Would there ever be a point where we'd want to start picking two players at each draft turn ... or is that too much?

I think there's still quite a bit of sniping going on. All the guys who I shortlisted last night for my 10/11 picks are gone.If the current pace is sustainable, we'll be done before opening day. If interest drops off in the later rounds and we get overrun with skips, we'll move to two-a-days or three-a-days.

12.07 - Bogart - Brandon Webb - SP

All signs are positive early in ST, the Rangers are going to treat him with kid gloves, guy on a one year deal to prove himself = a great 3/4 of a season

Recently named the team's opening-day starter ... let's see if that ends up meaning anything.

12.10 (274): SP Carmona, Fausto

Does ChemX get autoskipped after AOD makes his pick?

ETA: Since he missed his last pick...

so wanted to pull the trigger on him at the turn, but still scarred from last two years of this guy killing me in my NL roto league.

No. Tradition has it that going off daytime clock stops multiple skips from happening. This may be another rule worth suspending when we enter the irrelevant rounds

i wish there was some feasible way to do a "chess clock" in these drafts. you get some amount of accumulated wait time for the whole draft, still with the normal 1-hour limit per pick. But once you reach that accumulated limit, you are on autoskip for the rest of the draft.

With waiting so long on pitching, I am going to have to go high risk/high reward on occasion. Webb fits that perfectly.

my 12.12 is Michael Brantley, OF, Cleve

was a B/B last year and was an OBP guy in teh minors. I need someone to get between crawfish and heyward in teh OF.

At this point, lineup might be:

Brantley - CF

Crawfish - LF

Heyward - RF

Fielder - 1B

Alvarez - 3B

Peralta - SS

J. Lopez - 2B

Catcher

Myers

Gio Gonzalez

Dempster

Happ

Pineda

need some things to break the right way, but I think I can score enough to offset no top pitching. Lineup is very left handed, so I'll need to get some righty swinging bench guys. If Lopez or Peralta has a functional year, I could move them to 5 against lefties.

Could use another SP/Long man in case of injury.

I dont think this is turrible.

Feeling the pain for some of you guys that have more than one rotation spot left to fill.
I think everybody has at least one rotation spot to fill, even the people who've drafted five SPs.WIS rule of thumb is you need to draft a minimum of 900 IP from your SPs. That's 180 IP per arm. Chances are one of the five will either get hurt or underperform.I have five SPs and I'm still looking for more.
Exactly, which is why I feel bad for the guys that are only 2 or 3 SP deep. Yikes.
I'm OK having 4 right now, I figure that if I can get 5 (or even if I can't) and then get one of the guys who emerges from nowhere like Garcia, Romero, etc last year I'll be OK.

Lineup:

1. Rajai Davis OF

2. Martin Prado 2B (hopefully)

3. Miguel Cabrera 1B (not rehab, hopefully)

4. Casey McGehee 3B

5. Nick Markakis OF

6. Kosuke ####udome OF

7. Kurt Suzuki C

8. Erick Aybar SS

9. P

Based on last year's numbers this team presents .285/ .348/ .439/ B/C+

Rotataion:

1. Zack Greinke RHP

2. David Price LHP

3. Anibal Sanchez RHP

CL:

1. Jonathan Papelbon

Since others are posting lineups, I'll throw mine out there for now. Someone that has a clue should go through and rank the teams so far.

1. Brian Roberts 2b

2. Kevin Youkilis 3b

3. Carlos Gonzalez LF

4. Jay Bruce RF

5. Justin Smoak 1b

6. BJ Upton CF (could theoretically leadoff if his OBP surprises me or days where Roberts is serving his DL sentence)

7. Some crappy catcher

8. Jason Bartlett SS

SPs

1. James Shields

2. Javier Vasquez

3. John Lackey

4. Mark Buehrle

RPs

1. Aroldis Chapman

1. Ellsbury, LF

2. McCutchen, CF

3. Posey, C

4. Hunter, RF

5. Rolen, 3B

6. Davis, 1B

7. Castro, SS

8. ???????

SP Braden

SP Slowey

SP Pinerio

SP Wells

RP Gregerson

I feel no confidence on the order of my lineup or pitching staff. I am hoping that Ike Davis hits enough to hit in the middle of this lineup and Ellsbury hits enough to move down in the order to give me more balance. Of course, Rolen's health is huge. My defense will be top notch aside from that error fest at short I hope doesn't happen this year. The pitchers are contact guys. Gregerson should be a fine closer.

Not sure I follow that line of thinking. When you draft a guy that has thrown 200 MLB innings in a season, it will be the first on your staff. Everyone, pitching rich included, will be gunning for the next Garcia or Romero with upcoming draft picks. It's a bit of a crap shoot, and there's certainly no guarantee anyone lands that caliber of a season. And exactly how successful is a 2010 Garcia/Romero? Those are probably middle of the rotation options. Rarely will a true #1 emerge from the scrap heap.

I agree completely. I have Felix/Floyd/Anderson as my top 3. I'm very happy if I have 150 innings of mid-level starter innings from my 20th round pick. But I wouldn't want to be planning to build a whole rotation of those guys.
