WIS XV: Alphabet Soup with a side of Salary- Draft & Season Thread (1 Viewer)

I will make my two picks in the morning. I left all my list at work, and too tired to think about it at this point.

22.524 - Joe Kuhel - 1B

Lefty bat off the bench, and now Wieters doesn't have to worry about bringing a 1B glove to the park. Not much pop, but I like the Avg and OBP, to go along with B/A- defense.

EDIT: formatting

EDITx2: Plus how cool of a name is that. And he is a Senator, which pretty much makes him a Ranger.

Harrible

23.533 - Paul Lindblad - RP

Because drafting left handed Senators is fun!! Similar numbers to Tommy John, just not as many innings.

That leaves me with WC and 'A' left. I feel much shtick coming on.

Mainly because I don't want to think about looking at the entire alphabet anymore.

23.15 Buck O'Brien, RP

51 inning of 0.00 hr/9. Let's not talk of the other numbers.

He was on my O' list (though the guy ahead of him is still there :coffee: )And the other numbers while not great arent terrible and he could start for ya in a pinch IIRC.

23.16 Bubbles Hargrave

I mean, come on, his name is Bubbles!

Normalized line of 320/412/515 and A+ arm... good backup catcher and won't kill me as a PH

I don't care if I pull a belljr and lose 100+ games, I really like my team and it's going to be fun to see what they do.

Jealous of Pujols - would love that righty power in my lineup in the OF (all lefty OF)

Crazy ####. Aurillia in the SF jersey and Carew in the Twins are the only two not typically red.

Roy Thomas .327 .453 .365

Chuck Knoblauch .341 .448 .517

Wade Boggs .363 .461 .588

Babe Ruth .341 .489 .661

Billy Williams .333 .398 .606

Howard Johnson .287 .369 .559

Gabby Hartnett .339 .404 .630

Maybe I should just go all out for power? Debating which Papi season to use:

2007: 327/440/601 with 35 HR (and 52 doubles)

2006: 280/407/609 with 52 HR (and 29 doubles)

Normally I wouldn't think the power was worth it, but in a park that's +3 for HR, I wonder if he could make up the difference in OBP.

Now accepting offers for the first pick of the wildcard round.
Would my first born to be named later be an acceptable starting point?
This the best offer I have? Wildcard round is almost upon us, gentlemen.
Dunno why the fuss. PLENTY OF TALENT AVAILABLE.
Oh, I think there's a definite advantage to the first pick for those folks that still need something.
Well, if you planned poorly, then yes.J/K - I was very jealous of that first pick until I realized the person I was targeting had already been taken rounds ago... upon further review there are a few options, but I am fourth so one will fall.

Don't know why you'd want to give up the best chance you have to improve on one of your many holes?

I thought a high pick in the wild card round would be a bigger advantage than it turned out to be. There's still some excellent talent available but it's at deep positions where the marginal improvement won't be great for most teams. I'll be making a need pick at 24.02 who isn't anywhere near the BPA. But there will definitely be some sniping (and mooping about it) further down the draft order.

Dang, was thinking he had that year in Cincy for some reason.
