WIS XVII - The Cartereaganbush League: Scoobus beats Sammy in the Wis Series (1 Viewer)

I think we should roll a 10 sided dice at the end of this round to determine how many more rounds we keep up this stupid thing

Morning kids... sorry, passed out last night before the mini run.

Robby Thompson 2B 89, 91, 92

Pretty safe pick at this point. Was the last position I needed, really good defense, a little pop / decent XBHs. Will be ok as a 7 hitter, and will make a really nice defense duo up the middle with Fletch.

@FishTacoTuesday (texted, and also sorry I passed oot right before ya gb).

Lineups

Vs. Righties / Power   |   Vs. Lefties

1. Gene Tenace   R CA |

2. Chet Lemon    R  CF |  Dan Gladden   R CF

3. Reggie Smith  S  LF |  Chet Lemon    R  CF

4. Oscar Gamble L RF |  Reggie Smith  S  LF

5. Willie Stargell  L 1B |

6. Bobby Bonilla  S 3B |

7. R Thompson   R  2B

8. Scott Fletcher R SS |

My Defense is weird.  Generally really good, but my corners are terrible range overall.

CA: C/A-/A

1B: B/D-

2B: TBD but will be very good.

SS: A/B

3B: C-/A+

LF: D/D+

CF: B/A-

RF: B+/A- or B/D-

My lineup will look something like:

2B Alomar (S) 310/405/427

LF Raines (S) 334/414/476

1B Thornton (R) 262/377/516

C Parrish (R) 284/338/529

RF Bell (R) 275/329/479

3B Mulliniks (L) TBD

CF White (S) 282/342/455

SS Fernandez (S) 276/352/391

I'm short on home run power, heavy on speed and steals. Lots of extra base hits, hopefully plays well to my stadium (+1 1B, +2 2B, +3 3B, -2 HR). A+ defense up the middle. If I had managed to grab Wallach or Larry Parrish at 3B I'd probably like the look of it more.

Could also go Alomar/Thornton/Raines/Parrish/Mulliniks/Bell/White/Fernandez to go S/R/S/R/L/R/S/S with the batting order.

Raines should be fun in this thing.

ETA: Some top players who will steal a lot in this league, too. One of the reasons I was aiming for a good catching arm.

The Boy's Lineup (he'll set how he wants, but my best guess)

3B - R. Ventura, (L) - 284/367/442, 23 HRs - B/A-

LF - J. Rice (R) - 325/381/596, 39 HRs - B/D+

1B - K. Hrbek (L) - 285/389/545, 34 HRs - A/C

RF - J. Canseco (R) - 274/371/543, 37 HRs, A/C+

C - R. Gedman (L) - 269/312/506, 24 HRs, C-/A-/A+

SS - T. Fryman (R) - 266/316/415, 20 HRs, B/B

2B - T. Phillips (L) - 251/364/351, 8 HRs, A+/B-

CF - G. Maddox (R) - 281/304/425, 13 HRs, A/A+

Gonna be some bombs with +3 to RF/LF  -- obviously he sacrificed some avg/obp to get there.  Defense looks good though

Some Purty D there.

I wonder when the last HoFer will be drafted, who played a bulk or their career during this period.

TRE lineup for my +2 1B, -4 2B, -3 3B, -1 HR LF/RF park

1B - R. Carew (L) - 333/411/441 - C/B

2B - P. Molitor (R) - 315/379/439 - B-/A-

RF - D. Parker (L) - 338/397/531 - D+/A

3B - C. Lansford (R) - 289/366/455 - A/D

LF - B. Oglivie (L) - 282/343/525 - B/C-

C - T. Munson (R) - 308/351/462 - C/B/A+

CF - T. Puhl (L) - 287/352/377 - A+/B

SS - O. Guillen (L) - 261/294/314 - A-/A+

Idea seemed solid, but didn't hit some of the years to really make it awesome.  Two Lansford 336 AVG seasons and I hit the 289, for example.  Neither of Carew's or Molitor's best... wah wah.  Still, hitting 302 as a team, but I'm sure others have stronger lineups.

LF Shane Mack (R) 315/394/467 B+/C

RF Kal Daniels (L) .291/397/463 B-/C-

2B - Juan Samuel (R) 272/335/502 C+/B+

1B - Mark McGwire (R) .235/370/489 A/A-

CF Al Bumbry (L) 317/371/411 A/A

3B - Kevin Seitzer (R) 304/388/406 C-/B-

C - Gary Carter (R) 294/366/487 A-/A-

SS - :bag:

McReynolds pick completes my lineup. He will play either LF or CF and will bat either 6 or 7 depending on the roll
