Women's March on Washington (1 Viewer)

Come on, man.  I was a little kid when Reagan was inaugurated.  I went to the inaugural parade with my parents, both of whom are more liberal than I am (believe it or not!).  None of us would dream of ever doing so with Trump.

Comparing Trump to any previous president in terms of his divisiveness or his competence or any other of several other measures is absurd.  The first full day of his presidency was met with the largest protest in human history.  Whether you voted for him and support him, just tolerate him, or detest him, you have to at least recognize the unique nature of what's going on here, both in the Oval Office and in opposition to it.
Is this true?

:lmao: There is no way this is possible.
You can ask the Sanders supporters whether they think I'm a bleeding heart liberal.  I'm kinda middle of the road on a lot of things- energy policy, trade, gun control, state and local "nanny" laws, and some other stuff.  You and I mostly joust on politics, not policy, so it doesn't come across.

Ok, fair enough, that just struck me as "fake news" ;)

I'm Ok with history...it is Biology, a Science Book and the French I took that I don't know much about...
Not really. For starters, Reagan crushed the opposition ... Trump not so much. His margin of winning the electoral college was very slim and he lost the popular vote to a very weak candidate.

Please read my post again...I said on HGH...it is far more than Reagan but you are 100% wrong if you don't think the left was totally dumping on Reagan...the world is far different now...the extremes on both side have become more extreme and the lack of tolerance today was not around back than...yet, make no mistake about it...the left said Reagan was a dumb actor was unfit to be in charge of our nukes...no amount of revisionist history will change that...

It's hard to take serious a "movement" where the majority of participants are wearing female genitalia on their heads.

Imagine a bunch of FBG walking around #####ing and moaning with a Weiner sticking out of their foreheads. See what I'm saying.  Scary.

Ah, OK.  I was just a kid but that sounds right to me.

Slim?  He won 304 to 227.   While not huge it's certainly not a slim margin.

And here we go with the popular vote again.  ONE STATE - California - made this difference. Take CA out and Trump would have WON the popular vote by 1.4 million.

I thought the hats were "cat ears," not literally intended to resemble female genitalia.  Regardless, I can't imagine a thrice-married woman who bragged about not changing diapers getting elected president after being caught on tape saying she likes to grab unsuspecting men by the junk.  So I'm not sure we can really do a comparison here anyway.  Maybe if we lived in a universe where that could happen the weiner hats wouldn't seem as strange.

Wait..what?  If a woman said she loved to grab men by the junk you better believe she would be elected president.  Not only that, most guys would be applying for jobs at the WH.

Well, we can argue about the definition of "slim" all we want, but there's no disputing the fact that Trump's electoral margin ranked 46th out of 58 elections.

Take out California and 52% of the remaining voters opposed Trump. Granted, that's a fairly "slim" margin, but slim is the new mandate these days, right?

Neither can I actually. Your problem is you equate equality with being the same. Men and women are absolutely equal under the law but men and women are very different.

The daily barrage of insults, attacks and condescending nonsense from the same few. Good times.
Been happening here daily for almost 2 years. When do you think they will realize it never worked and never will? Or at least realize they got slaughtered on the one thing that meant more to them than anything else apparently.

I didn't equate anything to anything. I just pointed out why your hypothetical might be a flawed comparison, which you now seem to agree with.

If we "take out" CA then there are no remaining voters and Trump wins the popular vote by 1.4 million votes.

What am I missing?

You're missing around 7 million people.

I said 52% of voters opposed Trump. I didn't say they all voted for Clinton.

If a small fraction of these women bothered to vote there wouldn't be any need for a march. The number of protesters don't matter. The number of arrests are irrelevant. The number of people at the inauguration is meaningless. All that matters is the electoral votes. Trump won.  All this after the fact nonsense reeks of sore loser (nobody lost any rights on Friday). Next time vote if it's that important.

If it didn't matter at all then why is this thread 29 pages and growing?*
36 pages and growing.  Lotta responses over something that doesn't matter.  Odd business, that.

Guy, the largest protest in US history, with others around the globe, isn't going to be overshadowed by naughty words Madonna said.  That isn't a fact, but it's real close to one.
You also thought Trump was going to get destroyed. I don't think you really have the pulse of the people man.

We both know that if the other side is dug in and believes firmly in something in opposition to you that shouting until you're blue in the face isn't going to change their mind.  I know it meant something, you know it meant something, but to the other side, it was just "fat, ugly, bat#### crazy women getting some exercise and littering".  That's what they want it to be so that's what it is to them.

It's staggering to me.
