Wondering what to talk about over Thanksgiving? (1 Viewer)

He's not wrong. It's not about "pushing Obamacare" it's about helping the uninsured get covered. It says that, literally, right on the website:

If you have family members who are uninsured, you can play a big part in helping them find coverage that works for them.

Nothing wrong with that. Anyone who says differently is merely a partisan hack.
I have people who are now uninsured because of Obamacare....should make a great icebreaker...

Thanksgiving is supposed to be about family...at least that's what I thought it was for.

Regardless, its still a horrible idea. Whomever thought it up - and we all know it wasn't Obama :eyeroll: - needs flogged for attempting to politicize a holiday.
It was ill-conceived and someone should have caught this. It's like they intentionally casting bate.

Perhaps you could direct them to the website created by the Affordable Healthcare for Americans Act.

Not sure, haven't brought it up yet. My family comes over 5 Eastern.

I have a relative that works at Placemark in Dallas (financial company). At Thanksgiving dinner it was brought up that the company issued an email indicating that because of ACA, premiums were going up approximately 40% and they should consider pursuing other insurance options.

Other suggested topics would be abortion, the eternal damnation of all non-believers, and if your one middle aged aunt is actually going to be single forever?
My FIL can't wait to get on me for thinking that the Redskins should change their name. It'll be a hoot.
Oh geez, sounds fun. My wife and I are doomed to be asked if we changed our minds about having kids every family holiday. I'm tempted one year just to give them what they want right on the dinner table.
You would become a hero for all others like you. It would be the stuff of legends for decades.
