Wooing my neighbor: I came. I hugged. I wooed. Now moving on. (1 Viewer)

Sorry NRJ. I blame Ric Flair. May your woo be the who in a new and improved hoo hoo soon.

Just a quick question.

Shouldn't the title be I wooed, I came.

I mean if you did it the other way good on you.

That's awesome, thanks for sharing.  I have done my share of fretting. Stayed home from work one day, got drunk and watched the entire Luke Cage series.  Did a lot of reading, got some outside perspectives, and did some self-analysis. But as I said, I'm at peace with it now, and confident that it's for the best. And if she still has feelings for me behind those walls, then maybe I'll get that call some day. If not, then it was best to move on now for both of us. Live and learn..
Christ dude grow a set.  She had a neck tat for Gods sake

The ex that lives next door, who took the breakup well. That's you.

That guy will always get some free hugs later.

Look for the random text in the future: "What are you doing?"

That text will be followed by some furious hugging.
FriendZoned, the movie

The question on my mind, is, if things work out with the crush, do I tell her that the last girl I dated happens to still live next door? I'm leaning towards no unless we got into an ex discussion with details, but I guess it may not even come up, unless the lady comes to my place.

My other option is to just move.
you know you're going to tell her.

Colonel Jessup, thank you for the thread of the year.  This was great fun.  I wish the best for you and Mona Lisa. You were a great sport with all the schtick, much of it was unflattering to you.  Good Luck!

I'm never gonna Woo again
Guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool
I should've known better than to cheat a friend
And waste a chance that I've been given
So I'm never gonna Woo again
The way I Wooed with you

Can someone start "Woah, my neighbor"

... that's a thread. Who's got the hot neighbor?

do it.
The best strategy is to shock and awe them.  This wooing and woahing stuff is for the birds, well pigeons more specifically.  This is where the ole Nathan screwed things up.  He never had a chance from the start.

Phew!  Read this entire thread between last night (90 pages) and this morning (30 pages) and it was a lot like binge watching the complete series of a TV show over a weekend.  I had the benefit of not having to wait those agonizing few days sometimes to get clarification, like for example, what a 90 minute hug consisted of.  The downside, however, was realizing it didn't make much sense to like a post that was four months old, or wanting to reply with a question or one-liner when you realize the post was from around Labor Day, and not yesterday.  When I got to the sad update from early December, I actually stopped scrolling and re-read a few times.  I really felt bad for our hero.  All in all, though, I was entertained from start to finish and enjoyed the wild ride.

Some highlights:

AZRon Hitler Video

"I WANT TO FEEL YOU FROM THE OUTSIDE" - literally lol at this and couldn't stop

Belljr's hug this button

The Purse FFA forum (swc-section... lol)

CTSU is an ###hole, and NRJ handling him well

"your mesh Saints athletic shorts"

...if you know what I mean.

the FFA's response in the receiving line at the wedding ("I'm so glad it didn't rain today!")

and so much more I know I'm forgetting.

What I really took away from this thread the most is that NRJ seems like a really stand-up guy - while a lot of the negativity was shtick from the FFA I'm sure, some of it was real and he just laughed it off and never lost his cool... except for on ctsu, which was totally warranted.  Plus, he kept certain details private in order to keep that balance between sharing and not wanting to give up personal details about "Marisa", which I totally respect.  Reading about all the events a few months later really made it hard to remember how condensed most of the story was, which was 3-4 weeks.  I would read 15 pages and check the date and it was still only a day or so later!  Given that, the pace at which things went seemed totally fine to me.  I think he played it well at every turn (ok, maybe could have kissed her on the second hug, but I trust his judgement that it wasn't the right move).  I think he even played things right at the end by respecting her wishes, even though it was heartbreaking for him, and giving her space and not pursuing her.  By being classy to the end, he hasn't burned any bridges and has left the door open for some sort of future together, if she is able and willing to go that route.  It's entirely possible that she does, one day, realize she made a mistake and looks to rekindle what they had.  And if not, it seems like NRJ is OK with this and will be just fine.  He's a nice guy and will find someone equally deserving of him.

Kinda sad I found this thread as it is reaching its conclusion.  Here's hoping "Woo Too: Electric Bugawoo" becomes a thing.

Thank you @RenegadeGM for the kind words and well-worded review of the adventure here. I didn't have time to reply the other day when I first read your comment, but wanted to be sure to come back and say thanks.

Now we need NRJ to keep us updated on his Tinder hugsploits.  Oh, and any future FWH action he gets from the lovely Marissa.
Tinder and Bumble have been a big zilch for the most part. Got a few matches, but nothing intriguing really. There are just not many attractive women using them here apparently. I've pulled them up when I've gone to bigger cities and you can swipe pretty much endlessly. I'm lucky to get 3-4 a day here, and usually they are :X .

As for the new-old crush, we are still in daily contact, and trying to get another lunch date scheduled. I think she's definitely interested and I intend on a fairly direct line of questioning as to her intentions with me, due to the last time we were talking (I'll save that for the thread if I start one).  I doubt it would be thread-worthy, as it will probably be an even slower burn than this one was. But then again, I didn't think anyone would care to hear about this one either.

Oh man, just saw thread title switch.  :poursoneout:

Hope you get a few late night next door benefits in the future.

I'm assuming you'd get more matches if all your pictures weren't you in different Saints gear :P

I don't know if it's full-on woo yet, but we shall see. Pretty and very sweet dental hygienist. Couple years older than me. 2 daughters, same age as my 2 kids. Stay tuned.
Famous comp. so we can assign her a name (ala Marisa).
