Nice!  Very well-written summary of what sounds like a great time.  Loved the gestures for the kids like the half dollars.  You have some skillz.  Ever served in a forward area? 

 
Life really is a funny thing.

Out there somewhere*, is some guy that, for some period of time likely not too long ago, had the opportunity to make the sechs with this woman every single night. Created a couple good kids with her. Now though, we can assume this fella isn't terribly interested in spending time with this fine lady, with a good chance he damn near hates her guts.

And here we have our hero, with a rather large international cheering section waiting with baited breath for every update, getting fired up to get her phone number or a boob graze on the forearm. 

Anyway, just funny. No doubt the ex is, at best, about 10% of the human being that NRJ is**, so Marisa really lucked out moving into that house. 

*I assume, unless she's a widow and if so, please send her and her fine children my condolences

If she joins you at the zoo and/or trampoline park, it would be completely appropriate to bring a camera. 

 
If she joins you at the zoo today, she is definitely interested. Thus, ask her out. Just the two of you, even if just a casual outing.

Well. I guess a phone number is good. I expected a peck on the cheek or a hug though. This really is going to be a slow story.  I'm happy for our guy though.  He is still in the game.

This went as I expected it to with no real romance, but an opportunity for Marissa to appreciate what could be a new family experience for herself and her kids.  Regarding the phone number, what prompted you to receive it?  Did you ask for it or did she offer it?  What was the reason you/she gave for giving it to you?

All good, as the Colonel pointed out, there are moving parts. He hit his spots, connected w/ her kids (yuuuuuuuuge here, yuuuuge) and started the wheels moving. It's not a Tinder hookup and she's right across the street, so the long game is the right play.

Yeah, if you're grading his performance, he definitely scored solid 9.5s for his work yesterday. Prep work, baking his own cookies, fun atmosphere for everyone, playing games, getting Marisa involved, making it fun and memorable for the kids, getting her digits.

As far as moving the story along, NRJ went 4-4 with a homer. :thumbup:

That is the plan. I really want to just start with lunch, so we can talk uninterrupted, because I want to know her story. I didn't feel yesterday was the time/place to bring it up.

No contact yet. I'm aware of the "signals" of making physical contact. I probably was a little standoffish for that, myself. I didn't want anything to be awkward for her, not knowing how kids might react, etc, so I played it safe for this one.

Not at all. I just like hats. Although I rarely wear a hat during the week unless I'm doing something outside. And like someone else posted, it's hot as a MF here, so it also keeps sweat out of the face. :shrug:

I told her to not bring a thing except mayonnaise if they needed it, because I don't stock it and had forgotten to pick up a jar.  She did bring my kids each a slush from Sonic.

Nice work on on the slow game, but now the clock is running. Play it too safe and you'll be feeding her dog while she goes away to the beach with another guy. Next move after the zoo should be a just the two of you

See, if they go to the zoo or whatever with you today, this is where you start to pump the brakes a little bit. Don't let her think that you are just after her and are using the "family time" as a way to get close.

I know you aren't doing that, but chicks think like brain dead squirrels sometimes.

 
I know we are just busting balls here but I want to be serious for a second.

For starters man the matching Saints hat and shirt is a doofus look for anything other than actually going to the game.  I think most on here would agree especially if you are trying to hook up.  You look like that guy and in my experience girls dont like that.....at all.

Secondly if you slow play this then you (not you you, but any guy in general) will inevitably will screw this up.  You are going with the "good guy, slow route" and as others have mentioned you are priming the pump for someone else and she is going to think you are just a good guy joe sixpack schmuck.  If you do go to the zoo or whatever and it goes well dude you have to move in for the kill.  A kiss or something.  If not what is she going to think?  Girls are funny and its 2016 dude, lets roll.

 
Back out of today, at some point one or both of you will see how well the kids are getting along and not want to risk their relationships by getting romantic.

What's your goal here? A steady relationship that could lead to marriage or hooking up with a cute girl?
