Same, except I had the last four letters on my 3rd guess and just got it in on the 6th. Annoying.
I probably chose my 4th and 5th guesses because they rhymed with my 3rd.
Took me four guesses. Third guess was inspired by a certain crappy beer. So FFMail was hungry, I was apparently thirsty.I woke up hungry if that helps

It’s interesting how everyone has their own approach. I always guess the same three words in the same order to start the game. I don’t even start thinking about what the word might be until after I’ve submitted those first three tries.* At that point I usually know it and get it on the fourth, or I need one more guess to narrow it down and I get it on the fifth. I haven’t yet needed to go to a sixth guess, though for sure there were a couple times where I got lucky guessing the right letter where two or more might have fit.
* There have been a few occasions where it was so obvious after the first two guesses what the answer was that I just solved it on the third. Like three greens and two yellows or something. But usually I don’t even pay attention.

Exactly the same here. Well I have gone to 6 guesses before but I haven't missed one. My 3 starter words are THOSE DRAIN LUMPY. Like you I will sometimes deviate if I hit a lot of green early but usually it is type those 3 almost without looking at the results. My starter word was the word 1 time and I flipped out. I usually now start with DRAIN since THOSE won't be first again. Depending on letter placement, sometimes I change LUMPY to LUCKY if I think it may have a C or a K in there.

It also depends on whether or not you have it set on hard mode, in which case your approach isn't usually allowed.

Didn’t even know that was a thing. Guess I’ll switch that on from now on, since it’s definitely too easy with the existing strategy.

Good point. I usually enforce hard mode on myself, but I don't have it actually enabled. Need to do that.

Probably the first 7-10 days I played this I used the same word but now I just change it up almost daily. Probably not the smartest thing to do I admit lol
