Wordle 246 3/6

All skill obviously.  (Just kidding.  I had to stare at the results of guess #2 for an embarrassingly long time before I got it.)

Thought for sure I was going to get sucked into some sort of multiple possibilities death spiral but for once I did not.

They definitely made a it a little harder after the NYT acquired it, which is good IMO.  It was too easy before.
You missed a ‘l’ - not Wordle but Worldle.  It’s the one where they show you the shape of a country and you get 6 guesses to get it.  The clue is how far away your guesses are away from the correct country.

My strategy in octordle is to start with four words with 20 different common letters. It’s pretty easy from there and I’m still allowed to miss once.

Took me an hour and four tries but I finally got it. Some people are going nuts on Twitter claiming the NYT is now using obscure words that are unfamiliar to most people. True, today's Wordle is not one you hear in speech that often (unless you watch MSNBC 😄) but I see it in print all the time and may have used it in this forum.

An hour, really?

Off and on, not continuously. Would put it aside and then pick it up again after looking at other things, like my Twitter timeline and the latest in the PSF.
I often start or end the day on wordle, in my bed or on the throne, and now quordle. It's like mental mindfulness for me, for now.

Same not an hour but took me a few guesses that Wordle kicked out.  Struggled to think of something that worked with the letters I had left.  I'm certain I've never used this word in my life.

I don’t get what the clocks mean. I entered that last word right after the one before with no clock. I had 2 guesses left even with the last one so I was wondering what the clock meant.

The clock is pointing to 11 o’clock. So, it took 11 guesses.

The first 2500 words were already programmed and the list of them was already available publicly prior to the sale to the NYT.  People have cross-referenced the current javascript with the original list and the only change is that a few words that NYT deemed "offensive" were removed.  No new words were added nor the order changed.  It's the same words that were programmed for these days prior to the NYT buying it.

But this is 'Merica.  So nevermind that the word list is literally available for anyone to download publicly to actually check those claims, let's just throw them around on twitter and retweet them a billion times anyway.

Biffed it because I stuck to my self imposed hard mode and got 50/50’d to death. Also, that’s a stupid word.

If anything, the NYT has made it easier — such as changing “agora” to “aroma”.  People complaining about it are just looking for stuff to complain about.

Yeah, I got caught in a trap on 7and refused to waste my last guess on 5 despite having the first 4 letters in order already. All in all a miserable effort by me today (except for getting wordle in 2.)
I missed one in Octordle and it was bad luck. I had 5 guesses that were 1 letter off where multiple choices would work. Also, didn’t realize Bourd was even a word. I literally mistyped and lost a guess 😂
