But of course they are...the pre-NYT version claimed non tracking as a feature.

The popular game Wordle is apparently tracking your history after you visit the website.

The game is reportedly tracking players more, now that it's owned by the New York Times.

Many people make a daily visit to the website to solve the worrd puzzle, and then often share their results on social media.

But their activity across other websites is then followed and the users are targeted with specific advertising.

Since it's free to play the game, the tracking plays a big role in how the Times makes its money.  The NYT bought Wordle in January to add to its collection of puzzle games.

Wordle is a daily game where the user gets six guesses to come up with the five-letter secret word of the day in as few turns as possible. It was developed by Brooklyn software engineer Josh Wardle.  It quickly took off and now millions of people play the game right now.

Some people will start every puzzle with the same word, a.k.a the Wordle starter word. One popular word people reportedly use to start Wordle is arise because it has three vowels and two consonants that might be good to confirm or rule out quickly.

Playing hard mode in Quordle doesn’t make sense to me - how do you determine which word to apply the rule to?

Yeah it isn’t pretty, but I’m stubborn.

If I get a lot of “hits” from a starting word, I’ll try to knock it out. If the second guess reveals more of another I may jump to it if I’m not really zeroed in yet.

Regardless, whichever word I am working on I treat as “hard” mode. 

It’s super rare for me to even use a second word with 5 new letters unless I do not  get at least more than 1 hit on several rows.

All in all, it is a terrible strategy, but it’s mine. Maybe someday when playing Risk, my Kamchatka obsessions will bear fruit and I’ll win a land war in China….

but today is not that day…(think I will reevaluate that gambit maybe)

First time doing sedecordle.  My strategy for quordle, octordle and (now) sedecordle is the same.  Start out with four words with 20 different letters (saber, month, flick, pudgy) and it's easy from there.
