I felt like it was not too far off the beaten path with the inclusion of R-S-T, and you never know where 'Y' will show up.
My do not lead-off with list includes "amass", "jazzy", and "queue."

STARE is the word I used today and is one of my frequents. Gets me the R-S-T plus E and A. ROAST would also get you the R-S-T and two vowels.

This was actually a failure. I started with TORCH and then SLOPE, and then I couldn't think of a legal word for choice #3. I stared at the screen for 15 minutes or so, wandered off and did some other stuff for a little while, came back and still couldn't think of a legal word, and finally just gave up and consulted a Scrabble word-helper. The correct answer was the only choice that I recognized as an actual English word, so it was easy once it was suggested to me as an option. I just didn't see it.

Me too. And today my 4 year old who is always asking to punch the letters in convinced me to do so. He put in some mismash of letters in and I laughed as he hit enter and it TOOK IT. It was my third word, almost had a stroke.Wordle 280 5/6

That's back-to-back Wordle fails for me. Hard mode sometimes makes the game surprisingly easy, but sometimes it's extremely hard to come up with a legal guess. At first, I was thinking my brain was just stuck in a particular rut and I couldn't snap myself out of certain letter combinations, but I actually considered the first two letters of the correct answer for a little while and still this word didn't occur to me. Blind spot for the loss.
