Got Octordle in 13 because of 2 incorrect last letter guesses at a word whose correct spelling is 4 letters, not 5. Probably shouldn’t have alternate spellings that aren’t common.

Might be a few who strike out today. I nearly did.

Yeah, there were a lot of streaks broken today and a lot of pissed off folks on Twitter with comments like,

Mister CIA is right. Once you've got the second through fifth letters right, the shark move (in non-hard mode) is to make a word with as many possible first letters as possible so you'll know which one is the actual first letter.

I enjoy it because I feel it's a good way to get my brain functioning in the morning and it usually doesn't take me more than a minute.

(Mound, Round, Sound, and Hound),  and (Wound and Found) and Bound.  "marsh" eliminated the first four, while "wafer" eliminated "Wound" and pinpointed "Found" as the solution.  Had "wafer" returned zero hits instead, then by process of elimination the correct solution would have been "Bound." ... Unless there are other five-letter words ending with "ound", in which case I might have failed.

That’s correct.  In hard mode you have to reuse any letters that are in yellow in your guess and you have to use the letters in green in their correct spot.  I think for words like FOUND it makes it truly a guessing game but for other words it helps you.  I’ve played 81 times now and my only miss was hard mode and something like WATCH where there’s like 7 or 8 words you can make out of _ATCH.

I feel like I'm having a very unlucky run the past few days.  Some of it has been brain-lock on my end with EPOXY and NYMPH, but I'm running cold on straight-up guesses.
