Wordle 281 5/6

I count 8 different options that all use today's last 4 letters, so even if you guessed one of them as your starting word and got 4 greens on the first go, you still can't guarantee a win.Β Total BS.Β Β
almost everyone today eh - lucky I got it on the 6th attemptmy first fail! got the four letters as mentioned above on the third try, so four guesses wrong. ugh.
how did that get you any closer than using mound and wound?I needed all six tries today.
My first three guesses were ocean, doing, pound.Β And then I realized there were seven possibilities remaining and only three guesses, so then ...
marsh, wafer.

Mister CIA is right. Once you've got the second through fifth letters right, the shark move (in non-hard mode) is to make a word with as many possible first letters as possible so you'll know which one is the actual first letter.how did that get you any closer than using mound and wound?
am I missing some obvious jedi logic here?
makes sense, thanks for explaining itMister CIA is right. Once you've got the second through fifth letters right, the shark move (in non-hard mode) is to make a word with as many possible first letters as possible so you'll know which one is the actual first letter.
smart move, will remember this for future. so in hard mode i assume this isn't allowed? i haven't ventured into that mode yet.I needed all six tries today.

I enjoy it because I feel it's a good way to get my brain functioning in the morning and it usually doesn't take me more than a minute.Β ΒGetting bored of this, seeing less folks post their results on FB, thankfully.
Just checking in to see if anyone else has had about enough of it.ΒΒ Β
To elaborate, after I found out that "Pound" was incorrect,Β my remaining word choices were ... (Mound, Round, Sound, and Hound),Β and (Wound and Found) and Bound.Β "marsh" eliminated the first four, while "wafer" eliminated "Wound" and pinpointed "Found" as the solution.Β Had "wafer" returned zero hits instead, then by process of elimination the correct solution would have been "Bound." ... Unless there are other five-letter words ending with "ound", in which case I might have failed.makes sense, thanks for explaining it

not a crossword guy & in general donβt go for this sort of thing but enjoy Wordle
itβs just a way to engage my brain while Iβm waking up
I donβt spend much time on it, usually less than a minute
I donβt understand it, but Iβm gonna brag on my apparent prowess anyway.Thank youuuuuuu. Added to the daily routine, which is now 10 games in about 20-25 minutes.

Thatβs correct. Β In hard mode you have to reuse any letters that are in yellow in your guess and you have to use the letters in green in their correct spot. Β I think for words like FOUND it makes it truly a guessing game but for other words it helps you. Β Iβve played 81 times now and my only miss was hard mode and something like WATCH where thereβs like 7 or 8 words you can make out of _ATCH.smart move, will remember this for future. so in hard mode i assume this isn't allowed? i haven't ventured into that mode yet.
