Wordle (2 Viewers)

That’s incredible!
haha it was a lucky lucky guess

S P L I T

R A N G E

The most commonly used letters of the English language are e, t, a, i, o, n, s, h, and r. First two guesses eliminated 3 of the 4 most common vowels and 4 of the 5 most common consonants.

But yeah, got super lucky I think.

(other tidbits:

The letters that are most commonly found at the beginning of words are t, a, o, d, and w.

The letters that are most commonly found at the end of words are e, s, d, and t.

neither applicable today.)

So after yesterday's debacle, it looks like they didn't adjust the word list for people that got different words yesterday.  My wife got HARRY yesterday (I got STOVE), so today she got STOVE.  So basically she's a day behind me going forward and our words will no longer match up on the same day?

We run a wordle competition with our group where we keep scores every day over time.  Needless to say that doesn't work if some of the group is getting a different word every day.

They really screwed this up.

Tried Quordle for the first time today.  This one is fun.  A slow start nearly killed me, but I held on

Holy cow that was close. After two guesses of good words (3 other unused consonants), I had to break down and try and find some matches. That word helped but still needed guess 6.

I will say that the words are getting a bit harder lately. This one is a very rarely used word that you definitely wouldn’t think of right away.

Those were easily the hardest back to back words they’ve had imo. Feels like they’re turning up the heat a little.
i agree.  i'm glad though, as it was a little too easy.  i don't think i ever lost until a few days ago and then again yesterday.

Yea I’m at 53 and just want to break DiMaggio’s record and then I’ll call it a day. They’ve been getting tight though, I went to 5 on today.

I don’t want to call BS but based on barely squeaking by today, the actual word is about the last second word you’d try if you got nothing. It has multiple less frequent or rarely used consonants and a double letter. I don’t see how you can eliminate enough in guess 1 to even think about today’s word. If you guessed it, kudos but it’d normally really bad second guess after a blank guess.

Saw a comment on Twitter that there seems to be a similarity with Wordle and the New York Times crossword puzzle where the puzzles grow increasingly more difficult as the week ages. Not sure where the NYT week begins and ends, but now I'm a little intrigued.

Monday is the easiest and Saturday is the hardest.  Sunday is bigger but it's at about a Thursday level.

Their KenKen puzzles are the same in terms of difficulty.

A slow start often leads to a exciting finish in Quordle.

I hope you got it. ;)
I did, although was hesitant to guess because I knew I just had yesterday, but I thought it would be a good one to tell me where the “L” was. I guess I’m going to be a day behind from now on though.

(Since most already had it, I’ll spoil that I had lowly for the second day in a row today.)

Squardle today :lmao:
Didn't even occur to me that it was an april fools trick, but once I saw all the vowels go black I just fired up the old Google browser and searched for "5 letter words with Y as the only vowel".  Never heard of two of them...
