Pretty sure I’ve used this word once or twice to start. Definitely the opportunity to get it on the first guess.

Some “tips” for octordle and sedecordle:

1. never make a risky guess unless you have more than one miss available. Move on to another word if available.

2. If you have one of those scenarios with a word where one missing letter could be any of 2+ letters then see if solving another word will reveal the missing letter.

3. If you do have to guess, make sure you are using a previously unused letter when possible.

Basically this. I only guess a word when I’m reasonably sure it’s right. It’s mostly letter collecting first.

My strategy makes octordle easy even if one of the answers is a word I don’t know. I start with the same four opening words that eliminates 20 letters (SABER, MONTH, FLICK, PUDGY). From there, I’m allowed one addition miss which is usually only necessary if I’m being quick and careless.

followed all of your advice and letter harvested early. the fourth word almost did me in, flipped the first and third letter on the second to last guess. funny i miss on Quordle and hit on this.

Well, I tested this by manually clearing my cache yesterday after playing. This morning it loaded my 1-0 stats. :shrug:  

I rarely remember to clear my cache so I don't know why it would wipe my info.

i did this once, clear the entire browser, and it reset for me. come to think of it, not cache, Cookies. i just checked and i see one for nytimes.com. try deleting that, probably will reset.
