I hate that, because I'm trying to lower my average, but stuff happens.
That said, I like your three word combo to start. Those would be great in quordle and octordle.
My starters: ARTSY, GUILD, CHOKE .... Yours: RAISE, CLOUT, NYMPH
A C E H I L O R S T U Y .... all are common between the two word groups.
My group gives an additional D G K
Yours gives you an additional M N P
My initial thought is that your starting three might be better.

Took me a long time to find a guess on the fourth word that worked.
Quite a leap from not getting a single letter on guesses 2 and 3 but it did narrow it down.
I really liked my starting 3 even though it got my squadoosh but did make the correct guess not that hard. I used waste, round and blimp. Covers all the vowels but has w, b, n, m, p instead of g, h, k, c and y. I think MNP is best of those but H and Y might be better than W and B.

I do like H and Y better than W and B. H gives you a jump on all the SH, CH words. And I like having Y as the last letter in one of the guesses, especially in Octordle, and there seems to always be at least one word that ends in Y. But all of our initial guesses should yield a good start regardless.
Agreed on both of those better than W and B but I still like MNP the best outside of the all vowels/RST and L.

I agree. I need to find the best of both worlds. All the vowels and C H L N M P R S T ... and one word ending in Y. I'm not sure such a combo exists though
Maybe if you use MULCH, their might be a way. STARE or TASER and then you have IOYNP. You could do POINT and you’d just lose Y but you’d gain having T at the end and second. Or you could invent the iPony and get it added to a dictionary over time?
I think this is why I like the larger ones better. I can’t recall if I ever missed a Wordle but the combinations we’ve used for the first three it’s almost hard to think of how you’d fail. It would have to be an odd word that happened to have a bunch of single letter choices. With the bigger puzzles you only have a handful of non-correct guesses where you could have 3-4 words with ASE all in different places in sedecordle. Those you have to do them in the right order as well because you’ll get the OUND and you don’t have enough guesses to go R, F, B, M, P or W without luck. You can find other words that help you eliminate guesses.

Yeah, the bigger the puzzles, the easier they get, once you get used to the idea that if you're not 100% certain about your guess, the move on to the next. Those things practically solve themselves. Sedecordle at first glance seemed super hard, but I think it's the easiest of the bunch now.

Excellent play. Average of 3.63 guesses per word. I'm exactly 4.0 right now, though when I started tracking it, I was much higher. I've since developed some better strategies.
