I've been going with two of the same yellow letter on the second guess quite a bit lately too. Getting a green square I think might be more valuable than an extra letter guess. Not sure .... but interesting to see someone else do it.

I was struggling to even come up with a plausible guess on attempt three. Luckily it worked out.

After 2-3 guesses, I usually start plugging in letters that I know or strongly suspect go in a particular spot. Wordle forces you to fill in one character at a time, and you can't leave spots blank, so I use "X" as a placeholder. After two guesses today, I knew that O goes in the two-hole and I goes in the four-hole, and I figured T was probably the first letter. So I actually had TOXIX typed out on my screen. I almost went with TOXIC because the allure of getting a word with X in three guesses was very tempting, but after agonizing over it for a few seconds, I figured TOPIC was a more likely guess. (You had eliminated this one already of course). So now I'm slightly pissed because I had a lucky roll and blew it at the last second.Wordle 624 3/6*
