Never should have guessed allow. I knew there wasn't an L in the 2nd spot. Was one of those things where I was too quick with my aha moment to double check.
 
Wondering if anyone's strategy has changed since Wordle first came out?

For me I initially tried to use a small number of first words with a lot of vowels. Also my second word I usually didn't reuse any of the letters identified in the first word.

For a while now Ive switched my strategy. I got bored with using the same words over and over and will just pick random first words. I also have flipped my approach and now focus on consonants first, especially using constant combos whenever I can. I also will use the same letters that I identify in each previous step.

I think this has made me alot more efficient with more 3 word guesses.

I'm sticking with ATONE. I like the three vowels, the A starter and the E ender. But the real reason is that I know subconsciously that the day I change, it will hit, and I will have missed my opportunity for the that unicorn one-guesser.

Playing hard mode doesn't allow you to play like that. Also, I think that it helps get words in less guesses more times than not. But it will bite you occasionally. So my second word always depends on what I discovered on the first word, and is rarely the same. I generally try to get S, L, and R out as soon as I can after the first word. That's about my only strategy.
