World of Warcraft (1 Viewer)

If no one is interested in the game card, I will just throw it up on eBay tomorrow. Thought I would offer.

Hey guys, I need a little suggestive help. My top toon is up to lvl 52 and it is getting pretty complicated. I love playing at the lower levels but now want to get this toon to 70 and have some fun in raids/outlands/etc. I dont understand the gems, good spec setups, where to quest/grind at in the 50s and so on. What site do you guys use to read up on all this stuff. I already use thottbot for quests and item info. Any advice would be great

Thanks!

That’s a pretty open question. No idea what class you are even playing. If you ask a dozen people you’ll probably get a dozen different suggestions. It all boils down to how you like to play the game. Do you currently belong to a guild or do you mostly get into pickup groups? If you want to raid at higher levels you’re going to need to find a guild and start working with them to gear up. If you find a moderately casual guild it will help you a lot because the people in the guild should have lots of advice for you and will help you get the things you want to get. It doesn’t sound like you’d be able to jump into any hard-core raiding guild at the stage you’re at – unless they are willing to take you on and teach you the ropes – which is rare.My general advice would be to read up on the WoW Class forum for your class. You’ll have to wade through a lot of junk, but in between you may find a few gems of info that will help you with specs and other web sites with info specific to your class. In the low 50’s I recommend questing in Un’Goro Crater and maybe Felwood for a change of scenery. Mid to higher 50’s move to Winterspring and maybe the Plaguelands.Once you get to level 58 head to the Outlands and never look back. Abandon all the quests in your quest log of all the unfinished stuff in the “old world” and just start loading up on the quests in Hellfire Peninsula. You’ll get plenty to keep you busy there, and the rewards will be so much better than the old world rewards. Start running instances as much as you can – Ramparts, Slave Pens, Mana Tombs – all good instances you can run in the low 60’s that will give you good gear upgrades and good experience. There is just so much you can do with the game that it’s impossible to say “this is the one thing you should do…” You have so many options depending on how you like to play the game.

Thanks for the write up. Right now have a lvl 51 warrior who i just use to make blacksmith items with and supply gold to my lvl 52 hunter. Right now just finished up some odds and ends quests in badlands, taranis, etc. Was going to head to the crator next. I am speced for beast mastery right now. Like that better then marksmenship. I have them both in the same guild with i think 5 lvl 70s and about another dozen 60+ guys. They are great help and have ran me thru some instances already. I like to quest/grind on green level quests so that i dont die and have an easy time just killing and killing without resting. plus like being at the high level of the toons in the area in case i run into a pvp ally to kill. I know hunters are the easiest to play and hence why i want to take my hunter up to 70 so i am not such a noob. I have been playing for over a year, just usually create a new toon once i get to high 40s since it gets pretty complicated for me. i also like having a bunch of quests in one area instead of one here, one here, flying around etc...

Really? No one wants this card for $25? I would much rather sell to a FBG than pay eBay AND paypal fees and just pay paypal fees. They are going for $25-30+ on eBay. $24. If no takers, I will put it up and shut up.

As a Hunter you’ll do very well on your own – but you probably already know that. I’d recommend you challenge yourself a bit more and try working on yellow and even orange quests more than greens. You’ll get more experience and you should have no problem completing them. Your pet is a tremendous asset in helping to do quests that other classes would have difficulty soloing. Even quests that recommend two or three players can usually be solo’ed by a hunter. And the nice part is, if everything goes south you can still Feign Death and try again! You sound a lot like my brother-in-law… he does the same thing. Usually around level 40 when the quests get more complicated and drawn out he just rerolls a new character and starts over. There’s nothing wrong with that at all. If that’s how you enjoy playing the game then Have Fun, I say! As for web sites, I’d recommend Petopia if you haven’t already found it. It is THE resource for what the different beasts abilities and skills are as pets. It has a ton of helpful information.Sounds like you play Horde on a PvP server. I can’t give you much advice there. I play Alliance (mostly – I do have a 57 hunter on the Horde side…) on a PvE server. The Beast spec is a very popular one for soloing and leveling up. You’re probably on the right track there. You may find at level 70 you want to focus a bit more on Marksmanship, possibly even respect, just because it will increase your damage output and you’ll be relying less on your pet and more on yourself when you’re in groups and raids.I'd say get to 58 as fast as possible and head to the Outlands. Hopefully the 70's in your guild will be helpful enough to run you through some instances and show you around and help you do some quests. You'll flip out when you see the great stuff you'll get from the Outlands!Good Luck!

Petopia is a very cool website. I don't have a hunter above level 15 or so, but I would check that out for sure. There's probably some really good hunter forums out there that can give you ideas of how to spec, though as Rhino mentioned, the official forums (save the stickies) are usually full of blah blah blahGoogle "wow loot lists" and there's a site (I think it's called Kaliban's Class Loot Lists or something) that is also great for class-by-class breakdowns of TBC gearWorld of Raids used to have a great flow chart for TBC, basically how to get rep, get keyed for Kara and beyond, get your flying mount, etc...I use wowhead these days instead of thottbot, you can search all quests by zone and find out what gives good rewards... the forums there are also pretty OK.

I actually have a pretty fair trade for you guys. I ran UBRS last night and the Ace of Beasts dropped. If you have any healers (or even a mage or shaman) in your guild that do not have the Darkmoon Card: Blue Dragon trinket they would love this. Here is the turn in for it:

http://thottbot.com/q7907

The card usually sells for between 150-200g (and the deck for between 500-600g) since it is still useful at level 70:

Darkmoon Card: Blue Dragon

Binds when picked up

Unique

Trinket

Requires Level 60

Equip: 2% chance on successful spellcast to allow 100% of your Mana regeneration to continue while casting for 15 sec.

Help my rogue get a Primal Nether and you guys can have it.
That's cool... I wouldn't worry too much. Now if it had been the Ace of Portals I'd take you up on that! I've had pieces of that deck in my bank forever.
Just sold that card for 600g, I figured what the hell, see if I get any bites, took a day to sell, but I will take it

Wow, this thread seriously turned into a  fest.
It didn't start out that way?
It went from  fest to serious :nerd: fest. I play the game and don't even know what some of these later posts are talking about.
What level are you? If you're not in the 60's I could see how some of it might be a bit confusing. Nothing wrong with that, though. That's what I think is cool about WoW - no matter what level you are or how serious or casual you are about the game, you can still have fun with the game. That's not to say this isn't one giant :nerd: -fest ... I just kinda assume by posting ina video game thread you're going to be slapped with that label. :bag:
Only been playing for 1.5 months. Got a level 58 Hunter Dwarf.
Cool - you'll learn about Outlands instances, "Heroics" and Primal's very soon! Matter of fact, at 58 you can finally make it to the Outlands. Enjoy!
Hit 60 over the weekend. Guess I need to go buy the Burning Crusade expansion pack now.

Reroll another class now. It's hard to get into a raid unless you're in the top 10% gear/skill wise on the server or you've been with your guild since day one.I have a 70 Hunter, 70 Priest and 63 Warrior. Finding a group/raid spot for my priest and warrior is never an issue.ETA: I should add hunters are usefull and fun to play it's just that there are usually more hunter than any other class on each server.

Ok. Explain "Daily PvP quests" to me like I'm shuke.

Just kinda started getting into PvP. I'm undead, so I do all my business and stuff in Undercity, as I know where everything is. Today, the daily PvP quest was in Warsong Gulch. I added the quest, went there, we won, I turned it in. Said that I can do the daily quest 9 more times. I go back to Warsong, we win, and in my quest log, it still says "Daily 1/10". Where do I go to get another daily quest? I don't get it. :goodposting:

I haven't played my 70 char in a long while, so I can't help ya. I know the PvE dailies but have not heard of these

There are all different types of daily quests. Currently there's one for PvP, one for cooking, and lots of PvE dailies in places like Ogri'la, Skettis, and Netherwing Ledge. There's a limit on how many of these quests you can do per day, which is 10. You can only do each quest once per day.

There's a lotta info I posted earlier on Page 3 about how to find the PvE daily quests.Check Here

I wish some FBGs would get on Maelstrom so I could at least PUG with some people I sort of iknow.:goodposting:Any of you know much about the Mongoose enchant? Other than it being ridiculously expensive to get the mats for, what weapon should I put it on. I have the Gladiator sword and mace from BGs but didn't know if I should wait for a better weapon to put those on. I'm a L70 ShS rogue...0/20/41 with Hemo.I was also considering respeccing and getting the two Glad daggers and going into the Assassination tree to get Mut with the balance in Combat and a little Subtelty. All the DPS from the Glad weapons are the same though so maybe it doesn't matter.I have 4k in gold so I am almost at my epic mount and then I'll be grinding Netherwing rep to get my drake.
Just saw this in Otis' sig. I never noticed until now that it was posted on Valentine's Day. Ouch.

Also, how much you want to bet that her "real world friends in the game" include Seth Green and (perhaps) Scarlett Johansson.

Definitely Seth Green. That guy has admitted he's a gaming freak several times.

Tried it for a week. Just couldn't get into it. Seemed like it just got real repetitive. That's weird cuz I'm a major fan of Diablo.

Gotta find the right class. I can't play a hunter past lvl 30 for the life of me.
I don't know what class has to do with avoiding repetitiveness. I think WoW is more of a social game. Something you do with your buddies. Just not that fun on your own maybe.

There are still at least 4 of us FBG's very active on a LOTRO server if anyone wants to give it a try (myself, Maelstrom, Gamerboy61 and BroadwayG).

I started when wrath of the lich king came out. was playing with a buncha buddies so it was fun at first. eventually I just started botting to level my char up. after botting to level I made my bot farm for me. after that I just lost interest.. I was more into DAOC . these games are fun if you have a group that's always on and you have time to play, those days are far over

I think when my kids are old enough I can get them hooked so I have an excuse to game again

F'n bagger.

Anyone still playing this?
IIRC, this is one of the games I started on with the beta. I played it pretty consistently up through Wrath of the Lich King, then put it down for a while, then picked it up very briefly when Cataclysm came out in 2010. It got to the point where I couldn't do anything worthwhile or fun unless I was willing to put in at least 20 hours a week, so I gave it up. I can't imagine going back to it now. I like to at least have a reasonable opportunity to get to the end of a game (or what you might call the "end" in a persistent world) but WoW has completely removed that option for casual gamers.

Heh, I still play EQ on an emulated server that's only up to Kunark. Has about a 1200 peak population and is pretty damn close to the real thing.

Get off my lawn!
