Worst SB since Arizona and Pitt? (1 Viewer)

This is my early nominee for worst post of 2013.

Some rank the ari-pit game as a top 10 ever.
Actually I think that SB was the greatest I have ever witnessed.
:goodposting: as a Giants fan I can almost agree :P ...all kidding aside, that Az-Pitt game was something special..it was such a good game!

I like how this one is looking, and Frisco is already a 4.5pt favorite..if we could get a game like Harbaugh Thanksgiving Game, I'd LOVE it...defensive battle, low scoring game with two well coached teams..

anyone who doesn't see the throwback, bygone-era potential of this game isn't a football fan..this could be an all-time great matchup..perhaps not as high scoring as some would like, but a defensive chess match..this is the type of game guys like Lombardi and Halas would love..

I play fantasy football to make every game entertaining, not just the ones where my team is playing. The money I make off playing is just extra. This is a great match-up between two great teams. If you don't think you are going to watch and enjoy this game, maybe you should re-evaluate if you are even a football fan

This may be a relatively even match up, but I certainly wouldn't call these two great teams. I think the Niners are a very good team. I don't think that much of the Ravens, but these are not two great teams. On the one hand seeing the Patriots lose was enjoyable, but I really thought that both the Broncos and the Patriots were better than the Ravens. I still believe that. The Super Bowl would have been more interesting to me if it was either the Patriots or the Broncos against the Niners. But sometimes the best teams don't win.

I was thinking this would be one of the worst in recent years. Two defensive minded teams that have saw a little uptick in offense lately. If the Packers are not in the Super Bowl I would prefer a 70-63 shootout with touchdowns galore.I haven't put a lot of thought into it yet but thinking 21-17 or maybe 17-13. I see the Ravens being able to stop Kaep and giving the NFL a blueprint for one of the potential ways next year to take down the running QBs.Prediction: This is Kaep's last game........ playing for less than $4-$5 mil a year. He has to cash in while he can before he has a possible injury next year.

Well that's kind of uhhh...impossible with the new CBA, so I wouldn't count on it.

You are an idiot. He said he could have a possible injury next year. That's being pessimistic and he said cashing in before an injury. How is that that not predicting an injury? I can't wait to see you go off on this

Add in the brother vs. brother angle and I'm not sure how much more you could ask for.
No Harbaughs.
Got to love Patriot and Seahawk fans teaming up here
I never liked Jim even back when he was a crybaby, tantrum throwing jerk of a QB. That he's the coach of a hated division rival only adds to it. I wouldn't like this matchup no matter what.

Pretty sure he has one more year to go before he can re-do his contract as per the CBA.

You're way off, try reading it again. And then duplicate that until you get it right. He was saying that this will be his last game not playing for less than 4-5 million. It has nothing to do with predicting an injury. He says an injury is possible, which is something that EVERYONE who wants to redo a contract takes into consideration. The good news is that you're name calling doubles the enjoyment of you being flat out wrong.

I think you shoudl follow the same advice and read what dude's saying. Try saying it out loud. You know what ellipses mean right? You know that it's a little more of a pause than a comma? Go ahead, say it out loud a few times and see if you still agree that he's predicting an injury. Or maybe you'll actually see that what he's saying is that Kaep deserves a raise. C'mon, what do you have to los? Give it a shot, then get back to me.

I feel it will be a bad Super Bowl because the 49ers are going to blow out the Ravens. Give the Ravens credit for getting this far, but this is a terrible matchup for them. The Ravens play poorly against teams with running QBs. They are too old and slow to handle the extra threat of the Pistol. The 49ers defense has trouble defending against teams with stud TEs. We saw that in the NFC title game, where they threw extra coverage on Gonzo and allowed Ryan to throw deep. But the Ravens don't threaten them with a stud TE or much of anything dynamic on offense. The Ravens are the type of team the 49ers will shut down.I see a 31-13 49ers victory.

Vegas seems to have no read on the Ravens either. They made the Patriots big favorites in the AFC championship game when the Patriots never blow them out. Now they make the Ravens slight underdogs in the Super Bowl when they should be big underdogs.

I think you're under estimating them against the 9ers.

It's the epic clash of titanic QBs not seen since Trent Dilfer and Kerry Collins.

Good effort but wrong.49ers never double or roll coverage to TE or hardly even have a DB go with a rob b/c what Willis/bowman can do in coverage. The 49ers even stay in their base alignment/coverage more than anyone else and that is one reason why they are so difficult to run against. They get beat deep if the pass rush doesn't get home and the qb picks on tarrel brown and/or whitner biting. Tarrel got covered up when Justin smith was tearing #### up......but now that he is playing hurt u get #### from him and aldon smith.

I clearly remember seeing the 49ers doubling Gonzo on the first touchdown pass and at other times.

What a terrible thread. I live in Toronto, I'm a Colts and I'm very excited for this Super Bowl. It's going to be a great game. Both teams have good D, good offense. I think they match up quite well against eachother. Not to mention that the Steelers/Cards game was fantastic..

Which one? Stinger/Flavved/Stratton is a Packers fan I think.BTW...why does anyone thi nk that it takes a bitter xxxx fan to think it might not be a good SB?

I think it will be a decent game...but the Harbaugh and Ray Ray hype leading up will be disgusting.

Like I said, just speaking the truth.
You are pretty much showcasing that you know absolutely nothing about NFL football.

Some people were saying the Patriots were going to crush the Ravens, and that didn't happen. The Ravens played two teams with running QBs in the regular season, and those teams were the Eagles and Redskins. They lost to the Eagles by 1, and to the Redskins by 3 in OT. The Ravens are playing better now than they were in the regular season. As for a stud TE, Pitta has to be accounted for by opposing teams.

I'm not a fan of either team and was rooting for their opponent this weekend. That said both of these teams have a running game, passing threats, and decent defenses. I can't think of a better matchup on paper. SF is the most well rounded team in the NFC. Baltimore was the second best total team in the AFC behind Denver, but Baltimore's coaching was superior to Denver.Arizona/Pitt was an awesome game.

This Super Bowl is going to be a bloodbath. They'll be hitting so hard you'll be feeling it in your recliner..AND both teams have the ability to make big offensive plays. This might be the most underrated Super Bowl matchup evah!......

I wonder if Tom Brady will be watching.

Link for all time history of Super Bowl ratings:

Super Bowl ratings history

XXXVI (Pats vs Rams) rating was a 40.4

XXXVIII (Pats vs Panthers) rating was a 41.4

XXXIX (Pats vs Eagles) rating was a 41.1

XLIII (Steelers vs Cards) rating was a 42.0

Also note that the 2 Pats Super bowls vs the Giants got a rating of 43.1 (Pats run at an undefeated season) and last years game which got a record rating of 47.8 probably had a lot more to do with the Giants and all of their fans than the Pats who we have seen in previous appearances are actually a pretty low rated team for the big game. In fact the main reason for the Cards/Steelers game outdrawing any of the Pats super Bowl wins is the result of the Steelers popularity even during a season where they played the Cards which had no history and almost no fans to speak of. This pretty much blows a hole in your Pats popularity argument along with your big market argument since the Steelers are a smaller market by far than the Pats are. Popularity is a bigger predictor of ratings than market size and lets face it, outside of Boston nobody cares about the Pats.
