Wow - lots of injuries in week 1 (1 Viewer)

Is it just me or does it seem like there are a lot more injuries, than normal, in the first week? ribs, shoulders, ankles, knees, it doesn't matter.

Are the players just getting too big and too fast that more injuries are going to occur when they collide?

Is pre-season becoming more the "farm system" and the veterans don't play enought and then when they get into week 1, they get hurt because they aren't up to game speed?

Please post your ideas?

Two hundred and thirty pounders crashing into two hundred and twenty pounders at a terrific rate of speed.

What are the plethora of injuries you see here?

Pretty much the only one notable was Brandon Jacobs

At 2:23pm Sunday, Rotowire reported that Chester Taylor was going to have a test done on his hip.

I haven't heard anything since. Did I miss the update on him, or are we still in the dark?

off the top of my head I'd say that they aren't in mid-season shape yet.

I need some help. We start only two backs (no flex) but I have Henry and Parker starting and Jacobs and Caddy on the bench.

Both my back ups are hurt.

That and both Henry and Parker have byes in week 6.

Do I wait it out, or do I strike now and try to get another back or two?

I was thinking I could IR both of them potentially and pick up their back-ups. That would give me the most flexibility.

You are hitting the panic button way too early... especially considering Jacobs and Williams are on your bench anyway.1. You have amazing depth at RB. I'm guessing you are in a 8-10 man league or you have very poor WRs.... or keeper league2. Don't worry so much right now. You are looking ahead to week 6 and you probably have no clue yet the extent of the injuries to Jacobs and Caddy. 3. Try and pick up Ward and/or Pittman if available. Keep in mind 6 weeks is a long way away and anything could happen by that time.... Ward and Pittman may not even be the primary ball carrier if the injuries last that long anyway.

It's just you. EVERY year there are major injuries in weeks one and two. This year is actually light b/c no 1st 2nd or 3rd rounder had a season ending injury in week one. Jacobs was arguably a 3rd round RB, so he was the most "important" injury of the day, and he is only going to miss a few weeks.
