My goodness for several reasons. AJ Brown came onto the scene in week 4 @ ATL. There was a lot of chatter about who the best receivers whose last name was Brown at the time. AJ kind of fell to the back after weak weeks 5 & 6 and add Chark and Scary Terry and others into the mix. Lets face it, it's a little difficult to pull the trigger on rookies when we have seasoned players already on our bench. Hollywood got scooped up right away, others not so much. Chark latest another couple weeks before he got grabbed. I couldn't quite pull the trigger on D Chark, Jr. at the time. AJ sits on the FA all this time.
And finally in week 14 he just got fully noticed as a monster WR.
He plays on TEN. Not a big market team. They have a solid RB in Henry and that's the only TEN player anyone wanted to own. They lost their stud TE too. Enter the D/ST soon. Mariota was eventually exposed. In comes Tannehill. Well, he takes a few weeks before - WAIT A SECOND HERE - and keeps performing at an extremely high level of efficiency and production. WOW! Now Tannehill is a player being mentioned for DFS as he maintained great value.
Now here we are in week 15 and everyone is talking about Tannehill, D Henry as the best RB in the league, and AJ Brown to some extent.
Will the hype be too much for him / this team? Shall we temper our expectations? Are we witnessing a new stud WR #1 in the making?
Tennessee is 8-5 and very much in a dog fit (whoops) for the division with the Texans, who they play this week and gives up points. Vegas has this game TEN -3 / 51. It could turn more heavily passing if Watson and company throw some points on the board. On a neutral site this is a pick em game. TEN gets home field advantage. TEN 27 - HOU 24 is the betting line. Average 3 TD's each.
Most experts are telling us AJ Brown is around WR 20-24 in the rankings this week. He's a low end WR #2. You know, after losing Evans I'm thrilled to have grabbed him with a $2 FAAB bid and place him in the starting WR lineup. We shall see...
* If I didn't land AJ it would have been looking at guys like Slayton, Perriman, Miller, Beasley, Conley, T Williams, Beasley, Ward, or J Watson. I did manage to also pick up DeDe dropping Breida for another shot at potential flex spot. Crowder was passed on by all 12 teams last Th night. Another WR that took a lil while to trust his skill set, who is awesome and very much a stud WR is D Parker.
