WR Allen Robinson (7 Viewers)

barring injury I don't see how Robinson doesn't finish top 15. 10 TDs as a floor.
Agreed. Kupp will draw the best corner and ARob will feast!
I'm sure the AP Offensive Player of the Year in 2,021 with 145/1947/16TDs will be shutdown much of the time and ARob3 will vault to the top of the charts.

He is a surefire Week 1 bust against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night Football, you did say his floor was double digit TDs, something less than 10 WRs typically do each season.

Thielen, JJ, Diggs, Adams, Metcalf, Chase, Evans and Cooper Kupp in ascending order.

After Atlanta at home Week 2 they have to travel to Arizona and San Fran B2B weeks before coming home to face Dallas and Carolina, this is a tougher stretch than many seem to acknowledge but you enjoy that feast.

;)
Lol. “Sure fire week one bust”. Should have stopped reading after that.
Really. Absolutely no chance he will do anything :ponder:

Just some friendly banter using the schedule as my tool to :grad:

Im glad it made you chuckle, you can have fun bumping this one on me the first month of the season.

I have no doubt I'm overly optimistic about ARobs potential in this offense. And in no way am I meaning to give the assumption Kupp will be shut down. Stafford and Kupp have amazing chemistry, and Kupp is a beast......his numbers will prolly regress to the mean a bit, but he will likely still be inside the top 10.

Along with everyone else, I just look at the opp for ARob at this stage in his career......should be high volume. Staff is best QB he's had. Jefferson is dinged up. No OBJ. ARob mailed it in on a bad Bears team to get an opp like this.....He's got to feel like he's died and gone to heaven! I'm on the ARob train!!

Agree, nice post back.

I thought for sure as the new toy he was going to get plenty of looks tonight, it is early but I'm concerned.

Total milk box alert. Stafford is throwing to Cupp, Higbee, Henderson, scrub slot guy 1, scrub slot guy 2, then Robinson. It’s over. Forget him as your WR2. He goes to the bench as a WR 5 for possible bye week filler.

Week 1 Bust

Allen who???
he only did 'well' in Chicago because he was the only gig in town. literally the only worthwhile WR to speak of. But he was/is nothing special. too easily covered

He only has eyes for Cooper
Looks like Stafford has eyes for Higbee too. Really anybody but Robinson.

Because he was never open. Collinsworth even commented on it in the game. Explained that ARob was doing absolutely nothing to help Kupp, wasn't breaking open, wasn't settling in pockets. Losing OBJ was a huge loss and an over-the-hill Allen Robinson isn't going to provide any solutions. Looks like they want to get Skwonrek trained up as quickly as possible to take that position.

Surprised I haven't seen it mentioned, but assuming that Robinson is trash... that opens a window for Van Jefferson to be fantasy relevant. Say what you want about his Van Jefferson but we know he's more talented than Skwonrek (or at least that is apparent to me).

It's funny how quickly things change, if you asked somebody yesterday if they'd rather have Van Jefferson, Tyler Higbee, or Allen Robinson it would have been a landslide for Robinson. After 1 game of bad tape, I imagine that everyone would rather have those two guys. The primary reason for concern is that this was a blowout for Buffalo the entire game, Los Angeles never lead which means Stafford was passing the ball the majority of the game and the guy couldn't even catch a single pass.

At the very least, he's an instant bench against any team with a decent defense.

I don't know how you could type that Robinson is trash.. kinda stopped reading there.

I didn't draft him and I don't think he's trash. I was conversing with others in the thread who were dogging on him and was speaking to them on their wavelength. If you read the rest of the thread the words used to describe him were:

Invisible
Terrible
was/is nothing special. too easily covered
Turrible

"Assuming that Robinson is trash..." does not indicate that those are my feelings about him. If you scroll a few posts higher, you'll even see that I was being the voice of reason.

I wouldn't freakout just yet. Stafford has had no time to throw all night.

Buffalo might be the best defense in the league.

However, it is a free country and you are free to dismiss anything I have to say. I'm just indicating that there was context / subtext that may have been missed. Was just trying to give Robinson owners a safety valve in the form of:

1.) It's the first game of the season against what could be the best defense in the league.
2.) Assuming that he is trash, there is a guy on waivers named Van Jefferson who might provide the value they were looking for.

"It's probably no big deal, but if it turns into something you can always stash Van Jefferson on your IR for free while you wait and see how Robinson does the next few weeks." That's my official stance. Assumptions are not statements of fact and I am sorry if it came off as dismissive of a player who has proven to be a fairly reliable pro over the years. At 29 years old, he's a year younger than DeAndre Hopkins who has always been more talented than Robinson who also saw his production dip last year at the same age Robinson is now.

After you've gotten a few of those big contracts, it's probably harder to stay hungrier than defensive players on the other side of the ball who have yet to make their first million.

Those people would be very bad at this. It’s one game good god.

It is one game but I didn’t see him getting a lot of separation. Two targets in a game where the Rams were mostly playing from behind is a bit concerning. I do wonder if his poor year last year was more on him than I initially thought. A good time to try to buy low if you are a believer however.

You do have to wonder if he is just that bad. Maybe those early years were the anomalies. I have seen good wrs still be pretty good with bad qbs.

Even the last 2 drives in garbage time
ARob3 had ZERO catches

The entire Rams Offense looked terrible. Running game, 1-dimension pass attack that basically is throw it to Kupp on 1st, 2nd and 3rd every time.

Nothing like that first game post nut clarity, huh.

Been a fan since he was at Orchard Lake St Mary's Prep.

2 targets is absolutely a cause for concern.

Man, I wanna say there are 30.7 million guaranteed reasons that will change...but then again, Kenny Golladay.

***************'

First game overreaction is something we should all be thinking about. But dang if that post nut clarity that comes with the first few weeks ain't for real FR.

He's balled out three times in eight seasons. We're on Y9. He's been average to bad (or hurt) 5 out of 8. The 3 hyper productive years his targets per game were over 151 (he also managed to put up 73-883-6 on 151 targets which holy cow that's not easy to be that average when you're seeing 9+ targets per game.)

But yeah, the three good years he saw 151, 154, and 151 targets. Bad QBs, injuries, alright, I hear ya....but he's kind of volume dependent, right? And ain't nobody getting 150+ targets playing next to Cooper Kupp. Robert Woods averaged 7.7 targets per game last year. OBJ averaged 6.0.

Big fan, but last night was not what they had in mind when they gave him 3-years & $46M.

Post first game clarity. I don't think he's as good as people who hyped him this summer think he is....and as a person and a player, I've liked AR for dozen years.

As a Bears fan, I had flashbacks last night. The getting no attention during garbage time is concerning. It's Kupp and Kupp only for Stafford's eyes. Plus never mind that he seems to be struggling with separation. It's only 1 game, but yikes!

65 (of 67) snaps, and 48 routes run (2nd to Kupp's 50)

5th in targets but at least he's on the field

no, my league doesn't give points for that either
Yikes, that is a lot of snaps for such little production. Could he be nursing an injury by chance? Or maybe he is cooked? But smarter people than us just paid him a lot of money. Something is definitely weird here. Did ARob not share his beer with Frat Stafford and find himself in the dog house? LOL

Certainly not a good sign after a lost year but I wouldn’t jump to conclusions yet that he’s cooked. Another game or two will probably shed light.

The other possibility is that he’s not that motivated after getting a huge contract. Wouldn’t be the first guy to go that route.

It’s not a given that he’s cooked, of course - but part of the reason I wasn’t as high on him as most once he went to the Rams is because last season at 29 he looked terrible. Many blamed Fields and the Bears offense generally but Darnell Mooney was sure able to put up numbers under the same circumstances.

I wouldn’t drop him or trade him for a K if I did draft him, but I’d have a little more concern than I normally would for a bad Week 1.

on the flip side, the coaching staff and FO for the Rams are several orders of magnitude better than the team running the Giants the last few years
