I don't mean to #### on your 2022 Super Bowl run, but - Amari Cooper with 68 catches and not even amassing 1,000 yards receiving; while being the #1 guy isn't jaw-dropping numbers.  Whether it is talent, trust or usage - he simply wasn't worth $20 million.  

Zeke was an overpay and now Dak Prescott would be considered market equivalent, based on some of these other salaries... I loved Amari Cooper and was sad to see him leave, but continuing to invest that type of capital on a player with his utilization would be making a bad situation worse.

a down year, for sure. also missed 2 games, not that itd make a world of difference.

but 5/7 yrs w 1000+yds (one was a half season played due to injury).... the guy is consistently good.

The money wasn't sustainable and something had to give.  Should Jerry have signed Zeke for that massive contract?  Probably not, but when you select a guy early in the first round of a draft and he has been productive for you - what do you expect?  

Zeke isn't worth his contract, but up until Christian Kirk saw $60 mill deal, neither was Amari and faulting Jerry for trading him is foolish.  

If you are paid top receiver money, you can't just chalk up last year to a down year and a Covid absence.  Cedrick Wilson, 4th WR on the roster almost had the same stats as Amari Cooper last year.  

 

Amari Cooper caught 3-of-6 targets for 17 yards in the Browns' Week 1 win against the Panthers.​


Cooper wasn't needed much as the Browns ran for 217 yards. Even if he was needed, Jacoby Brissett was inconsistent at best (including a deep ball miss to Cooper). While Cooper remains a good talent, this may be the story for him the bulk of the season until Deshaun Watson returns. Cooper will likely be touchdown dependent going forward as Brissett spreads the ball to all pass catchers.

Seems to have a rapport with Jacoby. Fair to wonder if that gets messed up when ol’ massage man comes back for the first time in 2 years a few weeks before the fantasy playoffs.
 

Amari Cooper caught 7-of-11 targets for 101 yards and a touchdown in the Browns' Week 3 win over the Steelers.​

Cooper has now cleared 100 yards two times in five days. It goes well beyond that, however. He is the first Browns pass catcher with back-to-back 100-yard games since Josh Gordon in 2013, while it is the first time he personally has breached the century mark in back-to-back weeks since 2016. Stunning. Jacoby Brissett has accomplished what Derek Carr and Dak Prescott could not. It helps that Cooper has almost no other target competition to speak of, though David Njoku had something to say about that this evening. Cooper also had a pair of bad drops this evening, including one on third down in the fourth quarter. That is just Cooper being Cooper. He will be a solid WR2 for Week 4 against the Falcons.

Amari Cooper caught 4-of-12 targets for 44 yards and a touchdown in the Browns' Week 6 loss to the Patriots.​


Jacoby Brissett struggled to throw intermediate and deep passes versus the Patriots, and Cooper's 33 percent catch rate makes that readily apparent. The veteran wideout saved his day with a 15-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Cooper didn't do much else in this game, but his target share remained strong. He accounted for 27 percent of Brissett's attempts. He remains in the WR2/3 range for his Week 7 matchup with the Ravens.

Amari Cooper caught 3-of-4 targets for 74 yards in the Browns' Week 7 loss to the Ravens.​


Cooper caught a 55-yard bomb from Jacoby Brissett by trapping the ball on his face mask -- an ugly but effective downfield gain. Cooper later had a lengthy touchdown called back on blatant offensive pass interference. The Ravens clearly focused on stopping Cooper, leaving the middle of the field wide open for David Njoku and the Browns tight ends. In Week 8 against the Bengals, Cooper will be a solid WR2/3 option in a game that might force the Browns to shift toward the pass.

Amari Cooper caught 8-of-12 targets for 113 yards and two touchdowns in the Browns' Week 11 loss to the Bills.​

Though Cooper's stat line looks like he thrived with the Browns' falling behind early, he actually did most of his damage in the first half. He only caught two passes for 22 yards in the second half, though one of the receptions was for a touchdown. Cooper logged a 29 percent target share in this game. The strong performance also bucked the trend of Cooper struggling on the road. His massive role in Cleveland's passing game locks him into WR2 status for Week 12 against the Bucs.

He’s gonna be absolute fire when Watson comes back in. Was absolutely itching to get to that point this season and be rolling out Jefferson/Kupp/Cooper/Davis in dynasty.
 

Amari Cooper caught 4-of-9 targets for 40 yards in Cleveland's Week 13 win over the Texans.​

The good news is that Cooper had nine targets to Donovan Peoples-Jones' three, and had 57.9% of Cleveland's targeted air yards in this game. The bad news is that the passing game looked disjointed and the result it produced was not a good one. You'll likely be firing him up again as a WR2 against the Bengals in Week 14, but Deshaun Watson did not immediately do much elevating for the star wideout against a bad Texans defense.

Amari Cooper (hip) was limited in Thursday's practice.​

While he has routinely wound up with days off as a resting veteran from the Browns, this hip listing is new to today. As usual with these things, it's concerning, but one day is not a trend. Cooper's Friday status will be more telling. He enters Week 14 as a WR2, and his absence would probably free up Donovan Peoples-Jones to enter the top 30 wideouts this week. Cooper did speak to reporters on Thursday, which we'd interpret as a good sign that he'll go.

Amari Cooper (hip) is questionable for Week 14 against the Bengals.​

Cooper did not practice Friday after injuring his hip during Thursday's practice. A Friday downgrade is never good; fantasy managers should prepare for Cooper -- who leads the Browns with a 27 percent target share -- to miss this Sunday's game against the Bengals, though he told reporters he "should be" OK to suit up. His absence would be a massive setback for Deshaun Watson and the struggling Cleveland offense. Donovan Peoples-Jones and David Njoku would likely see an uptick in targets if Cooper is out.

I'm not sure. It doesn't really sound like he's going to be good to go. He may play but it's sounding like there's a problem. I'm not expecting a good output. I don't need the game though, so I'll still have him in my lineup as my only other option is Jameson Williams.
