WR Amari Cooper, LV (29 Viewers)

Maybe the drops were a product of the wrist.

No idea why things didn't click and turn into more opportunity in Buffalo. But statements upthread that his stats in Buffalo showed a drop in per target efficiency are offbase. He was tracking very similar to his first couple years in Cleveland from an efficiency standpoint, so the ability still seems to be there.

If he's now healthy, he has a prime opportunity for significant target share in Vegas, as his actual primary competition is not Meyers or Bowser, but Tre Tucker and Donte Thornton. It wouldn't shock me in the slightest if a healthy Amari emerges to earn a 1a/1b share of targets with Bowser.

I wonder if he will play the Maclin/DJax role. I remember those dudes did pretty well with Chip.
Interesting. I don't claim to know everything about football. I do claim to be elite at what I have in my purview though. Ha ha. Anyways. I had absolutely no idea Chip is the new offensive coordinator for Raiders. I apologize to my fans for letting that one slip by me.

He went for $15 FAAB in my league and it wasn't a fight. A WR-needy team got him. He didn't seem to be having too much of an effect last year but I didn't see enough of him to comment with any degree of knowledge.

Not sure what all to expect with Coop. Meyers is WR1 but Brock is our #1 weapon. Cooper at best would be the 3rd option in a likely run heavy O. I think the staff really likes Tucker and not to mention Thornton looks like a potential stud.

I don't fault anyone for taking a late flier on him though. Perhaps he is finally fully healthy and carves out a nice role with Meyers' future up in the air.

Meyers is and always has been a (very solid) NFL WR2. Just because the Raiders didn't have a WR1 after Adams melted didn't make Meyers a 1. Not saying Amari will be the WR1. It could be Thornton. Or no one like last year and they funnel targets to Bowser instead. But it won't be Meyers.

How can you possibly say that with such certainty? Meyers is so underrated by general fans and it looks like by Raider ones too.

He is without a doubt the Raiders best WR right now.

Cooper had a ton of drops in 2024, especially in CLE. The 2023 year is hard to evaluate given the QBs and the one great game with Flacco at WB. He's been inconsistent recently.

What do the advantages metrics say about last year? Separation, GPS speed, etc. Things that are independent of his wrist injury.

According to ESPN he was 145th out of 154 receivers in overall score. They track speed and location with GPS. He stunk.

Cooper looked slow the last couple of years. I can’t imagine he does much in LV. Maybe a chain mover occasionally?

I honestly don't really know what he's doing there. He might have been Jakobi Meyers trade insurance, but that's pure speculation on my part.

What was a little disturbing is that he finished ahead of Xavier Worthy, Iosivas (a guy I roster), and Kelce (who was dead last—oof). Hang ‘em up, Travis.

And we wonder why Mahomes was so bad. And it’s not like Rashee sets the world on fire, either. Huh.
Meyers is in the top 3rd, Tre Tucker is next to last. PFF also has Tucker near the bottom, 94th out of 98 qualifying WRs. Hence, LV drafted WRs in rounds 2 and 4.

Opportunity for Dont'e Thornton, listed as a starter.

I’d much prefer a lineup of Meyers as the vet, and then all the young dudes: Tucker, Thornton, Bech, plus the 2 TEs of course, this year to really let the young kids duke it out to see who should remain long term.
Cooper muddies the waters imo.

He wasn't going to get on the field with Tucker and Thornton and Meyers. That's honestly what I think might have happened. I was asleep at the switch in our dynasty league with this WR class because I thought I was set, but Thornton is going to be hella special.
