I'd maybe make the argument that Shakir (especially as he gets healthier) would be ahead of Kincaid in the pecking order.

According to Fantasy Pros, he has 53 Targets, with only 33 "catchable" but his 9 Drops make it a 17% Drop Rate
Most "Drops" in 2024 followed by Mooney (11%) & Wicks (16%) with 5 each

Yeah, most of those drops came because he was so surprised Watson got the ball to him. Can hardly blame the guy.
I think it's more than fair to expect Amari to perform better in BUF than CLE.

Agreed... And what was the decision on "Catchable"? I think that is subjective and with Watson throwing it behind Cooper into the DB's range, is that catchable because it is "within" his range of hand rotation (big circle around WR).

The drops are concerning but Cooper had all the body language and mentality of a player who had given up on his team. He wanted a new contract extension this year and the Browns instead traded for and paid big money to Jeudy. They also went hard after Aiyuk too (and speculated Cooper would have been sent to SF as part of a trade that never happened.) They did end up restructuring his base salary to a bonus, a clear move that indicated they were planning on trading him.
Cooper (as good as he is) is a lot like Cooks, once the contract grumblings start or the team stinks, the play drops and they mentally check out. Cooper did it in Oakland and in Dallas and now Cleveland. He’ll be playing for a new contract from the Bills or somebody else this offseason and not with one of the worst starting QB’s in the league (who would be benched if his contract wasn’t fully guaranteed). So like Adams hamstring suddenly being healed after his trade, I expect Coopers head will be right back in it going forward.

Cooper always had low drop rates until he got to Cleveland with Brissett and Watson. I can't easily find game logs that show drops, but last year he had his lowest drop rate of his 3 years in Cleveland and there was no Brissett and little Watson. Watson has been awful this year, so I would attribute the drop rate to him for the most part.

I can't speak to drop rates or any analytics, but I recall from his time as a Raider that his hands were most definitely the worst part of his game. He can get open with ease, runs elite routes, can provide YAC, not a diva, etc, but his hands were always up and down.

If he's playing, I'm starting him. His route tree will almost certainly be limited in a new offense, but my guess is that Allen will want to pepper his new toy with a lot of targets in front of the home crowd.

that was sort of what i had remembered his rap being, but his drop rate in his 4 years in dallas was 2-4% each year. i can't find the numbers for his raiders years, as pfr only goes back to 2018.

He’s going to be great and will most likely make the most of the targets he gets. Targets from Josh Allen not Watson. You just know Josh Allen is going to be absolutely pumped to have Amari come in. Remember also, Amari was absolutely balling out of his mind less then 12 months ago with Joe freaking Flacco. I think he’s guilty of throwing in the towel on a historically bad O with a QB that doesn’t inspire. I’d apportion some of the drops to that. The guy had more uncatchable air yards than catchable this season ( about 350 to 320 )

In six games this season Watson has been sacked a league leading 31 times.

That happens when an offensive line's two starting offensive tackles begin the season on IR and the primary backup is also on injured and then the starting Pro Bowl right guard lands on IR and the starting center also lands on IR making over 80% of the starting O-Line gone which leads to:
31 sacks in SIX games and a 1-5 record and the league's worst offense that can't run or pass.
Cooper won't be working with 6 different QBs in Buffalo. He won't have to deal with the worst offensive line or worst offense in the league.
I predict he will do very-well in Buffalo this year.

I think this is similar to the Davante Adams situation. Adams in a better position with previous history in the system and w/ QB but both these guys are veteran NFL stud WRs. Where their value has immediate impact IMO is in the red zone. Would not surprise me at all to see both get end zone targets and convert into TDs this weekend. The full playbook and higher number of reps grows in the following weeks but have to believe that 10-20 red zone plays are the first priority this week leading up to Sunday.
IIRC Cooper scored a red zone TD his first game in DAL the same week he was traded.
