WR Antonio Brown, FA (7 Viewers)

I haven’t seen this video but Field Yates is also saying you can hear someone in the background say “and you’ve already got on your black and gray”

Now it's being reported that they Steelers are close to a trade. Speculation is Raiders.

I am highly skeptical, but at the same time I won't be surprised if the current regime in Oakland is going full on Matt Millen here...

It doesn't really compute that Brown stopped a deal to Buffalo, but is apparently going to the Raiders...

GB, Indy and maybe San Fran seem like the only teams that meet his requirements...

"Whatever compensation the Bills would agree to give the Steelers was directly tied to whatever financial terms Brown was seeking. It stands to reason that the larger the payout for Brown, the lower the compensation the team would be willing to give in order to reduce the risk, and vice versa.

As the talks unfolded, it didn't take long to determine the trade was going nowhere."
Brown wants a giant contract. Any team buying him is going to be hesitant to give up both big guaranteed money AND a high draft pick, as many of us said early on with this....

My question is what is Brown dynasty owners doing?

Are you willing to part with Brown in fear of another Bell style hold out? Holding thinking he will be traded to a good location? Waiting to see where the location is and then deciding to risk getting less later if you decide to part ways with him? Or not even considering trading him no matter where he goes because the player is that good even at 31.
Give me an example of an offer

I don't for one second believe this display of horrible behavior is real. I just don't buy it at all. Brown wants a new contract in a place he deems suitable for himself.
What do you mean you don't think it is real? Do you think he is acting? If he is acting, the behavior is still horrible, and it is happening in reality.

I believe he is doing just for the contract. Just to get a new deal that is it and for no other reason. He is 31 and knows if he stays under the contract for the duration of the contract he will be 33 or 34 when he becomes a free agent.
He started showing signs of the Me player in 2017, and it got worse in 2018. There were times in 2018 that JuJu got the TD pass, and everybody celebrated except him. He actually looked unhappy. He turned into a stats guy, not a team player. If I were the Steelers, I would happily let him move on to another team.

I'm waiting. There's a decent chance he ends up somewhere where his value doesn't go down. I'll wait this out and see. In any case, I'm not fire selling him. He just won me a title.

I'm sure we can rattle off several Bills WR's that were pretty damn good but he's still not as good as AB.
Can’t compare the two.  The league is not the same as it was back then.  Now you have QB’s throwing for records and wrs catching for records.

I actually think Brown is a product of Big Ben and the offense.  He’s very good.  But not as good as his numbers suggest.

Oh stop it.
From a football standpoint, what is Brown not great at?  He has speed, ability to separate, great hands and an elite route runner.  Sure he’s playing in an era that benefits receivers but he’s still one of the best we have ever seen.  I don’t think that’s a stretch.

i don’t think meno was ripping on the bills with his comment.  I think he would make the same comment for just about any other team.

The last game he played was 3 months ago and he had 185 yards and 2 TDS.

I would say Reed benefited from his situation quite a bit also, no?  Kelly.......K Gun...........

Hope he is okay with 70-900 in OAK if that is the case.
He'd love it there.  They will be bad again and he can rack up the garbage catches and yards, since all he cares about are stats anyway.  They will lose 41-20 and he will be giddy over putting up 12-160-1, most of which will be gotten in the 4th quarter.

And Vegas!

If anyone ever posts these odds please send me a PM so  I  can bet the over and make some easy money.

It was neat when Gruden designed his offense around Cooper last year.
That's a pretty weak stretch. Cooper's not AB, I like him a lot but he's not AB. Sometimes a QB/WR pairing just does not work.  One example is Hopkins was worse with Osweiller then Sander or Demaryius. With Carr and Cooper I think part of the problem was you had two relatively quiet players who might even be described as not aggressive. Was a bad match. AB's not going to disappear for quarters/games.

I'd also add that while AB has not in my opinion lost a step that Gruden has arguably got the most production out of 30+ year old WR's in the history of the NFL. As I've said before even the corpse of Jordy Nelson started cooking late last year.

Heading into this I viewed Oakland as the 4th best destination for AB's value.  As an AB owner I'd be pretty happy all things considered, which means I'd rather he stayed in Pittsburgh but this is as close to as good  as  I could have expected.

PSA for all of you seemingly caught up in the moment of bashing AB and seem to have forgot just how great he's been. I'll reverse cherry pick. If you take his  last 6 seasons and picked out his WORST numbers each season for catches, yards and TD's it would look like this.

101/1,284/9

You are absolutely right about his production over the last 6 years, it's been insane.  But when people project lower numbers in the future for AB it's due to the new situation he will be in and not about him specifically.  Will he get as many targets?  Will the QB be able to force him the ball even if he is double covered?  Etc.  AB may stay at his elite level for many years to come, but his production could drop due to circumstances beyond his control.

And if he's not producing at the same level in the new situation who knows how he will react.

Regarding a trade to Oakland, as a (trying-to-be-former) Raiders fan, I’d just like to say: HUH?!?!

what the eff is this team's plan?!

People are bashing Brown because he’s earned it.  His behavior has been worse than sophomoric, and apparently it’s been a habit for a long time with him.  PIT and his teammates finally got tired of putting up with it.  Yeah, he’s been great on the field in an optimal situation for him, and yet he still continued to act like a db so much that PIT simply couldn’t tolerate it any more.

Let’s see how he fairs with his attitude in a less than optimal situation.  He was blessed to get a chance to play where he did and he pissed it away through his own actions.  That’s what has people riled up.
