WR Brandin Cooks, NO (1 Viewer)

Keeping on the bench for Higgins. Rookie QB first start on a short week is a hard pass. I might be wrong but seems like it's not worth the risk.

So far...I am not manly enough for it.  Weighing the propensity for starting off a week with a Thursday night clunker with poor QB play...vs other possible poor QB play if Big Ben is out having Claypool

yeah it's pretty hard to get enthusiastic about it. Lot of doubts with a rookie QB, especially a bad rookie QB

There are plenty of examples of good WRs with lousy quarterbacks. There is also the not so distant memory of Hopkins trying to catch balls from TJ Yates, Ryan Mallett, Brian Hoyer, Brandon Weeden, and Tom Savage.

I’m doing it over guys like Z Pascal, J Meyers, J Waddle and J Cook(TE premium).

I’m banking on some good junk time easy passes, yardage and maybe even a touch. 🤞

15 points and I’ll be happy 😊

struggling to figure out the League Dominator logic

Adams and Lamb are the studs

  • WR3 Cooks v CAR
  • FLEX JJSS v CIN
  • bench Sutton v NYJ
I have it WR3 - Sutton, Flex - Cooks, bench - Smith-Schuster

BUT....if Diontae is out (likely), I could see JuJu put up something ugly like 8-72-1

Hate playing guys on Thursday nights, just never turns out well

Even so...I'm torn between Cooks and Hollywood

Talk me off the ledge

well this was flawed thinking, and in an obvious way

Cooks can go into WR3 or on the bench, but I should leave the Flex open.

That way on Sunday I have the flexibility to plug in Pollard or Javonte. But if I put Cooks in the Flex then I lose that ability to start either a RB or a WR (or TE. if I believed in rostering backups.)

I'll figure out which of the 4 I want later this week.

Cooks is 5th in the league in targets, and his market share is an absurd 34%. His target share amongst the WRs is 57%. Nico is out with an injury, who are they throwing to - 35 year old Danny Amendola? Conley? Roberts? They can't run the ball (3.5 YPC.) Veteran O-line though, should do well in pass protection.

If I had your choice , I would 100% of the time bet the house put it on Brown versus Detroit's depleted secondary. It's not a dilemma friend.

But if you do start Cooks, man is it great having a big league for three days.

Amendola out as well.

Starting Cooks in a non-PPR over JuJu.  Not the hardest decision in the world this week, but if Mills looks awful then I may mix things up next week.

I do the same in such situations.  Actually set most things like that each week with Sunday or Monday night games too.  Putting those players in flex in case something pops up I have more possibilities to plug in a flex option for the later games.

good job men

for those of you who were too skeered to start him, Dave Culley is looking for some interns go handle in game management quality control

if you think you know when to accept a penalty, have the ability to count to three, and are capable of developing a decision chart on GO FOR IT and JUST PUNT, please forward your cv to

I mean…he was the only offense.

Its hard to say half the receptions (thus far with 4ish left in the 4th) and 104 of the 143 yards in the air…hard to say that is sustainable.  But he keeps getting the targets and keeps producing.  Got to roll with him.

23-322-1 & 1-5-0 after Week 3

crazy good value so far

2021 - WR11 after Week 2

2020 - WR17

2018 - WR13

2017 - WR15

2016 - WR10

2015 - WR13

Brandin Cooks caught 9-of-11 targets for 112 yards in the Texans' Week 3 loss to the Panthers.

Even with Tyrod Taylor swapped out for Davis Mills, Cooks remained a usage monster, reaching nine catches for the second consecutive week and 100 yards for the second time in three 2021 tries. Tonight's box score was extra impressive considering how infrequently Mills was allowed to venture down the field. Cooks used his speed to create several wide-open cushions. Cooks is providing some of his best ball in the worst circumstances of his career. The Bills' tough pass defense might finally bring an end to the compiling party in Week 4, but Cooks is clearly an every-week WR3 making a case for WR2 treatment.

Most likely sitting him this week. I have Hollywood vs the Lions, Sutton vs the Jets and Chase against the Steelers. I still like Cooks a lot but I don’t love him with Mills against Car this week.
Well so far this isn’t aging well. Unless those three show up and show out I’ve got some regrets coming my way.

Dang, Cooks is looking QB proof. Hate having the points on the bench (esp. with CMC getting hurt) but if Cooks ends up a low end WR1 the rest of the season it won't really matter in the short term. :)

Brandin Cooks turns 28 on Saturday.

Among WRs <28 yr old, he has

🏈More receptions than Calvin Johnson
🏈More rec. yards than Antonio Brown
🏈Higher yards per target than Randy Moss

Brah.

It's really amazing how many QBs - some really good, some bad - that he's produced with given his movement from team to team. Truly the epitome of a QB-proof WR.
Hold up

True this year

But go back. Brees, Brady, pro bowl version Goff (next year goofy Goff + injuries killed him), Watson
