WR Chimere Dike, TEN (2 Viewers)

So far-15 targets for 18 yards off 7 catches and no they're not all screens at all.

I don't know how much longer they can be patient.
I told y'all this summer how everyone was saying he was nowhere near Elic and now ya see.

I think they need to start thinking-
Year two is fine. Some WRs it's year three til they develop.

There's a point in here that they'll mess with the mental aspect of his game. He's doing great as a returner. Watch that confidence level at WR.

I'm getting nervous here

Understatement. After five weeks, Dike is by a decent margin the #1 kick returner in the NFL. If the season ended tomorrow, he'd be a shoe in first-team All Pro. What that means for him as a developing WR and offensive weapon remains seen, but he is doing more than great as a KR.

Does he just not have mitts? Dropping passes? Or not able to create for himself in a phone booth? Seems when I've seen him he's done decent...he gets noticed. Granted, I don't get to see a lot of the Titans, but it seems like there could be something there. And as mentioned, his return chops are top in the league. I picked him up in some deep leagues (dynasty). I'm willing to hold for another year and see if he grows with Ward. If not, I got him for free and can drop.

I would hold in dynasty for sure. They really like him and he's for sure got some wheels.

He's not in sync with Cam at all.
He doesn't seem to have the spacing/route discipline right as the former WRs say on the radio.
He looks out of sorts like first day of camp but we're into week six.
I posted some highlights earlier.
He'll run into Chig, into a DB, caught looking where he's going not at the ball. Very uncomfortable vibe.

They can't have two WRs struggling if Ridley is. It's just too much.
Last week was weird Prosche is elevated and then inactive the next day. Dike has a huge uptick to 49 percent snaps and did nothing with it. Most of all, the announcers were pointing out Cam stopped throwing to him. He was open, Cam looked, nope.

Finally had a chance to watch the long highlight reel for last weekend's game and liked a lot of what I saw from Cam & Co. in the later stages. He definitely shows flashes of elite potential, especially when playing fast and loose. I like how they look in the 4-min and 2-min offense, as I think you had alluded to before. That said, Cam still makes a lot of rookie errors - small ones like not resetting the RB to the side where pressure is coming from, only to get sacked as a result. Or putting too much power into every pass. I think he can and will get better a those and other details, but collectively, Cam's raw rookie QB attributes are getting in the way right now as much as his lack of reliable receivers.

As for the latter, it was nice to finally see some big plays hit with Ridley. They can now build on that to form new chemistry and momentum. Cam certainly has the arm to target and hit Ridley downfield.

As for Chim Dike... Run a few plays per game where Cam finds him in space in the flat or on backside short/intermediate route concepts, in addition to some chuck it deep shots. Get Chim 3-6 *high quality* receiving targets per game, and importantly, keep letting him impact the game as an All-Pro level KR, where he can keep building momentum and confidence as a player. Even if Chim can just be a dangerous 3rd or 4th target in the offense, that would be just fine for this year for Cam and the Titans... As for fantasy, in that sort of best case scenario for this year at least, Chim has legit value in return leagues, but not so much in standard.

Some of the QB gurus say the same about Cam. I hear "routine plays deserve routine throws, get set" from all of them so that must have been a phrase coaches said often back in the day. His athleticism should be more occasional for sure and is sometimes a bit much.
Idk about the hard passes. That was discussed predraft and had college coaches and....people discussed Favre and some others. I agreed with you 💯 but there is some niche group of QBs that ya can't break that out of and they've gone on to be very good QBs too. Some are wondering if he's one of them.
3-6 sounds so reasonable for a young guy. Let's throw him a few til he gets acclimated. I've probably said it myself.
But it's a lot with Dike.
Elic is clearly above. They're doing that with him. If there's two then we're talking 6-12 let's see how this works type throws.
Ridley- mentioned- his drops and the big expectations for him.
I worry that's just too much all combined.

(Dike was a surprise contributor. Van and Oliver were well ahead of him all camp. He was gifted this spot. Not earned. Probably pretending he's more than a 4th round pick)

The radio WRs said back then how it was a questionable decision and they have to get Dike running routes that suit him doing things he does well. Gotta get him confident and use that speed to get him going.

Now he's been in the backfield, done end arounds, taken off deep, screens, one cut over the middle, a fast slang.

So for me, sort of advised listening to these guys on the radio, I see the Titans did do that with Dike. I'm in a "now what" state of mind and...how long can they be patient and what I said earlier.

What if he is "just" a great returner? We've seen plenty of WRs be that over the years. I think that conclusion is formed in like year three.

For now I'm wondering if Van or Oliver need to play for the simple we need production.
