WR D.J. Chark, ATL (2 Viewers)

The stars are aligning. Jags are a mess defensively and will need to throw to keep up. Chark is on the off-season all-hype team which is raising his ADP unfortunately. I think last seasons numbers are a floor for him but I am not sure his ceiling is too much higher. I am a big fan of Shenault and think he gets involved early and often if healthy. Cole and Dede have both flashed ability and I think are better than their current reputations place them. Conley is still an option and they added Eifert at TE who if healthy may take away some red zone looks. This is a pretty interesting skill group (and they added Chris Thompson at RB). Chark won’t sneak up on defenses this year as he will be the guy to stop in the passing game. I am not against him improving and think that is likely, but if the hype continues to grow he may be entering overvalued territory.

If you project his last 5 games out to 16, it's 454 yards and 0 TDs. Some might say it was because he hurt his ankle but others might say he got exposed. It's a risky pick people, don't cause yourself the worry. Let me take him and handle the risk for you. 

 
12 team keep 6 league, drafted yesterday and this guy seemed to be poison for some reason.   I had other holes to fill do I kept passing on him, but when it got to me the 6th round (roughly pick #135) and Chark was STILL there,  i had to take him.

I reached for him at 4.2 in one redraft. I don't think I'll regret it. I know I don't regret the Chark/Mostert/Breida for J. Jones/Guice deal I made this past offseason. Chark was the prize of that for me, and even though it is Jones, I was looking for first round value back and sure got it.

He is going to get a ton of garbage points this season.   GM seems to like him.  

 
There are definitely a group of drafters locked in on him. He’s never a first for a roster, but he’s definitely moved up to be a pretty common second. I’m still hopeful to get him as a third.

I think this would be a more accurate counter argument for AJ Brown then one for Chark.  Owning both I didn’t feel Chark was necessarily   big play dependent.

For sure, he had a high TD number though. I’m just illustrating how difficult it is craft an argument against him.

 
No targets in the 2nd half. I guess he did just get lucky last year. He'll be a WR4/5 if the low volume continues. 

 
Very true.  I got Chark on several teams due to the thinking that they'd be losing a lot and there will be a lot of garbage catches and yards to be gotten, so the Jags need to get to losing early in many games. :P

 
4-84-0 today, but only 4 targets.  And they were losing most of the game.  Only 7 targets in two games.  Getting a bit more concerned.  The good news is that the next month has some good match-ups.

Yes all the damage was done in the first half. Minshew seems comfortable spreading the ball around at the moment. To Cole especially. I'd like to see the "dominant WR" from training camp re-emerge. 

 
Yeah it seems that Cole has the Crowder role in this Gruden offense, which has been the most reliable role over the years. I'm getting a bit worried for Chark but at least he's been producing. Don't really want to carry two JAX wideouts but I'm probably going to put a bid in for Cole

 
Yeah not sure what's going on with Chark/Minshew. They had a strong connection last year so hopefully they can get back to that. There doesn't seem to be any urgency to get Chark involved at this point though.

 
Jaguars WR D.J. Chark is fourth on the team in wide receiver targets through two games. 

After catching all four of his Week 2 targets for 84 yards, Chark has seven targets on the season, or 11 percent of Jacksonville's target share. Keelan Cole leads all Jaguars receivers with 13 targets, and Laviska Shenault and Chris Conley each have eight targets. It's certainly not what fantasy players expected headed into the 2020 season after Chark commanded 20.9 percent of the team's targets in 2019. Pass-heavy game scripts could boost Chark's total targets, though it seems unlikely Cole, Shenault, and Conley will take a backseat to Chark this year.

Simply not enough volume. Efficient as all get out when the ball comes his way, but it's not coming his way all too often. They've scored over twenty-one or so points the past two games, so I'm not seeing it increase too, too much. 

 
Yeah i don't likely. I'm going to watch the game again and see if he's getting open and just not getting the ball or what. 

 
D.J. Chark (chest) was limited in Monday's practice.

It's a new injury for Chark but not one that should keep him out of Thursday night's Week 3 date with the Dolphins. Chark has seen just seven targets through two games, but he's reeled in all of them for 109 yards and one touchdown against the Colts and Titans. Chark should be viewed as a volatile WR3 moving forward with Garnder Minshew spreading the ball around and the Jaguars playing at a molasses-slow pace.

I got through one play and turned the All-22 tape off. The first play of the game Chark runs a skinny post and is literally wide open. Minshew decides to throw it to another player who is triple covered when the ball arrives. 

Minshew will hear about that when they are reviewing the game. If he hits Chark in stride he's off to the races and maybe scores. Horrible. 

 
Lol I don't think I need to watch anymore. 3rd play of the game Chark runs a go route and the safety slides away from him so all Minshew has to do is let it fly. (I never see his full number so I'm guessing it's Chark there. By the way he runs by the defender it seems like him.) There is no help on the back side of that play. That's a long completion and probably a TD if Minshew hits him in stride. Chark had his man beat by two steps but it would have been more by the time the ball got there. Hard to get more open than that in the NFL. 

Minshew did complete the pass for a first down though.

In Milkman's defense, I was having an awfully hard time discerning who Chark was out there. I think it's the unis. He's number seventeen, but it seems awfully hard to make out. Usually you can tell by how a guy lines up, but I wasn't able to place the number with any particularities to him lining up, either. Some might call him nondescript. I'd call him effortless. 

 
You guys have me amped for Thursday. I have Chark and Robinson on my dynasty team from a suddenly potent JAX offense. This might be fun.

Oh, and Shenault is cutting way into Chark's looks. See Matt Waldman today for his take on Shenault. Shenault is the real deal, and I was never, ever sold on him.

Maybe they're safer throws. Not sure. Will watch more but Chark seems to be doing his part.

I believe you when you say he was breaking open or open often and not getting the ball. Minshew was getting rid of the ball like a hot potato. Minshew's aDOT is 19th in the league at 7.8 yards per target. Chark has a 13.4 aDOT and a catch rate of one hundred percent. Sheesh. Looks like we need to see the line block for some plays to develop, fellas.
