WR Davante Adams, LAR (2 Viewers)

I am considering offering Adams, JHill, 2020 2nd for DJ and Singletary
I'd pass there - I like Singletary a ton (actually mocked him to Buffalo in my pre draft write-ups)

I'd pay the 2020 2nd and Hill probably for Singletary if you can get him.  I'd want a slightly younger RB than DJ if I'm dealing Adams long term dynasty.

This is a few years old but seems relevant, has an interesting table describing the return to action timeline, and the article has references cited. I'm not presenting it as though it represents the truth, rather it is just more information that may or may not be useful. If the table is correct, this would *seem* to put Adams in the second category (grade 2), but he hasn't come back yet. I suppose this week will possibly be the pivot for this debate.

I'm worried. The words "I'm improving" coming from an athlete don't mean anything to me. One way or the other. It's good, it's not bad, but ultimately doesn't mean anything. I own him in two spots and am *not* wanting him to be out. So as far as the inherent bias of owning a player is concerned, I guess I have an anti-bias since I really, really want (need) him to play but I am fearing the worst.

I feel like I have to say this all the damn time around here, but as fantasy players we *must* read the tea leaves. It's. What. We. Do. No that isn't what doctors do, but we shouldn't be holding forum posters to the same standard as a doctor, lawyer, expert, etc., just because a poster happens to have medical expertise (debatable or not). Everyone can spout their opinion, informed or not, and that's fine. This back and forth #### makes this board unreadable at times.

My reading of the tea leaves is that he isn't playing this week and the fact that it is a Sunday night game means I have to preempt by starting someone else tonight or during the day Sunday. In one spot I have some good options, in the second spot I am debating seriously of starting Pringle tonight. If Adams ends up playing, I'd be screwed but c'est la vie, much in the same way you might fold a big poker hand and see later that it would have won, you live with it, take your lumps and move on. But a decision must be made, so tea leaves it is.

*In the previous paragraph I am assuming Pringle scores less than what Adams will if he plays, a good bet but not a sure thing.

the Sunday night game is cowboys/eagles.

mn is pats/jets

Me, in a confused Tim the Tool Man Taylor grunt voice : "Eeeehhhhhh??" Must have my wires crossed. Was thinking of the timing re: Amari Cooper.
Yeah, that one is vexing me too.

picked up Austin just in case he’s a GTD. Sounds like he’ll also be out tho. :(

hopefully marquis brown goes or I’ll be choosing between Austin or Lazard. Ugh.

Sounds like Cooper has the same thing TY Hilton had 2 weeks, back after the bye -

I'd rather have Cooper ROS than Adams though.

No Adams, MVS or Allision today btw.  Lazard is interesting.  Thinking about adding him for Corey Davis.
I actually added Corey Davis over Lazard in one league. I think Davis with Tannehill is intriguing. More so than a guy off the practice squad who had one good quarter of football.

Same it's the reason why I haven't dropped him yet. Was trying to find a way to bring Lazard in.

In a 10 team redraft, I traded TY Hilton straight up for Adams.
I have TY and I’d never give him for Adams under his condition. Besides the toe problem, I just don’t believe Rodgers and Adams connection is as strong as TY and Brissett. But that’s just me.

What the heck are you basing your opinion on? Ty has played how many games with Brissett? And Rodgers to Adams isn’t a strong connection?

there’s reasons to favor TY but connection to QB ain’t one of them.

Rodgers Lobbied for Lazard

Rodgers Best Call on MNF

Rodgers Perfect Passer Rating to Lazard

Lazard tells Rodgers the Route to Run

This sound like 1 good quarter of football or the potential 1st Chapter of a New Book? Vs Corey Davis who continues to underwhelm and you like Ryan Tannehill over Aaron Rodgers?

Just take a minute Shady, there's plenty of time to pivot before the games start. Not trying to argue as much as share my POV based on what I am reading.

Rodgers has praised Kumerov and wanted him to be a thing and make the roster and play way more before too.

I want both of these players to see what happens.  Drop somebody else :)

Ok, show me similar stories where he pined for him to be in the game and yelled at the sidelines, then is logged thru the media communicating back and forth calling plays and routes...I have a hard time believing it is anything like this narrative.

I'm sure Rodgers loves all his teammates in a way but he was basically telling the coaching staff what to do, I find that fascinating and an important part of this narrative.

I'm already driving the hype train in the Lazard thread, I don't want to take over the Adams thread. Davante is clear WR1, not sure I see a clear WR2, think Lazard has a chance to be a guy who can make a difference. His size is what makes me feel he can stay out there in 3 WR sets, not sure which WR he replaces when he is out there but the chemistry he and Rodgers seemed to share instantly cannot be overlooked.

I'm not going to lie, I looked at Davis too but I'm biased BEACAUSE I owned him until a month ago, finally gave up on him in my 2-3 man keeper league.

But I also know Tannehill a little better than some of you, this is not anyone you want to rely on for anything. I watched him for years and years in Miami, not optimistic.

Rodgers was lobbying for Kumerow to start last season, this was perhaps a backhanded way of saying he had no trust in the other WR running their routes properly and also that he had no trust in the coaching staff playing their best players.

Kumerow got hurt so we never got to see if Rodgers confidence in Kumerow would manifest into producing in games.

Kumerow isn't hurt now but in the most recent game vs the Lions he was not getting open.

He doesn't have to be good for WR to produce, he just has to actually throw the damn ball instead of stand there and get sacked.

Look at the INT vending machine known as Jameis and how his WRs produce :)

This is true.  But one of those players (Lazard & Kumerow) had an impact, the other one flopped when Rodgers looked to him and then disappeared for the rest of the night.

New quote from an hour ago from Devante Adams. depending on how you define improvement, this sure sounds like an improvement.

very likely still out this week, but it sounds like he’s not too far off.

take it how you would like.

(1 hr ago) Adams (toe) wasn't present Thursday for the Packers' practice session, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Though Adams was a spectator for the Packers' second consecutive practice of Week 7, the wideout noted after the session concluded that his sprained right toe feels "a million times better" compared to when he initially got injured Sept. 26 against the Eagles, per Schneidman.

Huh... injuries hurt less weeks after you originally hurt them... go figure

sure its good hes improving but that doesnt tell me anything on how soon he is coming back. Hope its next week, but not planning on it

Another offer I got for my Adams.   In case anyone is shopping on either side

Matt Ryan, Davante Adams, Fournette

Rivers, Cooper, Kamara.

(I own Lamar so get a ton of offers for one of my QBs)

I like this deal for you. I’m not a Fournette fan though, and IMO Amari comes back after the BYE fully healed up and WR1-5 ROS.

rivers is a downgrade for Ryam & has a tough schedule, but he’s always been a gamer & has his TE back.

plus the Chargers D sucks, so he’ll be in shootouts.

I probably take this. Cooper’s timeline is more predictable.

And @Dr. Dan do we have an agreement with @Hot Sauce Guy on this one? Bringing the parents together on this one! One big happy FBG family.

edit to add I’m high on Fournette a ton. He’s getting tons of snaps and receptions.

This Adams' injury is really tough to figure out. Someone wants to make a deal tonight only and offering me Adams, Hilton or Allen Robinson for Brissett in a superflex league. Got Wentz as a 2nd qb so obviously gonna take one of them but really really want to pull the trigger on Adams. Seems TY Hilton or Robinson is the wise play though, no? Man, really need another week to see if he feels a billion times better.

This Adams situation is really tricky to figure out. Got a guy that wants to trade by tonight only so he can have my player this Sunday. He'll give me Adams, TY Hilton or Allen Robinson for Brissett in a superflex where I have Watson & Wentz. Obviously I'll take one of them but the greedy part of me wants Adams. Smart play is either Hilton or Robinson though, isn't it?

Really really wish I had another week to see if he feels "a billion times" better by then.
