He is flying under the radar right now. He is a buy for me
AJ is indeed still the #1 option. Fitzpatrick trusts him and will continue to feed him. DeAndre made one guy miss on a short-medium pass and just ran untouched for his big TD in week 1. Other than that he didn't do much. Week 2, incredible throw/catch on the back shoulder on the sidelines for the TD. Fitzy put it where only DeAndre could get it.Bumping this for input from Houston homers? Obviously they haven't had to throw much this year, but he's still putting up decent numbers. How is he looking in the offense?
I know he has more points but seems like AJ still top target with 16 vs 10 and 12 vs 7 in catches, so is Hopkins just more of the big play guy and will be more volatile?
That's what I was thinking. He only has 10 targets but that represents 25% of their passing game. Per Fly's point above, sounds like outside Hopkins & AJ the cupboard's bare. The time to buy is now. The Texans have only passed the ball 41 times through 2 weeks. They have not had to pass a ton yet. Now, they are never going to become a passing team with Fitz at the helm and want to control games. However, there is no way they continue winning in the NFL while only passing 20 times a game. Hopkins will get more targets than he has through 2 weeks, and although the TD's won't continue at a pace of 1 per game, he will catch more balls and have more yards going forward. He is a nice buy especially in dynasty.

Had a deal for him but pushed for Sammy Watkins instead. #tshirtHas Hopkins arrived?
Hard for me to have faith, but 2 Tds in weeks 1 and 2 and tops 100 yards on 9 targets and 6 receptions while AJ has a quiet night.
I wanna believe. My hesitation isn't with Hopkins it's with fitzpatrick and that horrific Houston offense. Can it really support a Hopkins breakout? It sure seems to be rt now through 3 weeks.
This kid is playing himself into my starting lineup.
The 53 yard catch was something else. One of most athletic plays I've seen for a while. Hopkins hands =He apparently could have had over 160 yards. He had a highlight reel 53 yard grab called back by penalty or something. I didn't see it but heard it was ridiculous.

I don't know how anyone could top that catch. The $6mm question. He is definitely talented enough to get open...but if he is constantly bracketed by opposing defenses I can't see how that will be good for his production. We'll have to see how AJs injury is. Does Deandre still have this kind of success without AJ on the other side?
I think the kid has boat loads of talent. Once AJ moves on we will get that answer. But I think he will be fine. The $6mm question. Florio reported he's fine. Thought he heard a pop but apparently nothing wrong found. We'll have to see how AJs injury is. Does Deandre still have this kind of success without AJ on the other side?
I own both so good news.Florio reported he's fine. Thought he heard a pop but apparently nothing wrong found. We'll have to see how AJs injury is. Does Deandre still have this kind of success without AJ on the other side?
AJ was supposed to be helping him prepare to take over for him in the offseason actually. the production supports the premise too.Is he just a solid #2 or can he be the guy in Houston when AJ retires?
DeAndre Hopkins caught 6-of-6 targets for 63 yards in Houston's Week 5 loss to the Cowboys.
Hopkins has now cleared 60 yards in 4-of-5 games despite drawing more than six looks only once. His three touchdowns have delighted fantasy owners, but his usage remains that of a boom-or-bust WR3, and not a WR2. Hopkins and the Texans host Vontae Davis and the Colts on a short week for Week 6.

DeAndre Hopkins caught just 1-of-2 targets for 12 yards in Houston's Week 6 loss to the Colts.
Hopkins' missed connection could have been classified as a third-drop drop by a harsh grader, but it wasn't a ball that had to be caught. Two targets were obviously Hopkins' fewest of the season, but he's now averaging just 5.5 looks through the Texans' first six games. That's not nearly enough to keep up as a WR2, and barely even enough to be a WR3. Hopkins will look to get more involved in a nice Week 7 matchup with the Steelers.

My friend and I stared at the screen in awe and after the play had concluded shared this exact same sentiment. What in the hell was that? I've never seen a player more afraid to dive at a loose ball in my life.Worst effort I've ever seen of him trying not to recover that last fumble. Dude should be benched.
GAMER!“I kind of judged it wrong,” Hopkins said. “I couldn’t really see the way it was bouncing. After looking at it, I definitely think I could of dove and got it. Out there on the field, I thought too much.”
“That was a long game,” Hopkins said. “There is about an hour or 60 minutes in a game and I don’t think that five seconds or however long decided the outcome of the game. We had a lot of turnovers and they had turnovers. It’s football.”

Fumbles happen. Hopkins' lack of hustle after Johnson's fumble is much more troubling.

Game ends on lost fumble that Texans' DeAndre Hopkins doesn't even dive after....wow, check out the video, he just stands there..

What a terrible effort by Hopkins.

Ball rolling right to Hopkins. He prances toward it and then jumps on the back of the Colt who recovers. I'm sure teammates loved that.

Andre Johnson always leaves everything on the field. DeAndre Hopkins didn't want to get hit on game-deciding play. Shameful.

Hopkins was less than interested in recovering a game altering fumble apparently

Hopkins needed to dive in there. Geez.
Why say this? On the field, he clearly decided very quickly that he definitely couldn't get it.GAMER!“I kind of judged it wrong,” Hopkins said. “I couldn’t really see the way it was bouncing. Still happy?Traded for this guy and after reading this thread I'm very very happy.
It's not in a WR's mentality to run across the field and dive for the football. The sentence in red says everything. The moment you think too much is the moment you make mistakes. Why say this?
