WR DeAndre Hopkins, BAL (1 Viewer)

Another year and a half untill he becomes a free agent. I'm sure hes happy as hell he didn't get an extension done this offseason.

Maybe they know they can't afford to sign him long term and trade him to save the 7 mil next season.

Texans are officially through the tough part of their schedule. It's pretty much a cakewalk in terms of bad pass defenses the rest of the year. I'll give him the next few games and if him and Osweiler continue to struggle, then I might have to consider benching him some weeks but I am confident he will bounce back against these crappy defenses.

If Osweiler wasn't rostered I'd pick him up for Week 8. Case Keenum went 27/32 with a couple of drops.

If Fuller got dropped go get him.

If Slay (hammy) misses the game, good chance DeAndre goes over 150. If Brock gets hurt & Weeden comes in, 200.

At home against inferior talent, Texans will roll. Stafford & Co will match them. Bet the house on the over.

 
How low can you go and get this guy, and at what point are you overpaying?  RB2/WR3 territory?

If someone took him at 1.05-1.09, endured the worst part of the schedule, what's the benefit of moving him now with 6 green light matchups coming up?

I do think he's a good buy low candidate. Dude had 100 yard games from four different QBs in 2015. But I think you'd have to up it to a Cooks/Freeman type offer to get serious consideration?

Unfortunately, Brock has absolutely no vertical game. If for any reason Weeden took over he'd be an instant top 5 ROS.

Yes, but probably a great buy low opportunity if you believe in his talent. This was a player that was untouchable when the season began and couldn't be had at any price. Now his owners might be willing to consider a deal, depending on the offer.

I have to believe or at least I hope this is the nadir of the Nuk/Osweiler association and that Brock is not as bad as he appeared tonight as many of the Broncos players had an axe to grind for his comments after he left the team and Osweiler may have let the pressure of facing his old teammates get to him.  I would assume things would have to improve from this point on.

That said I am not certain, offhand, what his dynasty value is at the moment. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I may be tendering offers to some uneasy Nuk owners later in the week.

Well, Nuk is going to have to prove it to me first. I'm tired of watching him struggle just to get 4 rec for 40 yds. I'm starting Cobb over him until I see the connection between Brock and him finally click.

I have Ty Montgomery in a dynasty league and the Hopkins owner is interested in a swap, with me sending some $. Looking at Nuk's schedule, things start to open up for the next month and a half. 

 
The only reason I'm a little optimistic is because the targets are still there.  Brock is such a terrible QB though that he just stares Hopkins down and throws it to him.  I don't think it's that hard for a CB to cover.  So expect lots of 15 targets/5 catches type of games.  And we know he's not going to be catching anything deep.

 
Maybe wrong place but Im looking to buy Hopkins in a re-draft.... Thoughts on a starting point for price? My WR 3-5 are alshon, baldwin, and cobb--- is two of them for Hopkins fair? too much? 

 
My problem is I have ODB and Brandon Marshall then a huge drop off after that at WR.  I'd like to get him as my WR3 somehow, so not sure who I'm going to give up to get him.  My RB's are middling RB2's, so not sure the owner will bite at a RB2 offer straight up.  I have thought about Marshall for Nuk, but can't pull the trigger on that.  Pretty sure the Nuk owner would do it, however I think I would be ripping myself off.  Hopkins has just been horrible this year, but I think now is the time to buy.  Hence why I asked above how low would you go to offload him?

I'm in a very similar predicament. I have Evans, DT and then a huge drop-off (Meredith). My RB's are Bell, McKinnon, Matt Jones, Jordan Howard, Booker, Gillislee, and DHenry.

Pretty sure I could offer DT for Nuk and it would be accepted. But that a big risk since I have no other serviceable WR's. 

Also have Brady & Eifert, so could try to move them in a package deal...

Thinking about offering Matt Jones + Gilly but almost positive that won't be accepted.

I would take Marshall for Hopkins in a heartbeat.  

 
Nuk is not tradeable right now. His schedule gets wayyyyyyy easier going forward. Not to mention, if the Brockness Monster keeps doing his thing, he will get benched and things will get rosier just because. Hold, hold, hold.

Guys pose here often that really only know so much.. 

It cant always hurt to provide at least two names of similar value.  Lets be honest here..  I dont wish to manage additional teams or Id have an additional team.  So yeah I dont visit "A.C" for much of anything..

Anyway Cobb could be on the uptick..  I may be one of the best/worst guys in Cobb's corner..  I drafted him as a rookie.  Guys had trmendous games to start a Season, while being non-existent in Big games..  (Id look at the track history of upcoming games)  I wanna say some might believe his 10-11 catch game recently may not be a fluke.  But yeah I was really wanting to cut his ### just a few days ago..  (I wants Studs not players)

Id think to see if ya could package Cobb with a RB..  Most guys like, and/or feel the need to roster extra RB's..  Dealing Nuk may not be their priority, but ya wanna feed that inner beast who sees green grass on the other side of the fence!

Alshon and Cobb may be a nice combo, depending upon his team makeup  (he might like using Cobb for bye's)  Honestly, though Id almost be happy ya got rid of Cobb, more than possibly overpaying for Nuk  (poor Guy has no QB imo)

Starting to think about shopping him in a contract league. I have him for 2 more years and am dreading the thought of Osweiler flailing around for both of them. Missing the glory days of Yates and Mallett.

 
Terrible, thought he would get back on track with a great matchup. I don't know what to do with him now. Schedule is easy but Brock is so inept.

Osweiler has proven that there aren't any easy defenses. We have been waiting for this easy part of the schedule all season. Well it's here and Osweiler still has rendered Hopkins as useless. We just have to pray the backup sees the field soon.  

 
Sell for anything you can get at this point? I almost feel like I'd be better off dropping him then I wouldn't end up starting him every week. Season killer.

 
I was so happy trading for him three weeks ago. Traded Reed for him and then the concussion reports came out three hours later. It felt like a total steal. If only I knew. No clue what to do with him at this point. Hopefully brock gets his confidence back. I think I'll just keep rolling him out there because I'm a sucker for nuk. He's on pace for 800 yards. It's criminal really.

 
The funny thing is in the beginning of the year fuller was balling out and people were saying nuk may not be the stud wr we thought because the targets wouldn't be there. The fuller got hurt and the targets piled up but osweiler got so bad all of a sudden.

Somewhere in this thread or the Laman Miller one, I said back in e summer that Miller and nuk owners were going to be generally disappointed because the expectations were so high.  It's like some of you guys didn't watch the games last year and only look at stats.  It was completely unsustainable. The points were manufactured off crap coaching and trailing games and scenarios that just fell like a perfect storm.  It just wasn't going to happen.

And then people acted like osweiller was Russell Wilson instead of the guy that couldn't hold off a lame Peyton Manning.  Did nobody watch his work in Denver?  

Why did everyone say there was such a reason the genius broncos made the offer to get Anderson back (because they knew something about the Player) but didn't on a "franchise" qb?  

And then there were the people who thought Lanark Miller would evoke the spirit of the prime Arian foster years but completely ignored the facts of what had changed over the years and the reality that their coach, Bob, is NOT Kubiak.

You can say "oh stop" but you're the one living with the regret, not me.  Like I said, it was easy to see coming.

Actually you wrote a ton of posts like that in April.

Of 2015.

You wrote Hopkins 2014 was a fluke, AJ was still the man drawing all the coverage, Nuk wouldn't find it as being the man in 2015, AJ with Luck was going to be a steal in redrafts, but Hopkins was a sucker bet.

Yup and I was looking in the Lamar Miller thread for ####s and giggles and didn't see anything about Hopkins (last summer at least)   :shrug:    

 
I expected Nuk's targets to drop. I watched enough of Osweiler in 2015 to realize he's not special, but I didn't think it mattered. Hopkins became the first player in NFL history to have 100 yard games with four different QBs in the same season in 2015. Two WRs have topped 3,500 yards by age 24: Randy Moss, and DeAndre.

I expected him to be less productive than last year, but anybody that claims they're not surprised he's a borderline WR2/3 halfway through the season is being disingenuous.

Ok but who cares what he said in 2015. He said he thought people who drafted nuk would be severely disappointed and right there in your link in thread two and four is proof he did say that same exact thing. That being said, he's lying if he thought nuk would be barely roster worthy.
