WR DeAndre Hopkins, BAL (2 Viewers)

Ok but who cares what he said in 2015. He said he thought people who drafted nuk would be severely disappointed and right there in your link in thread two and four is proof he did say that same exact thing. That being said, he's lying if he thought nuk would be barely roster worthy.
But I think the point is that if he said that in April of 2015, his prediction wasn't exactly right.  Nuk had a great year in 2015      So he would have been off by a year.

Actually you wrote a ton of posts like that in April.

Of 2015.

You wrote Hopkins 2014 was a fluke, AJ was still the man drawing all the coverage, Nuk wouldn't find it as being the man in 2015, AJ with Luck was going to be a steal in redrafts, but Hopkins was a sucker bet.

Congrats.
I also started the post the exact week to get Dez Bryant when he broke out, correctly predicted the broncos rb to have for three straight years, said that Martellus Bennett would be worth something when he went from the Cowboys to the Giants, recommended picking up Arian foster and Spencer ware when they were unknowns, opined that Eddie Lacy would be good down The stretch of the season his first year, and  posted last year when David Johnson finally got to play in his first pre-season game that people should enjoy the beginning of a beautiful ride.

What's your point?  I have 10,000 posts.  I've said a lot of things and they can't all be about cutting the cable or who I like for president.  I've missed some things and I've been dead on with others but all of that is irrelevant to my only point in this particular thread in that I said owners of these two will be relatively disappointed because it won't be what a lot of you guys were slobbering and dreaming about in July and apparently I am correct or there wouldn't be a few of you so butt hurt over it that you want to be snarky about it.  If you were right, you'd just point to his success.  Instead, you spent half this thread crying about how he's killing your ff team and trying to paint a picture that seemingly nobody saw this coming.   Well, some did.  Sorry it hurt your ff season.

Wow dude. It's not that serious

Wow dude. It's not that serious
I know. And it wasn't to me when all is said was "I can't believe some people didn't see this coming." But then when a handful of people want to take it personally and gripe, you just get tired of listening to the whine.  It gets to the point where it has very little to do with anything beyond the fact that some people just want to reply and gripe at anything.  If you say the sky is blue, somebody wants to take exception with you.  It's just tiresome.

Buy Hopkins....

The time is NOW
i was offered MJones + MBennett for DHopkins + GBarnidge

couldn't pull the trigger given Hopkins' schedule.  I know Brock has been awful but I didn't see that much difference in Jones (frustrated with his production and targets) plus he has a bye and Minny def twice over the next 4 weeks.  just sharing what buyers are offering...

Are people still trotting this guy out there?  I know his schedule is easy but he has done virtually nothing this year to warrant even flex play.  As long as Brock remains QB, I don't think it matters who the opponent is.  Expect a lot of 5/50/0 the rest of the year.

He's going to the bench until that noodle armed statue gets pulled. I was convinced for awhile that Nuk was QB proof. I was wrong. Nobody could survive this  :tfp:

I'm starting :gulp: Garcon off the WW over my #1 pick.  :wall:

Deciding between him and Kelley at flex. I dont know what it is but I just cant quit Nuk.

Still starting in a deep 12 team league where Im loaded-- can take his relative high floor 5-50ish-- w/ the hope he gets going because Im starting Brady/Bell/Ware/Evans/TY around him...

Maybe this is the week??? :)

Probably starting him over Howard in my FLEX. He hasn't scored a TD in over a month, so maybe this is the week he breaks his streak. Another great matchup for him.

Howard is near an RB1. Id play him for sure.
I guess, I just don't like the matchup and Fox seems to hate rookies so I could see him giving Langford/Carey touches for no reason. I just hate having to bench Hopkins in such a great matchup, but maybe it is the right move (Miller and Ware are my other RBs, Evans/Pryor/Hopkins/Sheppard are my receivers).

If no Gronk, I'm benching Hopkins for Bennett. Yes, it's a good matchup, but I said the same thing a few weeks ago, when he played the Lions

In over Marvin Jones and Landry.  I'd be more inclined to bench him but then I almost benched AR15 last week too and well...

I just traded for Hopkins (sent T West for Hopkins and A Blue to 'cuff to Miller) and I am concerned about starting him this week.  I'm not necessarily concerned about OAK secondary, but I am concerned that Stadium Azteca is a MILE AND A HALF ABOVE SEA LEVEL!?!?!?!  For those of you playing at home that is 50% higher elevation than playing in Denver.  Skill position players will probably regularly rotate in and out and Brock is going to have even more zip on the ball than usual (which is not a good thing, all he does is throw bullets even on short yardage throws).

Anyone have thoughts on playing in Mexico City or in elevation?

with how often Houston goes 3 and out--- i think hell be fine

Ok I gave him way too many chances. I'm finally benching him next week. Just so sick of watching this. I actually started him over kelley at flex. :puke:

I'm hoping he gets to 5/50 tonight.  Terrible waste of a first round pick.

Is it just me or does it seem like he gets no separation off the line anymore? Not saying brock isn't the biggest reason for his sucking but I think he has to share some of the blame.

Yeah I agree that he has to take some of the blame.  Although I wonder if he's just not motivated because he knows his QB can't get him the ball.  Either way, huge concern going into next year.

Sucks the refs screwed him out of the TD, but yea, not sure I can start him going forward anymore. I'll probably start Pryor over him at my WR2 and Jordan Howard at my FLEX. What a shame.

I think it's a combination of Osweiler sucking, the offense not having any sort of creativity and Nuk having some trouble getting separation when he gets jammed. Mainly the first 2 things though.

I agree that it's not all on Osweiler. Lamar Miller is quietly having a solid season (with shockingly very few receptions) despite defenses keying on him. So while it's easy to say it's on Osweiler, Hopkins isn't doing that much to bail out his QB.

First game I got to watch him since September. It's criminal how they don't even look for him. His separation isn't much different than what he had in previous years but this QB will not throw it up to him and let him make a play where scrubs like Hoyer, Mallett and Yates would.

The 2nd and goal play from the 5. He's single covered waving at Oz like most stud WRs do. He didn't even look at him. Instead he threw it to Braxton Miller who quit on the corner router but they luckily got a PI.

6 targets for a stud like Hopkins. That's criminal. They basically use him as a decoy.

He was getting more targets earlier in the year but him and Brock have not been on the same page all year.

Every other game he pretty much has double digit targets. That was actually his most efficient game.

Can the Houston coaching staff just sit down and think of ways to get this guy the ball? 8 straight weeks of under performance. If this was a 1 year wonder like Braylon Edwards or something we just say he's regressing.

The dude averaged 15 yds a catch for his first 3 seasons. Now he's averaging 10.8? Something ain't right.

He has the worst QB in the league throwing him the ball

I get it but were Hoyer, Mallet and Yates much better (if at all). A lot of the blame has to go on coaching too. Not getting some easy plays to run Hopkins open so Os can make easier throws.

Yep, I agree with this completely.

While Osweiler is really bad and a major factor in Hopkins' downfall, the offensive playcalling and designs aren't helping at all. I never see any deep shots to Hopkins, it always seems like 5-10 yard outs or crossing routes. You've got to find ways to get the ball in your playmakers' hands. They do the same thing with Lamar Miller. They run him up the gut all game and rarely run plays that puts him in open space or throw him the ball, where he excels at the most.

Yup and Osweiler is rarely able to complete these to poor Hopkins.

I know Brock is bad but I can't possible agree with this.
I dunno, Hoyer led the NFL I yrds/comp in 2014 and had four straight 300 yard games this year. May not be a good QB but he can chuck it. Brock has no vertical element to his game.

That's the biggest reason Hopkins is having a down year, but geez Osweiller doesn't even have the arm for bubble screens or quick slants. He's constantly throwing the ball to the wrong shoulder. If his receivers makes the adjustment & manages to catch the DB is on top of him. Really not sure what the Texans think his strength is but he's pretty close to being the worst starting QB in the NFL.

Yeah, last night the announcers complained on a crossing route that Hopkins didn't get separation.  But on the replay, it showed that Osweiler threw a flat ball behind Hopkins.  If he had thrown with more arc, in front of Hopkins, it was a catch.  Instead, could have been an INT.

He's just not a good QB.
