WR DeAndre Hopkins, TEN (2 Viewers)

DeAndre Hopkins (ankle) did not practice on Friday.

We will need to wait a bit to see the Titans’ practice report before getting an official status for Hopkins, but his Week 2 outlook is currently bleak. Even for a veteran who typically sits out some practices throughout the week, three DNPs put him on the wrong side of questionable at best. If he can’t go, Treylon Burks and Chig Okonkwo will project for considerable roles in an enticing matchup with the Chargers.

DNP today Friday per Jim Wyatt, as posted on CBS. noted this isn't out of the norm for him to suit up and be a full go after no practice sessions, but i'm worried and will need to find someone to fill his spot.

Love Hopkins but was not able to land him. I still believe he can dominate in this league. I really wanted the Giants to after him. What impressed me was the games last year where he dominated with QBs I can’t even recall.

My concern for Hopkins (other than being another year older) is that he moved from a team that passed 664 times to one that only passed 456 times last year. He may still see a lot of targets, but he may also see his fair share of double coverage (TEN isn't exactly loaded with great receiving options).

He has been there done that, so he wasn't answering any question that was will he play, what's the likelihood he plays, what are chances etc.
He didn't look at all concerned about not practicing.
When he was asked if he's done any physical work he said it's football everyday is physical etc.
He didn't bite

Everyone will take one sentence from the exchange and positive or negative roll with it. I'm here trying to say what really happened

@Bri what are your takes on:

- Will Nuk play?
- Does this actually have a measurable, positive effect on Chig?
Or Burks?
I don't know. I have no experience with reading him or these reports. My guess is he plays.
Burks and Henry are to be much more involved and it was a point of contention all week. Vrabel today said they need to be much more efficient (keep them off the field) and how the Chargers moved the ball down the field quickly week one. I think he's saying it'll be a lot of Henry.

Sadly I think we're going towards what I predicted when the GM was hired and not making moves we expected. 0-4, trade Henry and Tannehill, replace Vrabel with "his coach."

Did ya see their pro bowl safety and top corner are out?

I am full of doom n gloom and want positivity badly.

I'd guess a lot of Henry, some Spears and then oh BTW they pass the ball.
I wouldn't start Hopkins in FF.
He got thirteen targets so it's not a bad play at all and if you lack depth, start him.
I'd never predict anything less than 8-9 points for him. It's Nuk.

Just...I lack confidence and think it's a ball control game or blowout

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports DeAndre Hopkins (ankle, questionable) is expected to be active for Week 2 against the Chargers.

Hopkins didn’t practice this week, so there is a real concern he ends up something of a decoy vs. the Bolts. Hopkins hasn’t been particularly effective at less than 100 percent health as he has aged, either. The Chargers’ pass defense looked horrendous in Week 1, but Hopkins will be a risky WR2 in his current state.

I should have known what a terrible mistake playing Hopkins sat Reynolds in 1 league that one is brutal god only knows what other mistakes I have made with this guy.
Writing was on the wall not practicing all week. Does not matter if this is your 1st year or 34th year playing this game you still make mistakes.

They were smothering him all game. I wouldn't say decoy.
Titans should have been able to get everyone else involved and short of some big plays they couldn't.

DeAndre Hopkins (ankle) did not practice on Friday.

Hopkins popped up on Thursday’s injury reported and was listed as a limited participant. The veteran receiver battled through the same ankle injury in Week 2 against the Chargers, but seems to be trending in the wrong direction this week. The fact he played in Week 2 despite missing all three practices last week is enough for us to not rule him out heading into the weekend, but fantasy managers should have other plans in place if he is held out.

Wyatt quotes him on the Titans site if you want to read.

He was quite cryptic in his responses to if he's playing. He doesn't miss many games, following Vrabel's plan, etc.

I'd lean towards he's playing but be on the ready.

A reporter was clever and asked if he's traveling to CLE and he confirmed. Don't take that out of context

Really appreciate all your updates on the Titans. Thanks 👍

Yesterday I watched the video and thought he's playing. Today I lean towards he's not- same exact video. Ooof it's tough. Ya gotta watch and make the call yourself. He did great hiding it and being cryptic which we hate for FF but Vrabel probably loves.

Why would you drop a guy who has led his team in targets the first 2 games? He certainly was not a decoy. Now, I have no idea if he'll be active for Sunday's game, but unless you're in a very small league with no bench spots, he is not a drop.
agreed. you should not drop him.

But I dont think you'd be out of line to bench him. if the ankle is that bad, I hope they sit him a week or two. get him right.
I do agree, what he did last week could probably be seen as the floor if he does play. but I have players on my bench who should be able to outperform that, and if hes bad to a point where he may not play, that(or something similar) is probably what he will do next week.

but do not drop him. If you do, I think you will be sad you made this move once he gets fully healthy.

I own Burks also, and am kinda hoping they sit Hopkins. Right now I have Burks already in my lineup.

well, if he hasnt improved from last week I think they need to sit him.
hes a game changing player when healthy but right now hes not. and if they keep playing him like this it could slow that recovery time. a week of rest and rehab could work some wonders.

What a horrendous decision to sign with the freaking TItans. Money talks but everyone knew he was going to a terrible situation where he'd end up getting pissy and wanting out.

I don't feel bad for him one bit.

I know it won't happen but it'd be cool to see the Texans right the wrongs of BOB and get Dhop back. Stroud could use a stud veteran to throw to.

Trade rumors are starting to pick up for Hopkins. Is he a buy low candidate?
Just some shmoo no reputable reporter saying so.
This is a week after the Titans were on a reputable reporters list of teams Davante could be traded to.

Ian clearly had a detailed conversation with someone as you can tell in his gmfb report. He'd have broke this if it were true

His agent doesn't want him signing cards and memorabilia til after the trade deadline.

I can't decide if this means anything...time will tell

Honestly it's got to be the Bills. Their d is banged up- they just let the Patriots look like a competent offensive unit. They're in their window and can't afford to sit on their hands and act like the AFC is a murderer's row again this year and throw in the towel. The Phins are beatable. The Chiefs still haven't figured out their offense and if teams start to actually just man up Kelce, they're going to be searching for an answer. Ravens and Jags are good but not juggernauts.

Allen and Diggs can only do so much. Buffalo has to be desperate right now and get their season on track. One or two more weapons on O might just make them lethal again. Davis ain't it.

Kelce has played 26 games since Tyreek left. Over a full season, his numbers in those games would project to 119-1386-13. I'm guessing if there was a potion or magic elixir that opponents could drink to slow Kelce down, teams would have consumed it by now. Even with no other receiving threats to really worry about, teams still can't cover Kelce. Wouldn't it make more sense for the Chiefs to pursue Hopkins than the Bills?

Nuk just tweeted he never even heard of the company that posted this

Not at practice or on injury report today

They've been late to report a rest or personal day before though

Tennessee Titans injury report: Thursday, October 26

  • WR DeAndre Hopkins (non-injury related rest): Limited participation
like all other Nuk owners would love it if this is trending to him going to the likes of KC or BUF. 🤞 apologies to Titans fans, but this ship isn't getting off the doc this year nor probably next neither.

Congrats to all who started Hopkins yesterday, especially those who had other decent options. I hate looking at my bench and seeing that 30 burger but on the bright side the outlook for Hopkins' 2023 season suddenly looks a heck of a lot different. now. Even if no contender steps in before Tuesday afternoon and makes a compelling offer for him, Hopkins has a lot of juice with Levis at QB.

I love Hopkins ROS schedule. Pretty much a decent or better matchup every week with two revenge games against Houston late in the season, including the championship weekend @houston. I plan to start him every week from here on out.

DeAndre Hopkins (toe) is questionable for Week 9 against the Steelers.

Hopkins was limited in two practices to open the week but was then downgraded to a DNP on Wednesday. Though it’s not a great sign for Hopkins’ availability, the veteran has played through the toe issue for a few weeks and is no stranger to toughing it out through injuries. We still expect him to play, though fantasy managers should check in on his status when the Titans release their inactives before kickoff. Assuming Hopkins is active, Will Levis’s favorite target will rank as a WR2 versus the Steelers.

The toe injury is new this week correct? If it is turf toe that isn't good news - can take a couple weeks to get better and can get worse if he plays.

Just when things were looking up. The DNP is not good but I really hope it is just veteran rest day. Also don't need him being a decoy out there if he plays...

There was news this morning that he already plans on playing tonight.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports DeAndre Hopkins (toe, questionable) is expected to play in Week 9 against the Steelers.
Fresh off a game in which he caught four passes for 128 yards and three touchdowns with Will Levis, Hopkins should be eager to suit up with his new rookie quarterback. It’s only a one-game sample, but Hopkins saw a season-high 24.0 aDOT in Week 8 against the Falcons and scored his first touchdowns of the season in the win. The Titans’ WR1 will be a top-24 fantasy option on Thursday night against the Steelers.

Anyone starting Hopkins tonight? Am I crazy to consider benching Higgins for him? (Evans, Hill, and McLaurin locked in the other spots)...
