WR Deebo Samuel, WAS (1 Viewer)

I mean Mullens has completed 9 passes for 100 yards through 40 minutes. Not sure it means much of anything except that this 49ers offense can be anemic at times.... they need a quarterback next season...Matt Ryan??

Deebo Samuel caught 6-of-9 targets for 73 yards in the 49ers' Week 13 loss to the Bills.

Samuel didn't catch his first pass until around halftime, but he did end up tying Brandon Aiyuk for the team lead in targets and paced the team in catches. Aiyuk, however, went 5-95-1 and found the end zone. Samuel is going to be hurt by the return of Aiyuk to the lineup, but his after-catch skills make him a weekly upside WR2 ahead of a Week 14 date with Washington.

As a guy needing just a couple points from him, that was a gut-wrenching first 3 quarters to watch, esp with Aiyuk blowing up.

Deebo Samuel (foot) did not practice Wednesday.

Coach Kyle Shanahan said it's unrelated to his broken foot suffered over the summer, but instead Samuel is dealing with a bruise after getting his foot stepped on. The Niners are on a short week after falling to the Bills Monday night. It sounds like Samuel should be okay for Week 14 against Washington.

Deebo Samuel (foot) returned to 49ers practice on Thursday, getting in a "limited" session.

It's a great sign as Samuel fights through a contusion. That is no laughing matter for a wide receiver's foot, but Samuel should ultimately be out there against the Football Team. YAC man Samuel is a solid WR3 for the first week of the fantasy playoffs.

Rotoworld:

Deebo Samuel (foot) will play in Week 14 against Washington.

Samuel, with 17 catches on 22 targets over the past two weeks, constitutes most of the Niners' passing offense along with Brandon Aiyuk. He should be a mid-to-low range WR2 against Washington this week.

DEEBO SAMUEL WR, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

49ers declared WR Trent Taylor, CB K‘Waun Williams, CB Emmanuel Moseley, RB Austin Walter, C Hroniss Grasu, and DT DJ Jones inactive for Week 14 against the Football Team.

Deebo Samuel, who hurt his foot last week against the Bills, will be active this week after getting in a full practice on Friday. While Brandon Aiyuk's presence in the Niners' lineup might limit Samuel's targets, the team will continue manufacturing touches for the explosive wideout.

Rotoworld:

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring) will be out "a while."

This syncs up with ESPN's Nick Wagoner's report that Samuel could miss the rest of the season. Samuel slammed his helmet on the bench in frustration after suffering his soft tissue injury during the first possession of Sunday's loss to Baltimore. Kendrick Bourne finished with the second-most targets (7) from Nick Mullens off the bench and is a viable deep league option in the interim. Brandon Aiyuk should be considered a borderline WR1 for the remainder of the season.

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) is out for Week 15 against the Cowboys.

Niners beat writers seem to expect Samuel to miss the remainder of 2020 with his latest hamstring injury. He left last week's game against Washington after hurting the hamstring on the first play from scrimmage. Brandon Aiyuk should continue to dominate targets for the 49ers while Samuel is sidelined. Kendrick Bourne should be considered a flex play in deeper leagues with Samuel out.

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) did not practice on Tuesday.

On December 14, coach Kyle Shanahan said Samuel would be out "a while" which could very well mean for the rest of the season. Samuel would need to get in at least a limited practice by the end of the week to have a chance of playing on Saturday. Brandon Aiyuk has entered the WR1 mix with Samuel sidelined.

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) is out for Week 16 against the Cardinals.

Samuel has not played since Week 13. With Samuel failing to practice this week and the 49ers eliminated from playoff contention, there would seem to be little chance Samuel returns for next week's finale.

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice.

Samuel hasn't played since Week 13 and is probably going to miss the finale against Seattle. With Brandon Aiyuk (ankle) also out, we could see a lot of Richie James and Kendrick Bourne with George Kittle dominating targets this week.

He will be undervalued in redraft next year, at least by a round or two. Aiyuk will presumably get the #1 coverage while Deebo will keep beasting on YAC plays.

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) remained sidelined on Thursday.

Samuel is all but certain to miss his third straight game to end the season. His "out" status should be formally announced on Friday.

Tremendous arbitrage play in relation to Aiyuk and ADP. IMHO, these 2 are going to be almost identical, statistically, if they both play a full slate. Not sure how much cheaper Deebo will be, but he will be cheaper.

What you said has nothing to do with arbitrage but yes if Samuel has a lower ADP than Aiyuk and you think they will produce similarly then of course go with the better price.

Any news on what happened during joint practice with the Chargers? Apparently banged up his gluteus (tightness), and was scheduled to have an MRI. Don't have any further details, but I'm sure someone here knows something.

Mri results aren't in yet as far as I can tell

Deebo Samuel caught 9-of-12 targets for 189 yards and one touchdown in the 49ers' Week 1 win over the Lions.

The nine grabs were Samuel's second-most in a game in his young career while the 189 yards marked a new best. The big play was a 79-yard touchdown on a heave from Jimmy Garoppolo that was placed perfectly, beating Jeffrey Okudah's coverage. The 12 targets represented a massive 46.2% target share on a day Garoppolo attempted just 25 passes. Brandon Aiyuk wasn't even targeted in this one, playing backup duties to Trent Sherfield. Samuel looks locked in as the Niners' No. 1 wideout ahead of a Week 2 date with the Eagles where he'll be a WR2/3.

Agreed. It’s better to have lost and live to fight another day than lose and never have the opp to fight again. Get down Deebo!

Tyshun "Deebo" Samuel caught 5-of-10 targets for 52 yards in Week 3 against the Packers.

Samuel had been the centerpiece of the 49ers’ offense the first two weeks, going over 90 yards in both games. He took a backseat to George Kittle this week, though he still led the team in targets. The 49ers' low-volume pass offense limits Samuel's upside, but his role should keep him locked in to 8-10 weekly targets as long as he stays healthy.

Tyshun "Deebo" Samuel caught 8-of-12 targets for 156 yards and two touchdowns in the 49ers' Week 4 loss to the Seahawks.

Samuel racked up 76 of his yards and a touchdown on a broken play where no defender was within 10 yards of him after he secured the catch. Even if you give him no credit for that easy score, he still topped 20 PPR points on the day. Samuel has emerged as the clear top pass-catcher in San Francisco, even surpassing George Kittle in the pecking order. He has led the 49ers in targets every week this year and now has at least 90 receiving yards in three of four games. His quarterback for Week 4 is up in the air as Jimm Garoppolo missed the second half with a calf injury but it looks like nothing will be stopping Samuel anytime soon. He'll continue to vie for WR1 numbers in a shootout with the Cardinals next week.

49ers snap count: Hard-working Samuel turns into team MVP

Excerpt:

The 49ers’ MVP through four games is Deebo Samuel.

End of conversation.

Samuel put himself into position to take a major leap forward in the offseason, and his overall condition showed Sunday in Santa Clara on a scorching day at Levi’s Stadium.

The 49ers fell to the Seattle Seahawks, 28-21, but Samuel provided a bright spot.

Samuel was on the field for 68 of the 49ers’ 76 offensive plays. Quarterbacks Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance targeted him with 12 passes. He caught eight for 156 yards and a career-best two touchdowns.

Through the first four games of the season, Samuel leads the NFL with 490 receiving yards — the second most in franchise history behind Jerry Rice (522 in 1995) at this stage of the season.

Samuel also played an important role as he offered Lance encouragement after a difficult start to open the third quarter. Lance was called upon due to Garoppolo's calf injury.

“I kind of know what it feels like to be thrown out there,” Samuel said. “That is kind of what happened to me when I was a rookie, but you just have to go out there.

“Like I told him, I said, ‘You have to go out there and get that first drive out of the way. Go out there and be yourself — you know that we have your back.’ And that is what happened, as you can see. He made a couple plays for us and gave us a chance to come back in the game.”

Samuel caught a 76-yard touchdown pass from Lance late in the third quarter. The pair hooked up again late in the fourth quarter to pull the 49ers within a touchdown.

Samuel said he could tell that Lance settled into his game after some initial nerves.

“After being out there the first drive he calmed down and as you can see he is pretty good and mobile on his feet,” Samuel said. “As the play breaks down he is able to be a little mobile and move the ball for us.”

I’m in 2 redraft leagues and Deebo was just traded in both. I guess everyone is viewing this as a sell high opportunity. Though he keeps producing weekly.

What a steal of a late round pick so far for teams that drafted him. (I drafted Aiyuk before him)  :scared:

"While Samuel is still getting plenty of opportunities to catch and run near the line of scrimmage, his air yards per target is up to 7.9 from 2.36 in 2020. He's been targeted 15 or more yards down field 10 times after he'd had 20 such targets in his first 22 NFL games."

That is pretty astounding. Not selling the one share I own, and it sounds like maybe inquiring in my other leagues is a good idea.

@VikingFrog Mind sharing the details of those trades for a price check? TY!
