I’m with you. Get on talent, not narratives
Speaking of narratives the one that gets me is “due to the way he’s used I'm going to treat him like a RB with respect his anticipated age decline”
I mean, show me a me a RB getting on average about 3 carries and 4 receptions a game and I'd probably tell you I'm going to treat that RB like a WR with respect to predicting his age decline.
Deebo's touches are close to the line of scrimmage, and his damage is from YAC
. I don't know what to tell you if you think Deebo's style isn't conducive to wear and tear
. Again, there's a reason he's never played a full schedule.
*Big fan of Deebo's talent. That isn't in question.
7 touches a game on average last two years, a little less in his career, and for sure not all close to the line of scrimmage. Can't believe anyone would really think that kind of workload is a concern for longevity.
"Samuel is one of the biggest injury risks at WR.
- He’s never played a full season, missing a total of 17 games across five years.
- Our Injury Predictor gives him an 86.6% chance of injury and 3.4 projected games missed this season. Those are the third-highest and highest marks among WRs."

"All models are wrong, some are useful, some deadly." I could be overthinking this. But I'm hedging my bets as someone who's been heavy on Deebo since he came into the league. I'll still have some of him, but I am one foot off the train. Good luck!
Ok, you are going in a different direction then I was thinking as I was focusing on his performance and not injury risk.
But I'll go there and just say I don't think his usage has even the tiniest bit to do with his injury history. It's always been an issue for him, back when he was a very young man in college. High majority of his injuries have been soft muscle pulls, mainly hamstring. Just don't think it's had anything to do with hits, wear or tear.
