I mentioned he wasn't getting nearly enough attention/discussion in the Titans WR thread. Said that several months ago upon def ears.

So is he a "emerge in the 2nd half" kind of guy or it takes an injury kind of guy?
The Coachspeak Index
#Titans HC Brian Callahan on Elic Ayomanor:
“He’s gotten better every time he’s stepped out there. He’s a strong runner, he’s a powerful route-runner, he’s made plays on the ball, and that’s what we’re looking for. He’s earned himself the right to be called a starter.”
TURRON DAVENPORT
Cam Ward said Elic Ayomanor is going to end of being one of the best route runners as he advances in his career.
Appreciate you Faust. Just want to say again, Ward is beyond ridiculous with praise for his WRs. I have no doubt he'd say yes if you asked him if Prosche is the best WR in the NFL. It's like he was trained to in a public speaking class. His top ten WRs in the NFL included like 6 Titans WRs.TURRON DAVENPORT

I've gotten a bunch of flack for this. He's a big lean guy that plays even bigger. He's got some Plaxico to him. That would be my comparison. He makes long arm catches and ya think he's taller than he is.
Anyway, if y'all need someone for comparison I think Plaxico

Elic Ayomanor Week 1:
Pass snaps - 30/36 = 83%
Target Share - 7/25 = 28%
Target Per Route - 7/28 = 25%
This seems high to me.The33rdTeamFB

You can take this as hope for FF or a negative and they better sub someone in. It kinda works both ways
Elic Ayomanor caught 4-of-6 targets for 56 yards and a touchdown in the Titans’ Week 2 loss to the Rams.
Ayomanor saw seven targets in Week 1 but failed to do much with a healthy diet of downfield targets, reeling in just two passes for 13 yards. He and Cam Ward looked to be on the same page this time around, especially on an improbable touchdown in the third quarter. Ward evaded pressure and heaved a pass across his body for a nine-yard red zone score. Ayomanor also made an incredible catch just before the touchdown, pinning the ball to his body with one hand while fighting off an LA defender for a 23-yard gain. Ayomanor is already shaping up to be a late-round hit for fantasy managers, even if his deep-shot role will create an absurdly inconsistent scoring profile. He will work his way into the WR4 ranks for his Week 4 matchup with the Colts.

Elic Ayomanor on six targets in Week 2:
4 catches
56 yards
1 TD
1 DPI drawn (14 yards)

Ayomanor has one fewer target than Calvin Ridley through two games (14 vs. 13) — and is building chemistry with Cam quickly![]()
He went unclaimed in my leagueAnyone get him off waivers?
Got him last week for free after waivers ran. Still not sure he would have gone this week but probably some bid.Anyone get him off waivers?
Many of the good rookie WRs tend to improve over the course of the year. Maybe he's one of them - we'll see.13 yards receiving in game 1. A broken play TD in game 2.
I don't see great potential this year.
I’m looking at the usage/utilization. Not at the results so far. Looks good to me at least. Hopefully the results catch up.13 yards receiving in game 1. A broken play TD in game 2.

I see the potential this year but agree he is more of a stash type in most leagues.13 yards receiving in game 1. A broken play TD in game 2.

Seven and Six targets in the first two games are great for a fourth-round rookie WR, and I'm encouraged by the time he and Cam are spending together. There's no promise he'll pan out long term, but the indications are stronger than the average 3rd round rookie pick at this point in the season.
He's a learning podcaster that talks like a know it all.Excellent breakdown of his abilities. He also includes where Elic can improve.
Bottom line is when you see these routes in slo mo, Elic is winning them.
His feet stutter is scary fast in stride. And he has another gear afterwards.
How in the world did he fall in the draft?

He got called out by Kurt Warner and Ryan Fitzpatrick and...a whole slew of names last year for being totally grossly wrong on some film breakdowns and Kurt even did a YT show explaining how wrong.
This year, he actually got BHop to do a show with him. Kudos to him.
He's kinda loud and dominating so BHop and the other guy appear minimized most of the show. He's gotta learn to shush and I say that with an idk much about hosting a show mindset. Hopkins is as good as any with discussing the OL and is a huge deal he's doing a show with Tyler.
It's unbelievable really that he is but Tyler is exceptional at promoting and flaming and stirring the pot. He needs time though. He's figuring everything out and learning. Recently someone pointed out "they're not running your high school offense dude."
He cherry picks plays for videos and gets called out.
He calls himself the most popular Titans podcast but some of them did so well they're now radio shows and being called out by former players and coaches gets you views so. ????
He's gotta learn to disagree peacefully.
I wouldn't doubt the kid does well soon. If it was fifteen years ago here, he'd be lit up for some that he does, but he's on a good path and he is tireless.
I wonder if Hopkins is giving him advice outside of the show.
Anywho, I could imagine he's a considerable (if not big) deal soon enough but make sure you use your FF experience when watching right now.

Sorry for the preamble but this place means a lot to me and a lot of us old timers are touchy about questionable sources.
I didn't watch this.
Yesterday it was discussed how "one guy on YouTube said look at the footwork" and a few of those are not good. He has nervous feet unsure feet. The chat lit up that it was Tyler but host never confirmed. It sure seems so.
I love Derrick Mason talking of Titans WRs and Chris Sanders is pretty good and Marc Mariani on occasion. There's a plethora of former pro WRs.
They lead me to Dike is not ready. Where is Oliver and Van? And Elic still has growing to do.
IIRC another from the game was Elic pushing off too late 2-3 times and he better be careful because that's a penalty if they see it.
Cosell has some blocking concerns and blame for Elic. He has to do better so they don't consider pulling him to get a block. The rest very positive. Oliver did glean a handful of blocking snaps from him in week two.
All of them talk of spacing and route discipline still. He's doing eons better than the preseason but there's still a number of plays where he gets tied up and runs right into traffic. Being on an island, usually on the right, avoids this but he will best flourish when he can vibe with a teammate and feed off each other.
Another point to Van and Oliver being so comfy with Ward is they were comfy with Elic too. Oliver hurt himself on a great ST dive tackle that looked odd so ya kinda knew he hurt himself mid flight. He may sit this week. Van is supposed to play more but it should be at Lockett and Dike's expense NOT Elic's and we all seem to know it'll be Elic because the Titans gotta Titan and why sub out the guys that have awful two game stats. Or Ridley. Pull him after his drops. Zero backing here by coachspeak but just us Titans followers knowing they will sub for the wrong guy. I hope we're wrong. Do you know how long it's been since we had a good looking offense? So the hope is we get to see Van and Elic vibe. They really had some nice pick plays and "you turn deep I turn short" routines that were nice too. I think this is how Elic can get to 90-100 yards and have us excited.
As I relayed, the Titans lacked any presence over the middle in week one. Chig was playing H-back role and he didn't get open. Gunnar was fine early but his passes were near the sideline and then why did he barely play after that? He did good. Why? Last week was much of the same. But DMase wasright that Elic could get open on some crossers and provide that.
So there's this void. Cam has like 3-4 passes over the middle in two games and that must increase and be far more. Do they play Gunnar more? Use Elic more on crossers? Hold the slots accountable? Opportunity is right there and every NFL guy insists teams must attack the middle of the field some and can't ignore it. If this is Elic, that's another spot for an uptick in production.
I like Tyler's shows. I watch them sometimes. Grain of salt please. Former NFL WRs will give ya a better vibe on Elic than anyone else imo.
There is a big positive air of Elic right now but it didn't click for him til mid camp so maybe a month ago. There's a lot of cramming studying going on as they work him through whatever. He's a great learner with great attitude
See? I don't like it when rookies talk of comfort issues and it's obvious.
Play the guys that did well in camp and stop doing contrary "I know best" junk.
He's always confident but the biggest part is comfortability. He's a rookie and has only played two games ...

What are your thoughts on Ward? When will we see that breakout game that elevates the entire offense?
