WR Emeka Egbuka, TB (2 Viewers)

When he played in the bowl game I expected him back.

Personally a little disappointed just because of were most of my picks line up, know it's a deep WR class, but hate seeing viable options thinned out. I had him in a tier with Thomas and Coleman in non-SF as essentially players 5-7 as of right now.

Bummer for those who already have him in their DEVY leagues. I'm sure they expected him to be playing in the NFL in 2024. Or at least they did this time last year.

Quiet week 1 in 52-6 blowout of Akron. Emeka had 4 catches for 51 yards. This play in particular was not ruled a catch.

Egbuka is currently my WR1 of 2025 WR class.

Higher than McMillan and Burden? 👀

Analytically his career YPRR was much higher than both.

That said, this season will have a huge impact on everyone’s profile.

Don’t sleep on Emeka Egbuka as one of the top WRs in the 2025 NFL Draft.

I feel like he’s been on the NFL radar so long that people forget just how good he is. The YAC, size, refinement as a route runner and speed are all there.

Many had Emeka Egbuka as the WR1 of the 2024 class. Injuries hurt him in 2023 but a healthy Egbuka is one of the best receivers in the country.

Career #’s

⭐️ 9.7 ADOT
⭐️ 2.71 Y/RR
⭐️ 7.2 YAC/REC
⭐️ 98 1st Downs
⭐️ 15.1 Y/REC

Have always been excited by Emeka Egbuka’s dual-sided route running and RAC skill set. That long-strider range is what won on this long touchdown.

Glad he’s healthy and making plays again. Stellar player.

Emeka Egbuka is going to be a nasty power slot at the next level. A guy that can lineup outside, but could just absolutely dominate in the slot.

Think early Steelers Juju Smith-Schuster before the injuries. Rashee Rice with more juice. Really good player. #NFLDraft

Against top-5 ranked opponents this season, in three games totaled:

20 rec, 225 yards, 3 TDs

He is top-3 in 2025 WR class in career YPRR. Top-3 of this WR class overall imo.

Emeka Egbuka (WR #OhioState) reminds me a little bit of Amon Ra St. Brown.

Really reliable pass-catcher who has great spatial awareness and thrives in tight quarters.

Not going to be the most physically imposing or a true burner, but a sure-handed guy you can trust.

In a weak 2025 Draft class full of uncertainty, Emeka Egbuka is a ticket for GMs to keep their job.

He’s going to be quite high on my big board. And think about all the fun landing spots…

Emeka Egbuka: Route % x Explosiveness Play %
This seems like it's supposed to be a bad thing? Or is it good? Most of the routes have very low explosive %. But I have no clue what an average receiver's chart looks like because I've never seen this one before.

Same guy posted both comments in fausts post so I’m guessing it’s a really good thing

With Houston’s offensive struggles/injuries, it’s a popular pick to see them go OL.

I keep seeing Egbuka mocked to them and I’d agree. Texans do need OL, but with Diggs a big question mark and Dell now out an extended period, something tells me if Tyler Warren or Egbuka fall to them, they’re taking the one they like better. Signs point to Egbuka for now.

Steelers Depot
For The Athletic’s Dane Brugler, there’s one name that’s a clear fit for the Steelers at No. 21. In his latest two-round mock draft, he pairs the Steelers with standout Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka at No. 21 #Steelers #NFL

Emeka Egbuka is at the top of the “just draft good football players” list.

Showed vs. Notre Dame why the Robert Woods comp. is perfect for him. His best role is as a complementary WR2. A-level route runner, great hands, can play outside or in the slot and blocks his tail off in the box and on the perimeter.

Was terrific last night in multiple ways.

Emeka Egbuka might have the most catches in Ohio State history...but he's also the best downfield blocking wide receiver in college football and a selfless slant route god. He's one of my favorite "football players" in the draft class.

Could he be compared to Nacua?

I don't think he plays as physical as Nacua.

13.2 yards per play is a red flag for me. Look at all the past osu successful wrs. They all had over 16 yrds+. You better hope he is an outlier and is Michael Thomas but he really was in the perfect offense.

Seems like a potential solid WR2 in the NFL and should not be drafted in round 1.

Early in the process but he's my WR3 overall in this class right now. Sure, it's partly because I think he has the highest floor. But his skill set is fully capable of being utilized as a WR1 type IMO by the right coaching staff/offensive scheme. On film he reminds of Hines Ward but a better route runner/much more technique. I think the skillset matches with and presents a potential ceiling of ARSB. He can certainly win with aggressiveness and toughness, but also has the skills to finesse his way open and the smarts to find holes in zone knowing when to push routes or settle in soft spots. Very high football IQ. Obviously, like Ward, a great physical downfield blocker. Even seen him quite a few times used as a lead blocker for Judkins coming out of the backfield. Profiles as a slot, but did well against press and man, getting himself open off the line as well as an X could. Doesn't have the long speed of an X, but very quick in short areas with good burst and separation.

Feels to me he does so many things above average people are getting lost saying "he doesn't have one dominanant trait". I think those people are missing the forest for the trees. This guy never has to come off the field and will be a boon to his offense on every single play, whether it's to him or away, whether it's a pass or a run. He didn't come out of nowhere. Was a 5 star recruit playing against the toughest competition at the college level and produced despite playing with other NFL quality players JSN, MHJ and soon to be Jeremiah Smith. And he did it consistently in his time there, setting the record for most career receptions for OSU. Sure he stayed a 4th year to win a championship and it looks like a decision that paid off for him. But he still broke out his sophmore year and could have easily come out last year and still had high draft capital. IMO one more less said positive is he has experience running a more detailed and technical offense under Chip Kelly than a lot of kids coming from other programs.

This is grain of salt since I've only just started, but after McMillan and Burden, I don't think one receiver left has a higher floor than Egbuka. And even those two have their own warts/question marks to the point where I wouldn't say I'd take Egbuka at 1.02 over them (yet); but I'd be very inclined to trade back a few picks to gain more capital and take who I think is the classes one "sure thing" at WR. I wouldn't be at all surprised if in another couple months once people start really putting everything together he's considered part of a "big 3" with those other two WRs and winds up as some analysts WR1 overall.

Emeka Egbuka will be a 1st round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft

➖Age: 22
➖Size: 6’1, 205 lbs

ONLY Two Wide Receivers in Ohio State HISTORY have recorded MULTIPLE 1,000+ Yard Receiving Seasons:

➖Marvin Harrison Jr.
➖Emeka Egbuka

Reminder that Egbuka CLEARED the 3.00+ Yards Per Route Run mark as a FRESHMAN and SOPHOMORE..

He’s an EXTREMELY polished route runner, an underrated separator, and a phenomenal run blocker.

Notable Information:

➖Multiple seasons with 10+ TD’s
➖ALL TIME OSU Receptions Leader (205)
➖ALL TIME OSU Rec Yards Leader (2,868)

Emeka Egbuka feels like one of the safest picks in the entire 2025 Class and he’ll become an NFL team’s TRUE WR1.
