WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, SEA (1 Viewer)

His QB is a good passer. But like other good QBs with a bad oline, it's hard to make completions when you're running for your life - thinking of Caleb and CJ in many games this year.

He doesn't look explosive at the NFL level and had lots of drops last year. He'll need volume in order to have a good game. The Rams are 13th OVP, so this may not be the game.
For me, I think the biggest thing I've noticed is that they simply don't game plan him into the offense. Its almost like he is simply the safety valve guy. Wish they would look to make him part of how they want to move the ball. Maybe they see something we don't and know he just isn't that guy. Big week for him and his value.

Really good to see this kind of game from him. Freaking finally!!

He was wide open all day and Geno was looking for him. Let’s hope it keeps up.

He was on my bench as Drake and Olave were missing 6 quarters of football combined.

Great to see Seattle shift him into a more of a deep role in comparison to last week. Rams couldn't cover him at all.

JSN in Week 9, per @NextGenStats:
- 3 of 5 on 20+ air yard targets
- 99 yards

JSN Weeks 1-8:
- 0 for 5 on 20+ air yard targets
- 0 games with multiple deep receptions

I've charted JSN as a prospect and his rookie year for #ReceptionPerception and I've never understood why he's been so limited to popgun and short targets in the pros. He's always been such a strong separator in the intermediate area and can win deep on big over routes.

Fluke against a weaker secondary or sign of things to come? I guess we'll find out.

Of course I dropped him in one redraft league for Cedric Tillman. Wasn’t starting him anyway but still. Now we can see how high the bidding goes on the WW. Yay! 🥵

While I agree that DK is the alpha, the Seahawks clearly learned something yesterday about JSN that had seemingly eluded them beforehand this season.

He is a good downfield receiver and should be targeted in those areas.

DK on the field helps him in a lot of ways, whilst also probably capping this monstrous potential upside.

On my bench of course for T. Tracy.

Still not sure I'm a believer.

Will not be surprised if DK is back after the bye and so is JSN's 5-50 ish production.

I hope I'm wrong and that something has truly changed here and yesterday was a key inflection point in his usage/career.

Funny that it took a professional coaching staff this long to figure out what others have been saying.

JSN is special. Has been special and will continue to be special. If the Seahawks can not or will not recognize that, he will be gone at the end of his rookie deal and smash it somewhere else. Or maybe they trade him.

He appears to have officially arrived. He is getting targets. Getting stats. And looks to the eye like a playmaker. No. 10 WR in total points YTD in my PPR league as of this week.

Just wish Seattle offense wasn't so terrible in the red zone. Not sure if it's Geno or the play-calling. But since it's spanned multiple OC's, kinda think it's a Geno problem.

I thought when he was at OSU, he was nearly as good or at maybe = to Marvin. His absense hurt us bad that year vs Georgia, it might have been a better outcome with him playing.

Olave and Wilson like him

Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave BOTH said Jaxon Smith-Njigba is BETTER than BOTH of them. The two best rookie WRs in the league this year… Ignore them if you want. I’d listen.

Ohio State would beat Georgia if Marvin were not removed from the game. They had no answer for Marvin.

All of them are pretty close. I would go with JSN, Olave, Wilson, and Harrison in that order. I'm talking about their time at OSU.

JSN is still, in my opinion, the best as long as they all stay healthy.

That pisses me off thinking about it. GRRRRR cheap shot to our best WR's head.

@SleeperNFL
The JSN breakout is here people. Get in while you can!

Jaxon Smith-Njigba in his last 3 games:

🔵 23 Receptions
🟢 367 Receiving Yards
🔵 3 Touchdowns

Seattle’s WR1 ⭐
I still think its premature to say JSN>DK. Its been 2 games, where DK was coming off a knee injury. Maybe its starting to become a 1A/1B thing, but I can't help but feel DK is being underrated right now.

Yeah, kind of feels that JSN is being a bit over-hyped at the moment. Let's tone down the drama, IMO.

DK had some clunkers before the injury and he's coming into this match still banged up. I think JSN continues to produce while DK gets the alpha type coverage.

Metcalf is the alpha. Metcalf will draw the most and best coverage. That definitely helps JSN tremendously. I'm just thrilled he has finally moved past Lockett on weekly game plan. They used him like a possession wr to start year. Something clicked on the coaching staff where they realized he might be a bit more. All my opinion of course.

Yes. Yes he is.

This is the WR thread that should be 54 pages long.

• 15 games
• 126 targets
• 93 catches
• 1,089 receiving yards
• 6 TDs

WR7 in our ppr format.

Drafted 8.01, 85th pick of the draft.

18th overall amongst WR-RB-TE.

That is what a league winner looks like.
I assume you’re referring to the Jamo thread.

Jamo has been a more polarizing topic, and that always generates more comments.

Plus, Jonmx is in there, getting trolled, and god knows he’s never had the common sense to ignore a troll.

I’ve had both rostered since they started, and I’ve barely looked at this thread b/c, as stated above, he is who we thought his was.

I’m kind of hoping he has some average/bad games to end the year so I can get him cheaper next year.

what are you looking give? as a JSN owner I'm giving him away but I will listen to offers. He turns 23 and just seems to be coming into his own.
