Ironically a Christian Kirk or Doug Baldwin type of career would be a good trajectory. Power slot and shifty.Love him. Didn't watch any preseason but weirded by his usage...
Think his upside is Tank x1.5
Sergio Pandalo
Jaylin Noel has looked good in preseason and camp. What are the realistic odds he makes a year one impact? I know you mentioned you like him more than Higgins and would be interested to learn more about why.

Jaylin Noel: Can't really figure out how he gets on the field a ton right now with Kirk in the mix and Higgins ticketed for outside work but I am very confident he's a good player who would shine if given opportunities in this offense with that QB.
Would love to see a solid game for Noel to build off his game vs Ravens.
Why? I know nothing about him.If both Nico and Kirk are out dude obviously should be in all lineups.
He's on my watchlist in bye week hell along with the likes of A. Pierce, J. Reynolds, and T. Franklin. If both Nico and Kirk are out dude obviously should be in all lineups.
Had his best game this past week. 7 targets 4 reception 77 yards. That was with Nico and his 10 targets. If Nico and Kirk are both out this guy will walk into 10 targets. At home against an average Niners defense. Schultz had been mediocre at best until last week. Tough call, but is roll with the rookie over him if Nico and Kirk are out. All my opinion and reserve the right to block you if he has 2 receptions for 13 yards. Ha haWhy? I know nothing about him.
Also would you rather flex him or Schultz in the above scenario?

Here’s my Jaylin Noel dilemma. If both Nico and Kirk are out dude obviously should be in all lineups.
Tez 100%Here’s my Jaylin Noel dilemma. If both Nico and Kirk are out dude obviously should be in all lineups.
I plucked him off the waiver wire last night for the exact reason you stated — no Nico and no Kirk likely makes Noel a target focus.
However, when waivers ran I noticed someone dropped Tez Johnson. With Evans and Godwin out, Tez Johnson likely remains productive. He’s had a TD the past two games. So I put in a waiver claim for Tez.
Who would you prefer for Week 8 (Noel vs. SF or Tez @ NO)? And who would you prefer for the rest of season?
In the end, this isn't an exact science and football is always gonna football. This is my logic. Tez will immediately have less targets then Emeka while Noel should immediately lead that wr room in targets. Game script. With Mayfield not 100% and playing the 1-6 Saints I can see a scenario where the Bucs are confident they can win this game with Baker throwing it 25 times. Texans and Niners is the weeks closest Vegas spread. Texans ain't the best rushing team, they gonna have to throw. If Kirk and Nico out give me Noel over Tez. For sure. If you decide who you should start based on which offense is better then you start Tez. It's a great argument. I'm posting my thoughts on it. I'm just some guy trying to read the tea leaves like everyone else. I also dont want to be this pro Noel guy. I'm not. I just think that if the top two wrs on the team are out and they are playing the Niners at home it sure has the ingredients to taste good. I’m not sure about this part. Hutchinson could as easily be the target leader. It’s really difficult to predict because we don’t yet know where top coverage is going to roll.while Noel should immediately lead that wr room in targets
Hutch has averaged 3 targets a game this year. His previous two full season waaaay less. Once again, I'm reading tea leaves and guessing, but I just don't see a big bump for him. Que the Hutch 12 target game right? Ha ha. Football will always football.I’m not sure about this part. Hutchinson could as easily be the target leader. They’re all “what the heck” flexes during a BYE week though. Psyched to have Schultz in a TEP. Bummed to have Nico in a league where I can’t ever seem to field a complete originally intended starting lineup.I’m not sure about this part. Hutchinson could as easily be the target leader. Yeah, it's a bit murky. Schultz will be his favorite target and I can see Hutchinson filling the Nico role. Should be more opportunities for Noel though.

Only thing that has me worried but I'm expecting to lose this week with my guys on bye. So giving it a shot. They’re all “what the heck” flexes during a BYE week though. Similar to what the heck, WTF is how this team is coached. It seems no matter how obvious it is, the staff will favor veterans. The Chubb over Woody thing is puzzling but with Kirk hurt they bring in Berrios out of the woodwork. It really makes no sense when you spent high draft capital on two rookies who look more than capable.
That would be a big mistake. He couldn't separate in 2023 in Miami. The key to this week for Noel is if Demeco/Texans will quit stubbornly trying to make something out of Braxton Berrios.
I know, but I think up until late in the game it was Berrios who was getting most of Kirks' role. That would be a big mistake. He couldn't separate in 2023 in Miami. The key to this week for Noel is if Demeco/Texans will quit stubbornly trying to make something out of Braxton Berrios.
Picked him up all over last night and was a little surprised at the lack of FABB aggressiveness considering the bye weeks coming up and the barren landscape for FA WR's.
Nico being out helps the overall target share but that's more of an assist to Higgins IMO.
The key to this week for Noel is if Demeco/Texans will quit stubbornly trying to make something out of Braxton Berrios.
The key to this ROS for Noel is if Demeco/Texans will actually play the guy that Demeco just called their most explosive player or continue their stubborn insistence or whatever they are thinking with their reluctance to go with the rookies and continuing to trotting out guys like Hutchinson and Kirk as primary starters.
If they will actually let the best player win the slot job then that's Noel's job and if he has that job he's going to be a legit weekly starter for ROS and the #2 fantasy option in this passing game.
great comp and very well said meno. adding to this, unfortunately those mistakes lose games in the NFL and couple that with the fact that guys like Z and Berrios keep landing these kinds of roles despite what we see on Sundays say they certainly know the ins and outs of the position in practice. Burden and Noel are superior talents, but probably not yet ready for prime time in the coaches' eyes. this take makes a lot of sense.
Ben Johnson is doing something similar with Zaccheus(sp?) over Burden so it makes me hesitant tag this decision making as stupid but I do think even brilliant coaches get a little to enamored of vets who "do it the right way, do it like it's coached" instead of living with a few mistakes from younger, better, more dynamic players.
