WR Josh Gordon, KC (3 Viewers)

I have these 8 WRs in a dynasty. Hard to know who to start week to week:

Colston

Decker

Gordon

Harvin

DJax

Andre Johnson

Megatron

Denarius Moore

A good problem to have unless you pick the wrong guys.
Gordon and DJax this week. Uggh.

At least I started Calvin.

Why not have weeden, and henne for that matter, run plays that gets the ball out of their hands quickly? 3 steps and throw the thing. They take 7 step drops and then run through about 3-4 reads seemingly every play. throw the farking ball!

You don't even need tape... you can tell Weeden is awful just by looking at him.

Makes Andy Dalton look sophisticated in contrast. As if dumbassery had a facial expression. Even Trent knows it. For as much hate as Matt Schaub got... the burning jerseys, weirdos messing around at his home... Schaub would be SUCH an upgrade for Gordon and Weeden owners.

I had a feeling that Gordon would struggle today. Green Bay did a really good job shutting down Torrey Smith last week and it looks like they applied a similar approach to stopping Gordon today.

I wouldn't worry about him as the season progresses, even with Weeden.

The last one had me :lmao:

Surprised we haven't heard more rumors/speculation about a Gordon trade to Indy with Wayne lost to a torn ACL and Grigson being so willing to deal

The Browns should throw a ton of RB screens to Ogy and now Fozzy I guess.

It would help.

Yeah but Indy already moved their 1st. Can't see them wanting to move more picks..
Well, as evidenced by the fact they moved a 1st for Richardson and just beat a SB favorite, they would seem to be in win-now mode and I certaintly wouldn't be surprised if they made some moves. I think their odds of winning it all without Reggie or a suitable replacement would be very slim, and they know that.

Updating an earlier item, the Browns have yet to decide on their Week 8 quarterback.
The word comes straight from the team. CBS' Jason La Canfora reported earlier Monday that they were sticking with Brandon Weeden. It's quite possible that will remain the case, but the Browns are wisely opting against immediately announcing Weeden will get another chance. Weeden was Tyler Palko-level bad against a Packers defense riddled with backups on Sunday. However, backup Jason Campbell was similarly inept for the Bears in 2012. We'd guess Weeden ultimately gets one more start.

Gordon had back-to-back GL targets from inside the 10, in the 4th quarter. 1 was uncalled pass interference, and the other just a crappy pass.

If Weeden starts and plays like this again he might not make it to the end of the game.

At least Campbell as an older vet might know how to zone in on his bread`n`butter receiver.

Gordon had a lot of opportunity. IMO, the wet conditions were messing with his head.

There were several balls he should have caught that he let get away yesterday. Then, once he missed a few (not gonna say dropped, they'd have been tough catches), he started not finishing routes when he was covered (but Weeden would still throw it anyway sometimes).

After one of these broken off routes (in the endzone, I think), they started calling plays for Cameron. Not sure if this game will have any sort of long term impact on his targets or not.

Gordon is as much to blame as his #### QB right now imho, he's been dogging it ever since Hoyer went out. He's not the only one on the team, but as a wide receiver it kind of sticks out.

Noticed this too. Also has a couple of real ridiculous drops every week. The opportunity was there yesterday so I'm not putting it on Weeden.

I see Gordon more of a ty Hilton type player than a filler for reggie
If Luck was throwing to him he'd be a bar-none Pro Bowl caliber WR. He'd put up better numbers than if Hoyer were still healthy and throwing him the ball.
I 100% agree and would hope they do make the trade. Doubt cle will but thatd he most excellent for me. I was just saying i think the colts would be more interested in a slot receiver type receiver

Yeah, I have other options so I think I'm gonna sit him out...Weeden really has looked terrible lately and now they travel to KC. I don't like what's going on right now, and I can see Campbell making an appearance in that game...don't have any confidence in him either

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter

At least 3 teams have contacted Browns about deal for WR Josh Gordon; two have standing offers of a high pick and a player. Browns balking.

Can any situation be better than Cleveland? Or could he be traded somewhere where his value will actually go down?

Unless Josh Gordon doesn't intend to run routes further than 5 or 6 yards down the field then the last guy you want throwing to him is Jason Campbell.

That guy is the Capt. Checkdown of all Capt. Checkdowns. Need 6? He'll get you 5. Need 11? He'll get you 5. Need 15+? He'll get you 5.

Very curious about what teams are making offers and if the Browns eventually accept an offer.

Josh Gordon to the Colts would constitute a massive boon to his value (eventual successor to Reggie Wayne, perhaps?). I'd love to see this deal get done. A trade to SF, Carolina, or especially KC would be detrimental to his value, IMO.

will he start playing harder somewhere else?
You have any linkage for the slacking issues you've mentioned?
I don't, but I will second what MAC said. His body language looked terrible the entire game. You never know if someone has personal issues going on, or maybe they just aren't feeling well, but it looked like he would have rather been anyplace else.

Been saying for weeks now that Weeden is a bum and that there was risk of Gordon losing focus playing for him. WRs do not like catching erratic passes from QBs they don't have faith in.

if you've got game rewind you can probably collect enough data over your lunch break. He's not the only brown dogging it since weeden came back but he is the most frequent offender.

I didn't see a snap of the game and I didn't see anything on twitter about it either from the Browns writers.

This isn't the first time I heard about him (Gordon) losing interest on this board but I haven't seen it a where else.

calls for the sideline before a key third down, short arms the desperation fourth down, not focusing falling down over and over again, jogs off the line on runs and screens not to him, quits on the play when weeden is forced to scramble.Ability only matters if you care.

I trust you. I didn't see a snap of the game yesterday and really have nothing to go off of.

Dustin Fox has been on it. Grossi loosely eluded to it in his game wrap this week. I think more will cone, especially if he gets traded.
