WR Josh Gordon, KC (2 Viewers)

My dynasty WR bench is Gordon, Dede, and Goodwin. Gordon was third on that list this week. Is someone is going to step off the bench and start, why should it be Gordon?
I am as big of a Gordon wonk you will find here (with one obvious exception) and I think he is clearly the most talented of that group.

However it is difficult to ignore the #1 WR in a Kyle Shanahan offense. That comes with the caveat of when he has a competent QB, which it seems he now does, and if you are in a PPR league.

Shanahan offenses do not favor his #1 WR near the end zone. He loves to pound the ball near the goal line or get cute with play-action to the FB, #3 TE, tackle eligible etc.

In a standard league it's closer but it looks like Goodwin will continue to get a similar amount of targets as Gordon and Garoppolo is worlds more accurate than Kizer and that makes the difference. Plus Jimmy G. is average 8.9 you (can that be right?) another trend when Shanahan has his offense rolling.

With, perhaps any other QB I would be Gordon all the way but Kizer is such a big risk.

Gordon could flip it with one play but Goodwin is no slouch on the athleticism Dept either.

Yeah I probably go with Goodwin.

It’s just scary benching gordon for Goodwin. He could so easily win you the week

Bortles is playing better over the last three games (66%, 7.7ypa, 4-1 TD: INT). Westbrook is getting a good amount of targets too. And Jax has a better matchup to win their game but that's the run they are more likely to be salting away a win in the 4th with Fournette and Ivory.

No I go Gordon comfortably over Westbrook. To much man to ignore.

Goodwin is averaging 19ypc on the season, 15.7 ypc with Garoppolo.

Gordon is at 22ypc but Goodwin is clearly no slouch and he's averaging 2.5 more catches per game than Gordon with Garoppolo.

That’s all good and well but gordon is the type of player than can go off for 30+ and win you a week. And it’s scary leaving those guys on your bench

Yeah he can but he's going to need to do it on 2-3 catches.

Goodwin can take it 80+ too and has a QB who can get it to him. Like I said absent Kizer I go Gordon (would still consider it with Kizer) but Goodwin is the smart play.

I think Evans is on my bench RoS. It's a great matchup as we all think TB will be playing catch-up from the jump but TB looks like they are just cashing checks at this point.
I started with Evans all year until last week. Used Burkhead over him. Missed getting in the playoffs by 3.35 points. Had I benched Evans just one week sooner I'd have been in. He's the bust of the year IMO. At least I only had him in one league and at draft time I was bummed I didn't have more "shares" of him...

But if I had to decide between him and Gordon it's a no-brainier--Gordon.

But will he outscore Alshon Jeffrey, Dede Westbrook, or Marquis Goodwin this week?
In my league Gordon scored the same as Alshon, outscored Goodwin by one and Westbrook outscored Gordon by three.

Not bad for a guy three years out of the league with Deshone Kizer throwing him the ball.

I already made arguments for Goodwin over Gordon and why I lean towards Gordon over Westbrook this week.  Alshon has a great match up on paper and Foles, while worlds worse than Wentz is also worlds better than Kizer. I expect Alshon's YPC to drop from 14.1 with Foles and his catch rate (49%) to see a down tick as well.  I also anticipate Philadelphia running on a higher % of plays than they would with Wentz so likely 1-2 fewer targets for Alshon than normal.  Throw in a, likely, negative game script for the passing game and I probably start Gordon over Alshon as well.

Kizer may be a horribly inaccurate passer and not the best decision maker but he will put the ball up there and give Gordon and opportunity to go get it.

Receiving love from Michael Fabiano this week in his Start 'Em, Sit ' Em Week 15 Column

Start of the Week - Josh Gordon vs. Baltimore Ravens

Gordon has come back from a multi-season absence and dominated defensive backs like he never left. He will continue to flash against the Ravens, who are without their top cornerback Jimmy Smith. With an 83 percent snap percentage and 17 targets in the last two weeks, Gordon should continue to see more than his share of opportunities.

The NFL Week 15 Worksheet

Excerpt:

Josh Gordon (he’s flashed the upside that made him such a coveted fantasy option in each of his first two games and will not have to contend with Jimmy Smith in the Baltimore secondary, but his ceiling is still attached to inefficient quarterback play as only seven of his 17 targets have been deemed catchable per Pro Football Focus)

Ahhh, redemption. Feels amazing to have this cat firmly back in the picture for the playoffs.

I am not starting him this week over these guys across my FFPC leagues: Julio, DT, Ingram, Drake, Freeman, Tyreek, MThomas, Howard, Cooks, Ertz, Kelce, Gronk.

Cooks is close but I like his chance to bounce back after two stinkers. Howard is another close call, but I like the matchup in DET for him to have a safer 14 pt floor, and hopefully they ride him as they did last week.

But damn it feels good to have another guy who can drop 25 any given Sunday.

The people waiting to start him until this week are going to be pissed imo.

eta - I'm a Gordon fan.

Yeah, post Jimmy Smith, that Raven secondary looks pretty stout so far.
Admittedly have not watched a single Baltimore game this year, so apologies, but is this sarcasm or reality?  I am planning on starting him and most likely will no matter what as my other options are hot garbage, but wanted to get an idea of what to actually expect.

From Charles McDonald at Football Outsiders, Film Room: Josh Gordon looks at a few clips from Gordon's first two games back. Their teaser:

Does Josh Gordon deserve a chance at redemption? Can he still be a top-flight receiver after nearly three years in exile? Is he the most dangerous weapon on the Browns roster? Charles McDonald explains why the answers are yes, yes, and lord, yes.

Ok please convince me to keep Gordon in...I played Thomas and only got 6 and sat juju and diggs. Now what I have left in my starting lineup is Adams and Gordon. Getting worried! Do I sit adams or Gordon for diggs or juju? First time I sat diggs all year and worried now that i sat him for Thomas and now my opponent got 6 points from sanders and am now tied with him. Can’t believe it! Sanders has his best game in weeks, always happens to me and why I’m worried about sitting diggs now for the first time that he will now go off. Same goes for juju, got him after he went off and now finally sitting him besides the game he was suspended and worried he will have another huge game if he’s on my bench. Just hate my luck! Haha

Take all this with a grain of salt dude but this would be my thought process assuming you now feel you're an underdog: Diggs? No. Way too inconsistent and cinci isn't garbage against the pass. JuJu? Still limited in practice is my understanding with that hammy but I'd rank him higher than Diggs. Adams? Really hard to sit but with Rodgers back, he's actually getting a downgrade presumably due to Jordy. So what's that leave? Gordon with the most upside although to be fair he has the worst QB throwing to him. If I know I gotta have a high ceiling guy it's Gordon.

I agree 100% and the reason I went with what I did, but really worried now being tied with an underdog with what happened with DT and Sanders. My luck sucks. I had a bye locked up after like week 9 or 10 and almost blew it with my luck playing teams that didn’t even make it in and losing to them the last few weeks but got lucky and just barely got the bye the last week and I’m sure it’s just me overthinking but damn my luck sucks haha

Adams and Gordon. You could live with that even if it doesn't work out. The other two have way more ?????
