JuJu Smith-Schuster caught 2-of-4 targets for just six yards in the Steelers' Week 6 win over the Browns.
The Steelers crushed the Browns by 31 points and didn't need to throw the ball, as Big Ben attempted a season-low 22 passes. Still, James Washington (4-68-1) and Chase Claypool (4-74) vastly out-produced JuJu. Smith-Schuster has settled in as a low-aDOT WR3 out of the slot ahead of a Week 7 date with the Titans.

Nah, I think it's more that Juju is not a true number 1. He's a great number 2, but as more and more games pass by, it is clear he is not a 1.Thought he would be the No. 1 wideout for his team but clay pool has ruined that
I always have a guy I want on all my teams I draft. This year he could be had in the 4th round of most redrafts so I took him in the 3rd in 5 out of 6 drafts.Great #2's don't put up the weeks he's had the last month....
Might have been my worst call of all time. Traded for him week 3. One would think the emergence of the other WRs would only blow the middle wide open for JuJu in crossing routes. I don't get it unless it's injury related. But I just don't think I can start him now in a 12 teamer.
Redraft, 1 QB League. Just saw him go for QB Kyler Murray.Any trade value at this point? I got him in two leagues. My Keeper 5 man league where I got
Ben/Rodgers/Herbert as QBs
RBs: Cook/Conner/Henderson/Justin Jackson
WRs" Keenan Allen/Hill/JuJu/Fulgham/Mike Williams
TE's: Tonyan/ErtzIR
I'm streaming Eagles D this week but will be dropped as I needed someone to replace the Bal
Crosby at Kicker.
My other league I can probably just drop him but in a keeper setting I'd at least like to get something for him? Even a lower end End TE to cover Tonyan till Ertz is at least healthy. Thinking maybe packaging Ertz/Juju for something could work and maybe one of the QBs
Gigantic steal for the team getting Murray.Redraft, 1 QB League. Just saw him go for QB Kyler Murray.
Yeah it was in our work league. The guy getting Murray was saying he was going to wait and see how Dalton played (his current QB after losing Dak, he's also a Cowboys fan.) I said he's insane to wait. Just take it and get Murray.Gigantic steal for the team getting Murray.
I would think in redraft, he's nearing roster bubbles, not being traded for the current QB1 overall.
Haven’t heard anything personally. However, Situation has gone from stable to fluid considering the development of CC and injury to Bush. Trading JJSS or Washington for a linebacker isn’t too far fetched.Any rumblings on local radio of the steelers trading JuJu before the Nov trade deadline.....?
Tomlin continually says that it's so great having JuJu on the roster because he's a team first guy. They absolutely love him in the organization but the realistic scenario is he's very likely to NOT be signed long term. With them 5-0 I can't imagine they get rid of such a positive guy on the roster even if he's not exactly productive right now.Any rumblings on local radio of the steelers trading JuJu before the Nov trade deadline.....?
Why would they trade him. They want to win this year. I don't see them making moves to make their team worse. If they let him walk the probably get whatever in comp picks they would get if he was traded.Any rumblings on local radio of the steelers trading JuJu before the Nov trade deadline.....?
This. It makes no sense to trade him. Just wait until Johnson is back, he'll come around,Why would they trade him. They want to win this year. I don't see them making moves to make their team worse. If they let him walk the probably get whatever in comp picks they would get if he was traded.
Obviously if someone wants to give a high pick for him, they take that. Seems unlikely though.
its a desperate move and cap space is tight but I wonder if Howie Roseman would take a chance to trade for him? Eagles need WR help. If he does well they have some guys they can cut to make the cap space work in ALshon, DeSean and can Trade Ertz to maybe recoup picks. He's not a #1 but with the Eagles desperate at WR with guys injured and a weak division maybe worth the chance?barackdhouse said:Was offered Montgomery straight and I turned down. So disappointed in him this year. If they're going to ship him out why not trade now?
I hope you gave it to him good today for that. Guy with Murray probably just rescinded the offerTwenty-Four Eighty-Four said:Yeah it was in our work league. He may be more involved when Johnson is back but he's not Batman. He's Robin - not that there's anything wrong with that.This. It makes no sense to trade him. Just wait until Johnson is back, he'll come around,
To be clear, when I said Juju is a great number 2, I meant he is a great number 2 NFL WR on a team with a true number 1. He showed that when he was the 2 and A. Brown as the 1. As the 1, he has been underwhelming to say the least.Great #2's don't put up the weeks he's had the last month....

I would say teams don't treat him as the #1 anymore. They fear Claypool and Johnson. He's not drawing lockdown corners in the slot. He may be the 2B or 3A, and even in those roles he's failing. It almost looks like they've already decided they aren't going to pay him, he's moving on, so they are not concerned about his volume. I hope I'm wrong. To be clear, when I said Juju is a great number 2, I meant he is a great number 2 NFL WR on a team with a true number 1. He showed that when he was the 2 and A. Brown as the 1. I get that it’s early, and Juju will have some big games most likely...but this seems more and more like wishful thinkingClaypool isnt better then JuJu, he is just getting the targets like Johnson.
This seems plausible for a fantasy specific rebound for him but football wise, it's hard to see him as a WR1 or top 20 talent. True WR1s tend to get double covered / draw the top cover man pretty consistently yet manage to be more than decoys. Maybe circumstances are conspiring against the guy.. or maybe he needs to get open?As a Steelers fan I love Juju, but I don't see him performing well for fantasy unless there are some inherent changes to the Steelers offense and the opposing defenses. Juju is still the one drawing the main coverage and double coverage on most plays. I'm not sure why that hasn't changes with the Claypool breakout and Diontae getting more targets. Maybe in the coming weeks coverage will shift and Juju will be open again. But Big Ben has 0 incentive to pass to the double covered WR when he has other WRs running free with single coverage.
IMO Juju isn't necessarily the star he appeared to be, but I think he's still a top 20 talent. The problem is that he's on a team with 2 other top 20 talents, so Ben has no need to force the ball into tighter windows.
If Claypool starts to get double covered and Juju single covered, expect a quick bounce back for Juju.
I'd take Johnson. He was the most targeted between the two when on the field and won't see the top corners.Going forward would you guys rather have JuJu or Johnson. I have both and probably need to drop one. Neither seems to have any trade value in my league.
Offered him for Hollywood. Denied. It's looking bleak juju friends.Best potential destinations for JuJu in 2021 based on cap space, good young qb and wr need would be the Jets with Trevor, LAC, or Miami. What would those do for his long term value. He will only be 24 in a month. What is his current trade value anyway?
Agreed. Johnson also has shown separation skills this season.I'd take Johnson. He was the most targeted between the two when on the field and won't see the top corners.
Dynasty? I just dealt Juju and Pittman for Evans. I’m sure he’s actually good but it feels like a weight off my shoulders as an owner to not have to wonder what he is anymore.Best potential destinations for JuJu in 2021 based on cap space, good young qb and wr need would be the Jets with Trevor, LAC, or Miami. my take was solely redraft based....dynasty is way different convo....Lots of downers in this thread. Buy JuJu. Next year he won't be in Pittsburgh. Free agent choosing his destination that's going to be a good spot. I'm all for buying cheap. The question I have is what's the price tag to take JuJu away? No chance I'm paying a 1st, but is a 2nd enough to pull him away?
Spot on. He is the next in line on my team to be dropped. If I would have won the bid for Jackson last night JuJu would be off my team. It does feel good to be mentally done with him.he's starting to feel like one of those guys that in some ways ends up costing you a season......no matter how good you work the WW/trade/etc.....the fact is that for where he was drafted in most 12 team leagues.....the expectation was he was a set it and forget it WR2 for your team....now you have a healthy high pick pretty much riding your bench....it hurts when you get this type of production because it is hard to bench him for awhile and in the meantime he is costing you wins....you want to keep "riding it out" and keep plugging him in your lineup each week...hoping it turns around that week......granted I didn't study the PIT WR group maybe the way I should have but it seemed like JuJu was supposed to be the Batman this year and the other guys were the complimentary pieces....it didn't feel like Johnson/Claypool/Washington were that much of a threat to his production.....props to any of you that saw it that way, but ADP heading into the season did not reflect that sentiment...JuJu now becomes a bench player who you won't play until the week after he has a big game (which he will at some point)....and you will chase those points cause you think it has turned around.....only to probably be disappointed that week.....for me.....he has moved into bye week flex filler in an emergency territory......you aren't going to get anything for him in a trade that probably helps your starting lineup....(maybe a TE/PK/DST)....maybe....so he just sits there haunting you on your bench....
good info!We have only a small sample size for this year but here are Ben's attempts per game this year and in JuJu's two good years
2017: 37.4
2018: 42.18 (Career High for Ben by a lot)
2020: 33
Ben's yards per game are also down. They just aren't throwing the ball as much as peak JuJu years and he's the one suffering. He still leads the team in targets but that is largely due to Johnson missing time. I think the biggest glaring number is his yards/reception.
2017: 15.8
2018: 12.8
2020: 8.4 (!!)
That is a huge drop-off. His ADOT so far in 2020 is down to 4.7 from 8.8 in 2018 and 9.7 in 2019. I haven't watched a ton of Steelers games this year but why are they not targeting him deep? Is he not getting YAC? Either way, I would be looking to sell on the name. If the Steelers are ok with him being the underneath move the chains guy while Johnson and Claypool get the more valuable targets, he's not going to return draft value this year.
