WR Kadarius Toney (1 Viewer)

Some highlights:

Overall lots of "wow" going on with this play. If Garrett doesn't look at this tape and figure out how to give this kid 6-8 touches a game they are complete idiots. And if Toney can learn a route tree and start being a bigger part of the offense, look out.

With his skill set and quickness, he seems like the kind of guy that will burn out quickly. Once those jitterbugs like Dante Hall, Devin Hester, Dion Lewis loose that spark, they kind of devolve into JAGs. So hopefully Toney can burn bright for a few years.
Toney's innate ability is encouraging, reminiscent of Tyreek Hill. But there is a lot more than sick moves which goes into Hill being best receiver in the game. Seems like Toney could be useful as is, but I can't help to dream big hoping he develops into an all around receiver also.

KADARIUS TONEY WR, NEW YORK GIANTS

The Athletic's Dan Duggan said Kadarius Toney and John Ross "need to remain focal points of the offense even after" Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton return from hamstring injuries.

With Shepard and Slayton sidelined Sunday against the Saints, Jason Garrett's offense was uncharacteristically aggressive, logging eight plays of more than 20 yards -- a stark departure from the team's usual dink-and-dunk approach. Daniel Jones attempted five passes of more than 20 yards in Week 4 after throwing seven deep balls in the season's first three weeks. The blazing fast combo of Ross -- who had three grabs for 77 yards and a touchdown -- and Toney -- who gained 78 yards on six receptions -- gave New York's offense a threatening element it hasn't had in Garrett's time as offensive coordinator. "The big question is if the Giants will begin to operate the way they did in the final seven minutes of regulation and overtime, or if they’ll revert to their conservative form when they aren’t in desperation mode," Duggan said. Toney remains the more reliable PPR option this week against the Cowboys. The eventual return of Shepard and Slayton could make the Giants' receiver room a mess for fantasy purposes.

I'm feeling great for his ROS prospects. That game yesterday needs to be the turning point for this coaching staff and their offense.

A win against NOLA AT NOLA? And their first home game in forever, rocking and rolling? Very impressive.

Just added him as a bench stash…I know the other receivers will be back soon - but he showed what he could do last week when targeted.

I'm with you. Really tempted to be the smartest guy in the room and start him this week vs. Dallas. That would complete the OBJ parallels if he explodes on to national conscience in game vs. Dallas. And with JG calling the plays, the potential drama for me is very alluring. :D

I have to start him this week out of desperation instead of intelligence. Hoping Shepherd/Slayton sit one more week and they feed Toney. Liked what I saw, pretty dynamic player.

He seems like a shallow slant 80 yard TD waiting to happen.

Really didn't see a place for either NY teams highly drafted WR but these injuries are getting him reps and it looks like if he keeps it up, the injured are gonna have to hope they get their spots back.

Ross may finally has a decent first step, how it took so long is beyond me.

I thought the D plan last week was dopey. I understand letting people prove themselves but it was more like "prove you're fast" and then "ok we're gonna give a giant cushion." How about just play D normal?

I think there's a fine line between giving both of them credit and discrediting a bad D plan. I'll be looking for "who is truly good" this week. I lean towards Toney as he has an it factor to him.

Shepard is always dependable, solid WR. I've always liked him and I don't think he can be bumped off starting.

I want to see Garrett stop with the passes over the middle (good last week) when things get stressy, so Saquan isn't easier to defend. Everything can't be to the middle of the field and he has that tendency. Close game, third down, gotta spread the field. I know Garrett isn't loved right now and only had a brief window but as long as he spreads things out, he could look like a top OC again with this WR corps.

Brings me back to Toney- first second, you see he's not a normal WR and there are a handful of plays that just won't suit him. He's certainly not using his frame on the sideline or being in any lob situation etc. Garrett has a tendency to force players into roles rather than adjust to the player. Toney has to be allowed to be Toney

One more pick between Toney and my 2.09 slot.  If 2.08 takes him I won't know whether to be bummed, relieved, or both.
Welp, I got him.  Here we go, I guess.

Almost a Justin Jefferson type first four games.  Nada, nada, BOOM.  Now I just have to swallow hard and start him.

Rarely fails....the guy I don't want but take him because he's "value" ends up being pretty good (Jefferson last year).

With Ridley out in a 3 WR + flex league I started Toney out of desperation. That was a nice game, too bad he threw that punch. Hopefully he learns to keep that under control. Seemed quick to swing there

Guy looked amazing to my old eyes.  Electric.  Not very smart it appears either.  Lucky he did not connect and break his hand or wrist.  Will be interesting to see his punishment from the League and the Team.  Was in my lineup and will stay as long as not suspended!

Kadarius Toney caught 10-of-13 targets for 189 yards in Week 5 against the Cowboys.

Toney created an absurd amount of separation from Dallas defenders throughout the game, becoming a target vacuum in negative game script with Kenny Golladay sidelined with a knee issue. Most of Toney's receptions were of the underneath variety, along with a 39-yard catch down the seam against a Dallas secondary that seemed content with single covering the electric rookie. It was during a fourth quarter scrum that Toney loaded up and threw a right hook at a Cowboys defender. He was ejected, but not before head coach Joe Judge could give Toney an earful. It was a disastrous end to a breakout performance for the Giants' first round pick. Assuming Judge can get over the ejection, there's no way Jason Garrett can put the Toney genie back in the bottle. Fantasy managers prescient enough to grab Toney off the waiver wire last week could have an every-week PPR starter on their hands.

Way to play him! I was monitoring Edmonds and had Toney as emergency plugin. Though my heart was dying to play this kid. Excited to have such a piece in both dynasty leagues. Equally excited to have stolen him in the late second

nope. looks to me like he's another OBJ - head case idiot. this guy is as likely to be kicked out of a game for a bad temper as he is to score a 90 yard TD. no thanks.it's only a matter of time before he becomes a drama queen WR ala OBJ.

next.

I'll gladly take OBJ's career arc from my late second.

Seems like he deserves at least one chance to learn from his mistake.

I would have loved to have owned Randy Moss (not saying that's an actual football comparison) despite the drama that came with him...

I don’t really fault him too much here, tbh….

Yeah even the announcers said he was pushed earlier, this was a retaliation of some sort...not saying that makes it right, but seems less concerning than if he just ran over and threw a punch out of the blue

Wanna take the time out to apologize to the entire organization, Owners, My Teammates and the entire #BigBlue…your emotions just can get the best of you sometimes…..No Excuses just actions #ThankYall

edit to add a 2nd link for all of his catches yesterday.   broke Odell's record for most receiving yards in a game by a giants rookie.  (189 - 185).

To think he could have smashed that record if he controlled his anger.

He looked shifty. Loved him. Thought he was too small. I was wrong. Looks to be electric
With some of the Odell talk I thought I'd include this as you would be hard pressed to find to players more similar in size/workout numbers. Odell's was combine, Toney was pro day.

Odell:  5'11"/198, 4.43 40, 38.5 vertical,  6.69 3-cone.

Toney: 5'11"/193, 4.38 40, 39.5 vertical,  6.88 3- cone.

He looked phenomenal...lots of mouths to feed there so it will be interesting to see how it plays out
Agreed.  What are you guys thinking for FAAB in shallower, more redraft leagues where he may be available? I know he's out there in one of mine.

Nice job with the link...the kid can hit that next gear real fast...
