WR Marvin Harrison Jr., ARZ (1 Viewer)

If Harrison doesn't have a career day today against this pitiful Dallas D, the HC and OC should both resign .
Prime time MNF against the defense everyone gets right on. With a bye week to look in the mirror.

If he can’t do it against this one he won’t until there’s a new regime in AZ.

He sort of disappeared in the second half.

After he tied his single game record for targets….. in the first half.

How do I know this? Because I was going against him with a 40 point lead and was a little nervous I was going to lose it with the way he started.

They DID have a big league… and it was never too close, but they did allow the cowboys to make an effort. Keep the pedal on coaches.

Dude! LOL I was going against him and Bam Knight with a 40 point lead AND had Lamb going for me and after the first half I think the lead was down to 20 and Zona was getting the ball back first in the second half and I was sweating it big time!

First time in a long time that I can't make my mind up on if a player is a buy or sell. Smh
I think he’s just a hold. Everyone knows that was Dallas. Can he repeat it against a somewhat capable defense? Murray will be back too. He makes too much money. I don't think they have the balls to bench him if he's healthy.

MHJr. still had another bad-ish drop where he didn’t come back to a ball and let it get into his chest. Route tree still looks limited and the design of the offense feels archaic to me. He won on like 3 straight comebacks on that first drive. He doesn't go in motion much. No screens or easy catches. Etc.

Your post translated into my brain as sell. Ha ha. Think im gonna fish him for Odunze.

Jacoby Brissett says the dynamic between him and Marvin Harrison Jr. has flipped and the QB said the wideout was “going through a tough time” a few weeks ago @PHNX_Cardinals
Aaaaand the few weeks before that…aaaand a few weeks before that…aaaaand a few weeks at the end of last season…aaaaand a few weeks….

He's a quiet diva, like his dad, but he's a diva. Doesn't look like he wants to be out there, not even trying.
But at least his dad backed it up with his performance
His Dad caught passes from Peyton Manning from the 3rd year of his career until his retirement.

Senior averaged 850 yards and 7 TDs those first two seasons. His first monster year wasn’t until year 4. His second season with Manning.

So every WR who caught balls from Manning is in the HOF?

Prime Manning vs Brissett and Kyler is quite a difference.
Dad is in the HOF. Son has disappointed in the pros, and it’s more than just having crummy QBs.

You are comparing his dad's entire career with an all time great qb vs a wide receiver 1.5 years into his career with terrible qb play. Doesn't seem like apples to apples yet.

Zed posted that they were both divas. I replied that at least dad backed it up with his performance.

I don’t think that’s a very controversial statement. Jr hasn’t backed it up with his performance. If you’d like me to add a “yet” next to that, fine.

Said it before and will say it again; one of the only things Jr. has in common with Sr. is the name. That's not a dig at Jr., been saying this since his eval pre-draft. They aren't built the same, they both found success in different ways utilizing different skill sets. The comp has never made sense, whether it was being made by MHJs supporters OR detractors.

And to this point in his career, he's underwhelmed for where he was drafted. Maybe it will turn around, but most of the red flags identified with him coming out of college are the same things he's still struggling with; and none of that has to do with his QB or how the offense has deployed him. Obviously the latter two things haven't helped him either, if that really needs to be said. But IMO we've seen better from the two WRs drafted alongside (often times after) him in the majority of dynasty leagues Odunze and Nabers. I doubt many (if any) of the owners of either of those two would be willing to swap for MHJ right now. He's about a full round later than Odunze in start up value right now, and about three rounds later than Nabers. If that isn't a disappointment so far, I don't know what is.

Obviously no on is cutting him, and now that Murray is out of the picture it should open the door to get a QB who better matches with his skillset. Brissett is already an improvement, despite being a lesser physical talent. At least he can see over the line, will throw to between the numbers and to the intermediate part of the field. This is where MHJ ate in college and his skills dictate where he should be working most.

Do you think MHJr.’s performance would be better if he was on an offense with prime Peyton Manning?

Is it though?
You’re right, it’s also coaching. And possibly Junior isn’t as good as his dad. But the situations are vastly different.

Yes.
But. Back to the original statement.
Both are divas.
My response was simply that one backed it up and the other hadn’t.
Is that so controversial?

One has backed it up.
The other hasn’t.

All most people are saying here is WHY the other hasn’t backed it up. It doesn’t change the fact that he hasn’t. And I agree with the reasons. But he hasn’t.

Emergency appendectomy.

Out this week at least
I'll predict he misses 3 games.
Reasonable but I'll go with 2.

I recall Cade Stover last year and I only recall it because my daughter had appendectomy surgery the exact same day as him and I remember that because he we was back playing in 11 days after his surgery while she was still acting like she'd been shot and I was giving her a good natured ribbing about how this guy is playing in an NFL game and she's acting like she can't get out of bed.

So if Stover can make it back in 11 days post surgery, I'll give Marv 19 days and make it back in week 13 as my projection.

I don't remember his dad being a diva. If anything, I remember him doing the ol' "act like you've been here before" schtick and not over-celebrating, not afraid to block, etc. Not to the Hines Ward level, but cut from the same cloth. Maybe I'm crossing a wire and misremembering.
