Matthew Golden caught 3-of-5 targets for 86 yards in the Packers’ Week 6 win over the Bengals, adding two rushes for 16 yards.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was evidently busy scheming up creative ways to get the explosive rookie involved during their Week 5 bye. Golden got going on the Packers’ second drive, initially taking a swing pass for eight yards after being sent in motion pre-snap. He gained another eight yards on a jet sweep a few plays later. Golden’s most impressive play occurred late in the game, with roughly two-and-a-half minutes remaining, when he improvised on a post route cutting flat across the field to get underneath the waiting defensive back. Jordan Love spotted the shift and hit him for a 31-yard gain. Golden warrants WR3/FLEX consideration against the Cardinals next week.
