WR Mike Evans, TB (2 Viewers)

And Evans was rewarded for his kindness to the Falcons star CB with a crown of the helmet to the chin. Kindness gets you nothing on the field of play.

Dabeers? The Buccs should be scrutinized? Clearly scrutiny prevents things from happening, so lets Scrutinize everything.
Even after he was cleared to go back in by the independent guys in the blue hats, who even watch replay fo the hit over and over, the Buccs should be scrutinized?
Maybe after a hit to the face in MMA we need to stop the match for a concussion eval and scrutinize them if they dont.
This sensitivity is the exact thing thats helping hurt this once great game. My proof? Ratings.
When hits were around, it is what made this game rise... take them away and get helicopter parent on us and you get this and the rise of MMA.
Not a coincidence.

Yeah, that was not a good look for the NFL / organization if it really is a concussion. They had already checked him the previous drive after the big hit.

But before he finally went out, he was waving his hand / tapping his head before 2-3 plays trying to sub-out. I think he was targeted for a pass on almost all of them.
On the upside, he didn't drop either of those 2 passes, so maybe the concussion fixed him?

Slow down on the best hands now. He does drop many easy ones, dropped one last night. Good thing he hit the defender on accident afterwards or Winston would have had a pick.

Mike Evans is in the NFL's concussion protocol.

That's the bad news after Evans came up woozy late in Thursday night's loss to Atlanta. The good news is he is expected to practice on Monday, and should have a good shot at playing in Week 10 with the Bucs on a long week. Evans leads the NFL in targets and touchdown catches. Tampa faces the Bears next.
everyone can exhale now. If he's expected to practice Monday that's a pretty sure sign he's playing exit week.

No. I still wouldn't trade him for half your roster and a hummer from your playmate supermodel sister.

(Though that would certainly warm me up to negotiations...)
I gave OBJ for him straight up 2 weeks ago.  Playing that owner this week.

How was the hummer?

ETA, I can't believe someone would deal you Evans for OBJ 2 weeks ago, or any time this year. OBJ has had what, 1 good game, and has a balky hip and a terrible QB.

shockingly poor decision on the Evans owner.

I sure hope he's practicing Monday and is 100%. But idk how anyone can say that.

It's a concussion. Noone knows how the recovery will go. Everyone's different. Total speculation

The team apparently said he's expected to practice Monday.

Which would seem to me that Evans probably told them he wanted to practice Monday.

That's usually how these things go...just like the team sometimes says, "we're not expecting him to practice Monday".

So slightly better than "total speculation" IMO. I guess we'll find out Monday.

Lol.  Obj has ridiculous name value and is all over media where Evans is not.  Also virtually every expert dynasty list has obj ahead of Evans if only by a couple spots. Some people put a lot of weight in those lists.

well done - I guess technically you gave him a 1st rounder for a 2nd rounder, but I could only see that going down before week 1 (back when you probably still had mad   for OBJ and wouldn't have made that deal).

I never look at anyone else's ratings with more than a grain of salt, never. Weekly rankings are never right, you have guys ranked #33 who put up top 10 numbers and then we move on totally forgetting that they get it wrong every week, and yet will go back to check them out and take them as gospel. You have guys who make lists that bend to the way of popular thinking and most times doesnt reflect the actual rankings but popularity contest or to drive the person who is making the lists agenda. Lists are never anything any person should refer to as a actual start mechanism and I'm sure most dont. In my humble opinion of course. For the past 3 weeks lists continuously put Winston out of Top 10, he has beat that every week, so why doesnt he get respect of higher on the lists? Spencer ware always got the shaft early on in the season too. Wilson has been ahead of Winston each of the last 3 weeks in most rankings I have seen. Splain that--- Lists should not be made off hope but off a reasonable expectation. Expectations are not good for Wilson, but have been good for Winston lately.

I almost did a similar deal in early October.  Was offered OBJ, Keenan allen and Jordan reed for Evans, Antonio Brown and jimmy Graham.  Biggest reason I didn't was brown (and that allen was injured,  often and again) but I was contemplating a counter which wouldn't have been that much more from him.   That offer looks horrible now.

Then another, good, intelligent owner, tried to convince me that Brandon Marshall is better than evans, by a lot this year. :oldunsure:

But, I did get evans by trading Jeffery and a late 1st before the year. :)  (Also gave evans for parker+ back in the winter, but nowhere near enough +s) :wall:

Looks like the team wasn't speculating when they told the media that he'd practice Monday.

Mike Evans (concussion) is practicing Monday.

He will likely be limited after entering the concussion protocol following Thursday night's game, but even limited work this early in the week gives him a great shot to play. He might even be able to clear the protocol before Wednesday's practice. Evans will be a high-end WR1 against the Bears.

Woohoo!  :pickle:

Now let's hope Winston can stop sailing passes to him that he has to sky for and take a beating when he comes down with the reception!

He didn't pass through protocol yet.  :sadbanana:

Mike Evans remains in the league's concussion protocol.
Evans went through the Bucs' light walkthrough Monday and probably will be on the practice field in some capacity Wednesday, but he still needs to pass further tests. We tentatively expect Evans to be cleared before the end of the week, especially with the Bucs having 10 days between games.

The news coming out surrounding this is extremely positive.

He practiced in full today and Ian Rapaport stated that he has been system free. Of course it's possible for symptoms to show up later, which is why they'll be watching him closely leading up to game time, but all signs point towards him suiting up Sunday.

:excited:  that was one hell of a catch/hit he took. Glad to hear he won't miss a game. Those extra days probably work into his favor here.

I didn't realize you could still be in the protocol but have a full practice.  That's a thing?

You have to complete a full practice to be cleared as part of the step I believe.
He should be cleared tomorrow. Maybe would have been sooner if the practice week started earlier.

My understanding is there is 5 stages of the protocol, starting with rest and then stage 2 is light aerobic activity working up to stage 5 which is a full practice with no restrictions.  After each stage the player is re-evaluated by the team physician to make sure that there is no reoccurrence of the concussion symptoms.  When the player completes stage 5 (full practice) they are re-evaluated by the team physician and if he feels the player is cleared, then the player has to see an independent neurological consultant (INC) who will examine the player and review all of the reports from the team physician.  It's up to the INC to give final clearance for the player to participate in the upcoming game.

Not surprised since he went through his 2nd full practice, he would have been full today if he didnt pass his final clearance after full practice yesterday.

Yeah - based on the fact that he said he felt well enough to practice Monday when asked on Sunday seemed like a good sign that he was gonna suit up this week.

i never had a doubt.

I love this guy on the field, but he is an idiot.  When asked about his political stance, he admittedly said he doesn't follow politics.  If you don't follow politics don't make a political stance.

I just posted in the Bucs' thread, but I honestly think Jameis went away from him on purpose yesterday because of that stunt.  He did the same thing against the Saints last year when Evans was dropping everything.  Jameis is the alpha and the leader of this team.  Evans wants to act like a clown?  Fine, good luck catching passes without the ball being thrown to you.

So let me get this straight...you think Winston - a black man - made a concerted effort not to throw to his best weapon - a black man - because he sat for the anthem in protest of the most racist president since Andrew Jackson? And "act like a clown?" Did Evans do something other than kneel/sit? What am I missing here?

Jameis did not throw away from Evans because of him kneeling... lol, that is beyond absurd. I doubt Jameis was even aware that he kneeled until after the game.

This is not a big deal at all, but of course people and the media will blow it way out of proportion.
