Suspended one game per Adam Schefter tweet:
Lucky it wasn’t longer since he’s been ejected for this exact same thing in the past.
Suspended one game per Adam Schefter tweet:
Yes he was. I don’t see anyone defending Evans here.Evans was the gutless one who shoved a guy not looking.
Yeah - the dual ejections was a little extreme. For me, I would prefer offsetting penalties with no ejections and certainly no suspensions, but I understand that in today's NFL this type of behavior often results in harsher discipline.
It is crazy. But it's also a combo of: 1) history between these guys, 2) Lattimore covers Evans well and sort of shuts him down, 3) Lattimore is annoying with constant talking and chirping, 4) the refs let Lattimore get away with mauling Evans on the field constantly, 5) refs let these two guys go at it over and over without stepping in. In the NBA, both these guys would have gotten T'd up earlier in the game -- but NFL refs are pansies. They don't do a great job of controlling the game.I can’t imagine how Evens has been in the league this long, with this much success, and still let a mouthy knucklehead like Lattimore get into his head to the point of getting ejected.
He was having a pretty good game until then. Then Lattimore baited him, he swallowed it hook, line & sinker, and got hisself ejected.
Crazy.
Presumably Lattimore is NOT suspended then. If so, that's BS.Suspended one game per Adam Schefter tweet:
Agreed - which is exactly why it should have been off-setting penalties and no ejection/suspension.It is crazy. I’m defending Evans.Yes he was. I don’t see anyone defending Evans here.Evans was the gutless one who shoved a guy not looking.
Yes he is appealing it.Is there any appeal process?
Like a real life version of "**** around and find out"I’m defending Evans.Yes he was. I don’t see anyone defending Evans here.Evans was the gutless one who shoved a guy not looking.Talk **** get hit.
It's pretty crazy they suspended a guy for a hard shove. I'm with you. It's the NoFunLeague for sure. Am I the only one who doesn't think this is a big deal? 15 yard penalty would be enough in my opinion.
I mean, they pause the match to let hockey players punch each other in the face.
Myles Garrett and any other Browns player. Can't think of a duo I'd like to get into it with less than Evans and Fournette.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Sources confirmed the Mike Evans appeal will be heard today. James Thrash is the appeals officer. He is jointly appointed by the NFL and NFLPA.

Repeat offender targeting the same player. Evan’s is suspended because he came from the sidelines to intervene. Stupid act and deserved suspension. Lattimore has owned him and is clearly living rent free upstairs.
For talking smack? So Brady should be suspended then. 90% of the league should be suspended next week based on that take.the fact that Latimore didn’t get suspended too is ridiculous.
Guessing you didn't see the video. For talking smack? So Brady should be suspended then. 90% of the league should be suspended next week based on that take.the fact that Latimore didn’t get suspended too is ridiculous.

He did a bit more than 'talk smack'i was watching the game. i've seen replays.Guessing you didn't see the video. For talking smack? So Brady should be suspended then. 90% of the league should be suspended next week based on that take.the fact that Latimore didn’t get suspended too is ridiculous.
In the eyes of Bucs fans and Brady fanboys. The irony is that Evans was having one of his best games against Lattimore prior to the suspension.Repeat offender targeting the same player. Evan’s is suspended because he came from the sidelines to intervene. Stupid act and deserved suspension. Lattimore has owned him and is clearly living rent free upstairs.
Odd way to look at it. Which one do you consider "talking smack", when he shoved fournette or when he tackled Evans in retaliation? For talking smack? Well, I'm neither and deflecting isn't a great way to get out of admitting that you were wrong. In the eyes of Bucs fans and Brady fanboys. Im all for Brady being perceived as playing 3D chess, but thats not what happened here. He was pissed, Lattimore was taunting him and he took the bait. Naturally his team came to his side at that point. There's probably a near zero chance he thought anything out like you are portraying. As I have posted a few times, Brady played a role in the fight taken place and his star WR being suspended Week 3. You can slice it or dice it however you want but General Thomas Brady saw an opportunity in a 3-3 ball game late to spark the team and ensure victory.
Much like a Baseball Manager sometimes has to get tossed to spark the dugout, same thing IMHO.
I'm not saying Brady should have been suspended but he knew what was happening on the field.
@Moniker and @Shawnky
It can be a little of both here and I hope you all understand the circle(360) argument I like to bring up from time to time. Whether you are at the top of the circle or the bottom of the circle, it's equal distance into the middle so there's room for both POV here I believe.
But I don't think Brady was without fault, he wasn't calming things down IMHO.
No reason continuing this with an illogical person.Well, I'm neither and deflecting isn't a great way to get out of admitting that you were wrong. In the eyes of Bucs fans and Brady fanboys. I wasn't defending anyone. I think Evans should be suspended and Lattimore and Fournette shouldn't. I was only calling out the all Lattimore did was 'talk smack' comment. He pushed Founette in the face. That's a bit more than 'talking smack'.As I have posted a few times, Brady played a role in the fight taken place and his star WR being suspended Week 3. At this point you're either blind or trolling. Lattimore pushed Fournette in the face. That isn't talking smack. No reason continuing this with an illogical person.Well, I'm neither and deflecting isn't a great way to get out of admitting that you were wrong. In the eyes of Bucs fans and Brady fanboys. I hate Tom Brady and not a Bucs fan. Lattimore threw a punch at Fournette and pushed Tom Brady. I'm not sure what game you were watching. In the eyes of Bucs fans and Brady fanboys. This isn't true though. This was after an offensive play and were "walking off" the field.Repeat offender targeting the same player. Evan’s is suspended because he came from the sidelines to intervene. Stupid act and deserved suspension. Lattimore has owned him and is clearly living rent free upstairs.
Hi CJ, I think what you posted is close to what I described.Im all for Brady being perceived as playing 3D chess, but thats not what happened here. The NFL upheld Mike Evans’ one-game suspension for hitting Saints’ CB Marshon Lattimore. Evans is now officially out for Sunday’s game vs. the Green Bay Packers.
Mike Evans caught 8-of-10 targets for 103 yards and two touchdowns in Tampa Bay's Week 4 loss to Kansas City.
One of the incompletions was essentially a Hail Mary. With two more end zone targets - one wiped out by an unnecessary roughness penalty - it could have been even better for Evans. As it is, Evans dunked on Jamel Dean on a fade and took a big hit over the middle in a zone post for his first score. Chris Godwin's target hogging clouds the picture as long as he is healthy, but Evans remains the easy layup for Tampa in the red zone and should easily remain on the WR1/WR2 borderline.

Mike Evans caught 4-of-4 targets for 42 yards in the Bucs' Week 6 loss to the Steelers.
It was a disappointing day against a banged up Steelers secondary, especially since Tom Brady attempted 40 passes. The Bucs bafflingly passed on taking shots down the field. Evans has exceeded four catches only two times all year and reached 100 yards just once. He does have three scores in five games. Evans will be on the road against the Panthers in Week 7.

Mike Evans caught 9-of-15 targets for 96 yards in Tampa's Week 7 loss to Carolina.
Evans was wide open for a score on Tampa's first drive, but ham-handed the ball off his knee in a way that accurately portended how the rest of this game would look for Tampa. Another would-be 30-yard gain was just slightly thrown over his hands. Evans did seem to be working open essentially any time Tampa tried to go downfield, but it was an unfortunate -- albeit still fantasy-useful -- outcome on the whole. He also dealt with dings to his elbow and ankle that didn't seem to cost him many real snaps. Evans will remain a WR1 on Thursday night against the Ravens.

Mike Evans (ankle) will play Thursday night against the Ravens.
Evans was listed as a DNP on Monday, but he returned to limited practices on Tuesday and Wednesday before being left off the final injury report. He did not look 100 percent last week, but Evans played through his ankle and elbow injuries to record a 9-96 line. He is a must-start this week.

Mike Evans caught 6-of-11 targets for 123 yards in the Bucs' Week 8 loss to the Ravens.
Fueled by a season-long 51-yard reception in the fourth quarter, Evans' 123 yards were his most of the year. That is where the good news stops, as Evans and Tom Brady continued to struggle to get on the same page. Brady missed Evans more than once in the red zone, and the duo could be scene debating, if not necessarily arguing, several times. Evans' huge gain came as he won in close quarters against Marlon Humphrey. Now up to 26 targets over his past two games, Evans is doing his best to step up for this in-crisis offense, but the Bucs have been truly horrendous in the red zone, leading to just three Evans scores. Jalen Ramsey's Rams secondary awaits for Week 9.

Mike Evans caught 5-of-6 targets for 54 yards in the Bucs' Week 10 win over the Seahawks.
The Bucs got their ground game going versus Seattle, running 44 times for 161 yards. As a result, there wasn't much passing production to go around. Missing out on both of Tom Brady's touchdowns doomed Evans to a mediocre fantasy outing. Evans has held a massive role in the Tampa passing game this year, so one down performance will be counted as an anomaly. He will look to rebound coming out of the team's Week 11 bye.
Nov 13, 2022, 2:29 PM ET
Mike Evans caught all four targets for 59 yards in the Buccaneers' Week 13 win over the Saints.
Evans has had to contend with multiple injuries and ineffective offensive line play over the previous month of play, keeping his box score production suppressed. While his health is likely to continue to improve, the poor pass blocking exhibited by the Buccaneers front is likely to continue to inhibit Evans' fantasy success moving forward.

It cost me my critical matchup that I lost by 2 points. I would have gotten a bye if he got even one catch, but nope, Brady didn’t even look his way.Brady didn't look his way once on that final drive. Very frustrating.
