I can see how it would feel different to any of the people who are saying they love the guy. That would make me happier for him and make it easier for me to overlook the carelessness-versus-symbolism situation. But that doesn't apply in my case, as personally, any player who isn't wearing black and orange stripes, or on my dynasty roster, is my enemy.

Those are three locks for the Hall.

What your list gives me hope for is my dynasty team. I roster Adams and you can bet he’ll be dead set on a situation that gets him the most fed.

It's entertaining how often he's flirted with 1k. Seasons of 1001, 1004, 1006.

Evans will end up having better career totals than all but a small group of WRs. He already ranks 35th in career receptions, 24th in receiving yards, and 9th in receiving TD. He's scored 105 TD . . . so far, every eligible player with 100 receiving TDs has made the HOF (Fitzgerald and Gates haven't been eligible up until now).

I know fantasy performance isn't really the best way to compare players, but since this is a fantasy site, that's one of the easier ways. Evans peak seasons haven't been as high as others. No shame in that. He gets points for being on the field year in and year out. If we look at the best 5 individual fantasy seasons for the 7 guys I mentioned, here's how they stack up in terms of their 5 best yearly fantasy rankings in PPR leagues.

Brown: 1, 1, 1, 2, 3 = 8
Hopkins: 1, 1, 4, 4, 5 = 15
Hill: 2, 2, 2, 3, 6 = 15
Adams: 1, 2, 3, 4, 9 = 19
Jones: 2, 2, 3, 6, 6 = 19
Fitzgerald: 2, 2, 5, 5, 5 = 19
Evans: 3, 7, 9, 9, 11 = 39

Evans has ranked in the Top 20 fantasy receivers in every one of his 11 seasons, which is an incredible accomplishment and speaks to his consistency, productivity, and availability.

I should despise Bo Nix on the Broncos but, hell, my son goes to U of Oregon so I don’t mind that Nix is doing well. I never would’ve said that 20 years ago.

So I’m much more about good guys and great players.

What's your projections for Evans this year and how much do you think Egbuka will be involved or on the field?
I like Egbuka and while he will struggle at times for targets this season, I think the 2nd Half of the season he starts looking like one of their starting WRs going forward

I know Evans has all these 1,000 yds seasons but it was a little bit of a struggle to watch him make it again last year
It's also possible Egbuka will help open up the offense and Evans just gets open with more weapons for Baker to throw to

First - I would pencil in Godwin on the PUP list to start the season
So that means that Evans should be close to WR1 level production and he's fine to take in the 3rd
From all indications, Egbuka is ready to hit the ground running in the Godwin role, which Godwin turned into WR2 overall numbers in PPR before he went down. Egbuka is a value at ADP.
McMillan is also a value as a late round pick, although while Tristan Wirfs is out (who knows who long), they may go with more 2 TE sets to help him.

i agree that he's one of the best deep threat guys ever, and i also think evans isn't recognized enough for the fact that he's 6'5 250lbs and can beat you anywhere on the field. short, intermediate, jump balls, slot , outside - doesn't matter. just an amazing receiver all around.

Optimism for practice this week
The Buccaneers are hoping Evans (hamstring) can return to practice this week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Advice: With Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) expected to miss some time and Chris Godwin (fibula) already essentially ruled out for Week 7 by coach Todd Bowles on Monday, Tampa Bay could really use Evans back in the lineup. Evans was injured Week 3 and has missed the Bucs' last three contests. At the time of his injury, he was initially given a return timeline of 3-to-4 weeks, so the veteran wide receiver should be inching closer to a return to the field. Fantasy players will have a better idea of Evans' upcoming availability later this week, as the Bucs travel to Detroit to face the Lions next Monday night.

Evans’ return couldn’t come at a better time for the Buccaneers, who have managed to push their record to 5-1 to start the year despite injuries to several key players. Evans did not practice at all last week, so it’s too early to say if he’ll make his return in Week 7 against the Lions. With that said, the Monday night tilt will give him a little extra time to heal, which could make all the difference for a suddenly depleted receiving corps. The Bucs will release their first injury report of the week on Thursday, hopefully Evans is able to log snaps in some capacity.

Godwin got on the field and looked like a shell of what he was at the start of 2024, now maybe it will get better but it wasn't looking good
If Evans were to come out and have 100/TD I would think he rolls right back to what he always does in this offense

I will say his matchups were pretty tough out of the gate. A.J. Terrell, Derek Stingley, Sauce Gardner. I don't think the Lions have anyone like this. He's going to need a couple monster games to get on track and then stay healthy.
