In the one dynasty I didn’t draft him in I’m thinking of putting an offer out for em. Anyone seen any “fair” trades for him since week one?
Sorta same boat- I have Lockett and Gabe Davis. I'd start Aiyuk, in your shoes. That kid is ready to be the man.Just got him for $21. Now does he start over Aiyuk, Lockett, E. Moore, or Gabe Davis as my 3rd WR?
Being a Steelers fan of course I watched the 49ers dismantle the Steelers offense. As great as they were, some the Steelers undoing was due to Kenny Pickett's inaccuracy.
I'm interested in your thoughts, earlier this evening in a 2-player keeper league I've offered the Roshon Johnson owner Nacua, Alexander Mattison & draft capital (if Johnson outscores Nacua). My leagues are .5ppr, production from the return game is scored. Will field any & all questions. In the one dynasty I didn’t draft him in I’m thinking of putting an offer out for [him]. Harris sounded impressed. IDK on the others. So I was a little reckless adding him. What did the "experts" say? Matt Harmon, Matt Waldman, Chris Harris, the spreadsheet bros? Was there a consensus around his performance last week?
All of his plays. He's a zone beater, thats about it
I don’t understand- is this aupposed to be a disparaging thing? The D was zone. He beat the zone. At a 67% success rate. He is a zone beater. All of his plays. He's a zone beater, thats about it.
Nice post. Do the Niner's play more zone or man?All of his plays. He's a zone beater, thats about it.
Winning is winning in the end. The issue becomes was he winning in the zone simply from coaching, Stafford, or being smart reading the zone? Defenses have some tape now. Do they now press man to man coverage? How will he respond? He is a tough, smart kid, but doesn't have top end speed. I still think he succeeds, but defenses are smart so it should be fun to watch. If he has a 2 catch game this thread is gonna go nuts.I don’t understand- is this aupposed to be a disparaging thing? The D was zone. He beat the zone. At a 67% success rate. I wouldn’t use matchup as a reason to bench Nacua this week.
Even with the 49ers signing a corner adept in man coverage in Charvarius Ward last offseason, the 49ers remained one of the most zone-heavy teams in the NFL in 2022.Nice post. Do the Niner's play more zone or man?All of his plays. He's a zone beater, thats about it.
With only two keepers I think he’ll take that deal pretty easily. Personally I think nacua is more of a long term investment. I expect the time to buy will be a few weeks after kupp comes back. I had nacua ranked well ahead of where he was drafted so I am a bit biased. If I could use him to get RJ I’d do it in a heartbeat though.I'm interested in your thoughts, earlier this evening in a 2-player keeper league I've offered the Roshon Johnson owner Nacua, Alexander Mattison & draft capital (if Johnson outscores Nacua). Indeed, San Francisco was 29th in man coverage usage rate during the regular season, but the Niners can be expected to climb those rankings under Wilks.
Asked about incorporating more man coverage in 2023, Wilks said in his first press conference:
“I think you have to explore and experiment with everything. My background is diverse in zone as well as man, and I think it can change each week based off your opponent and who you're playing. Do I feel like we have the skill set to play more man? Yes.”
It is tough to dispute Wilks’ assessment. Ward is one of the better man coverage corners in the NFL, who thrived when asked to guard the likes of D.K. Metcalf and DeAndre Hopkins last season.

Here is KP vs San Francisco. They were taking away exactly the type of play Nacua gashed Seattle with. For as much **** as Pickett has gotten, he had very little in the way of open receivers. The defense mostly was zone but somehow they managed to close all the avenues. If Puka plays in the Cooper Kupp role can we expect Mcvay to give Puka the same target share as Kupp against the Niners?
Kupp week 4 (Levi) went 14 for 122 on 19 targets and week 8 (Sofi) 8 for 79 and 1 receiving TD on 12 targets. (2022)
Of course, there is a new defensive coordinator in Steve Wilkes. That is a lot of targets. Listening to Mcvay it sounds like they are just preserving Puka for Sunday. In the interview after the game, Puka had that smile and laugh and sounded like a little kid. He did not seem remotely in pain. In all of the interviews I have seen, he has that youthful giddy tone but there was nothing that indicated he was remotely in pain. Now, after the adrenaline wears off maybe he noticed it but to me, it seems he will be good to go. Not sure what to expect game plan-wise and what Wilkes will do to limit Puka. I suspect they (the Niners) will come after Stafford to limit both Puka and Stafford. I just do not enough about Wilkes and his philosophy to make an accurate forecast of what to expect. Single high or two-shell look? More zone or man. I think I will go with Puka. I have Elija Moore as a pivot on Monday night. I can wait to see how the rest of my team is doing to make that call I have a big lead due to playing Cousins, Hoeck, and Jefferson but playing last year's champ who has a very good team and has a high point total potential. I lost by .8 last week on Bass's last-second kick (heartbreaking) so losing and going 0-2 just is not what I need. it comes down to Puka, Christian Kirk, or Elija Moore.
I'll probably go to Puka if he is playing. 12 to 19 targets as a possibility might be too much to pass up. If he can get that kind of target share.
Are we confident enough he plays to pass up 1:00 players like Burks?
Are we confident enough he plays to pass up 1:00 players like Burks?
I’m in the exact same situation and leaning Puka because I’m the underdog in my matchup and need his ceiling more than Burks’s floor. Puka might sit and give me a goose egg but it’s just as likely Burks gives us another 4 point two reception performance. Give me the ceiling I blew half of my FABB budget for.Are we confident enough he plays to pass up 1:00 players like Burks?
This is how I was thinking. I was leaning Burks until Hopkins was cleared to play. Now I would go Puka. Are we confident enough he plays to pass up 1:00 players like Burks?
Maybe if Nuk was sitting I’d consider Burks but I think I’m much more comfortable playing Puka over Burks and it’s not super close imo.
Schefter says he’s playing, so he’s playing.Any update on him?
Same. Over Bourne and Gus as well.welp, starting him over Lockett
Again, the secondary isn’t the 49ers strength, and Nacua appears to be a pass funnel for the Rams. Not 100% and playing against a great 49ers defense....yikes don't have much confidence of a repeat from last week
I was here, until I realized these 2 teams had the leagues highest scoring game last yearSame. Over Bourne and Gus as well.welp, starting him over Lockett

I'm firing him up against my 49ers over Dalvin Cook in the flex. I know that's not a ringing endorsement, but just saying.Again, the secondary isn’t the 49ers strength, and Nacua appears to be a pass funnel for the Rams. Not 100% and playing against a great 49ers defense....yikes don't have much confidence of a repeat from last week
I’m not expecting 15 targets/10 catches, but 6/80/1 wouldn’t shock me at all.

Please dont hate me, I chickened out and put Nuk in over him at the last second. His 3:05 start time and questionable designation scared me too much. Good to all of you running him out there today.

Nuk is a no brainer over Puka. Please dont hate me, I chickened out and put Nuk in over him at the last second. His 3:05 start time and questionable designation scared me too much. Good to all of you running him out there today.
